Joseph W. Campbell, Jr., age 93, of Clairton, died July 28, 2020, at home. Born June 8, 1927, in Elizabeth, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph W., Sr., and Margaret (Boyd) Campbell.
Joe was retired from the former Continental Can Corporation, where he worked as the lead line mechanic. In his early years, Joe was a volunteer Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. He was also a member of the F&AM. Joe was an avid automobile enthusiast and was proud to show off his tool collection.

Murray age 94, of Scott Twp. formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on August 9, 2020 at Woodcliffe Manor, in Bethel Park.  Born in Duquesne on October 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Davin) Murray.  He was a retired general superintendent of the Bar Mill at U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works. He was a graduate of Duquesne University in 1943, a member of St. Therese Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, the Knights of Columbus #955, the McKeesport Elks, and the Homestead V.F.W.  He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was the husband of the late Loretta L. (Lynch) Murray; father of

Christopher (Rose) Murray of Scott Twp.; Grandfather of David P. Murray and John M. Cheryl Lynn Thompson Coleman died August 5, 2020. She was born on July 11, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, the second of three children to the late Robert F. and Doris S. Thompson.

No one knew the profound impact this child would make or leave on so many lives, but GOD knew. She was raised with the core values of putting God first then family.  

Cheryl accepted the Lord at a very early age.  She loved the Lord so much and fulfilling our Grandfather’s wishes she pursued and received a Certificate of License to preach the Gospel of Ministry in 2005, followed by obtaining her Certificate of Ordination in 2006 from Bethlehem Baptist Church, McKeesport, PA, where she delivered her first sermon as an Associate Minister, the beginning of several to come.  Up until the time of her passing, Cheryl was actively coordinating and planning church functions, occasionally teaching a computer class or two.

He was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII as a Radarman on the USS Boxer CV-21 Aircraft Carrier.  He worked at the former Bell Telephone Company and later AT&T. He was a member of The American Legion 701 in White Oak, The Polaris Masonic Lodge in McKeesport and The Frank Gun Cub in Buena Vista. He was also a shriner and a Scottish Rite Mason.  Robert was an avid golfer and hunter, and was a Pittsburgh sports fan, most notably having Steelers season tickets for many years.

(Pachucka) Rabickow.  After moving to Clairton in 1950, Mary Ann was member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish (St. Clare of Assisi Church), worked as a bookkeeper for the former Busy Beaver in Clairton, retired as a secretary from Clairton City Hall in 1998, and, after her retirement, worked part time for Three Rivers Bank in Large and the Clairton City FCU.  In her spare time, she loved to bowl, could not wait to go to the casino, and had a green thumb, particularly with her mums and tomatoes.  Mary Ann is survived by her sisters Andrea Shawley of Brentwood and Linda Kutsenkow of Clairton; her sister-in-law Martina Rabickow of Whitehall; her nieces and nephews Christine Wallace, Ricky Rabickow, Michael A. Shawley, Amy and Leslie Kutsenkow,  and Patrick Shawley; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.  Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother Nick Rabickow, her long time companion Andy Gregg, and her nephew Nicky Rabickow.

Card Club.  Previously, she was a Kolo dancer with her husband for the former Balkan Dance Group, which performed at The Syria Mosque and Kennywood.  She was also Miss Serbian Day at Kennywood Park in 1958 and, in her spare time, enjoyed harness racing and slots at the Meadows.  Diana is survived by her husband Milan "Jerry" Drobac, Jr.; her children Milana Drobac of Jefferson Hills and Michael (Amanda) Drobac of Yardley; her grandchildren Nicholas Kye, Michaela, and Camila Drobac; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and many Kumovi.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her four siblings Zvonko, Alex and Gabriel Medich and Yelena Cheke.

He was an electronics repairman, mechanic, craftsman, and self-taught pilot who had a passion for anything related to flying.

Carl Johnson, 76, was born September 15, 1943 to the late Charles and Sindora (Williams) Johnson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Carl  departed this life on  July 30, 2020 in his home. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Johnson, sister, Renne Woodard, brother Ward Williams, and twin brother, Charles  Johnson.  

Carl graduated from high school and shortly after, was inducted into the United States Army for two years. During the course of his life, Carl was a hard worker. He retired from National Tube Works and the Maintenance Department at Century III Mall. His family remembers the words of wisdom he gave to everyone he knew and met.

Betty was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi site. She had a friendly word for everyone she met, and she went by "Gram" to many. He loved hunting and fishing and was also a certified Scuba Diver Instructor. Greg's favorite hobby though was sitting in his chair and watching tv.

She is survived by her sister, Hannah (Harry) Lewis of Morgantown, WV; nieces and nephews, Harry (April) Lewis of Bruceton Mills, WV, Kim (Marty) Pataky of Sterling, VA, Jayme Hess of Morgantown, WV and Kristen Hall of Morgantown, WV; also, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. She and her husband designed their A-frame home in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. She was a lover of books, music, travel, and the arts. She dedicated her life to creating a supportive, nurturing and creative environment for her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Gretchen is survived by her three children -- Suzie (of Schenectady, NY), Ben (“Peek,” of Pittsburgh), and Flip (of Jefferson Hills) – and six grandchildren (Brian Marion, Laura Benack, Jenny Marion, Benny Benack III, Nicole Benack, and Jake Benack).  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Suzanne Phillips, Charles (Bud) Phillips, and Betty (Phillips) Dudiak.

Willis F. O'Neil Jr. went to be with the Lord on July 30,2020. Willis was born on December 7, 1929 in Pricedale, Pa. He was the eldest son of the late Willis and Leona (Simon) O'Neil. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 38 years by General Motors Fisher Body and was a member of Local Union 544. Willis was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, the FCLSA SO77 of McKeesport, Irwin Moose Lodge 293 and a fifty year member of the FM&A Polaris Lodge. He was also a member of the Model A Restorer's Club, an avid traveler, camper and hunter. He enjoyed model trains, model planes and antique cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Beverly; his brother, Edwin Lee; sister, Kay Otley; and his daughter Lee Ann Gramus. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years and best friend, Mary Anne O'Neil; a son, Geary Lee O'Neil; two grandsons, several nieces, nephews and his canine companions Danny Boy and Miss Poppy. Private services were held at the Belle Vernon Cemetery with Chaplain Tony Richardson-Eckers from the Allegheny Health Network officiating. Dean Campbell, age 73, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Versailles Borough, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020.

Dean proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He was a long time member of the Grand Lodge of PA, F. & A.M. Post #375, a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Al-o-mon Forest Post #138, as well as, Scottish Rite in the Valley of Pittsburgh. Dean retired from Bombardier with over 30 years of service. Above all, he loved to travel and boat on the Yough Lake, where he was also a member of the Castaway Yacht Club. Dean will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.  

Dean is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Nadine (Paradise) Campbell. Brother of Gale (Jane Yelanich) Campbell of Harrison City, PA and Paul (Carlyn) Campbell of Summersville, Missouri. Dean is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Theodore (“Ted”) Andrew Govola, 93, known to those that love him as The Angel Man, of Nokomis, Florida and formerly of Glassport, Pennsylvania passed away on July 28, 2020 surrounded by his family in Pittsburgh, PA due to complications from the Wuhan Coronavirus.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Wojciechowski Funeral Home located at 640 Vermont Avenue, Glassport, PA 15045, with a prayer vigil to follow, and repast dinner starting at 7:00 pm at the American Legion in Glassport, PA.

Theodore was born in Monessen, PA to Michael Govola and Mary Govola (née Marchok) on October 9, 1926. He married his first wife, Laura Govola (née Kroll) on May 6, 1950 with whom he had four children. Later, he married his second wife, Flora (“Flo”) Govola (née Baron) and was married to her for 32 years before her death.

He worked for the Copperweld Corporation in Glassport, PA for over 30 years, owned and operated Deer’s Tavern in Forward Township, PA for a number of years, and worked as a data analyst for Nielsen Media Research in Oldsmar, FL for 16 years. However, his true passion was as a commercial and recreational pilot.

She was born in McKeesport on August 5th 1943 to the late William and Agnes Tachoir Rushe. Agnes was the loving wife of 54 years to the late Charles A. Barrett, who preceded her in death in 2018.

She is survived by sons; Charles (Sheri) Barrett, of Glassport, and Thomas (Gina) Barrett, of Dravosburg, grandchildren; Hannah and Brett, brothers: Robert (Lori) Rushe, of Duquesne, Ralph Rushe, of New Baltimore MI; sister: JoAnn Rushe, of Glassport, and nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by sister, Ruth Rushe, and brothers, William Rushe, Thomas Rushe, and Terry Rushe.

She was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Parish in Glassport. She enjoyed many things such as reading, crafts, puzzles, cooking, baking, and seeing her grandchildren.

She graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1975.  She obtained her degree in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979 and taught for 40 years at Saint Rita's, Clairton Central Catholic/Saint Clare of Assisi, and mostly recently Saint Agnes in West Mifflin.

She will forever be remembered as a loving Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Godmother, Aunt, and Friend to all that knew her and will be greatly treasured in everyone's hearts. Julie's life will be always be tied to her being one of the most influential educators to every student to whom she gave the gift of learning.

Donald was the owner and operator of Spang's Landscaping and Tree Farms for over 54 years. He will always be remembered as the "Tree Man" throughout the McKeesport area.

Every year, you could find him on Hartman Street, in McKeesport, trimming and providing the community with the perfect tree to celebrate the Christmas Season. Don could tell you the name of any tree just by looking at the leaves, but his specialty was growing and providing the perfect pine tree for the Holiday Season. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Don loved his loyal pet dog, "Robbie." His greatest joys were his family and serving the community for over 54 years.
