Nick Yaroshuk, age 90, of White Oak, died December 10, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born December 30, 1934, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Nikolai and Estelle (Gezovich) Yaroshuk and husband of Joan (Brinza) Yaroshuk for 67 years. Nick proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his commitment to duty and service. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He had a successful career at Westinghouse as an electrical engineer, where his talents took him around the globe, allowing him to connect with people and cultures far and wide.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nick was known for his nurturing spirit and dedication to education. He shared his knowledge as a night school instructor at the Community College of Allegheny County and Carnegie Mellon University, inspiring future generations of engineers. After retirement, he continued to contribute to the field as a consultant for a tool and die company in Turtle Creek. Nick was an avid walker, relishing the tranquility of his daily miles through White Oak. However, his greatest joy came from his family. He cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by daughters, Cathie (Kevin) Kaminsky, Debi (Tony) Rausch, Lynn (Drew) Tucci, Amy (Bryan) Krazel, Beth Yaroshuk, and Cheryl McCutcheon; grandchildren, Paige Haughey, Travis Haughey, Erica Perri, Max Kaminsky, Sam Kaminsky, Harlee Rausch, Nikki Zimmerman, Zac Tucci, Faith Krazel, and Colten McCutcheon; great-grandsons, Jackson and Silas; brother, Dennis Carr, and sister Gerry Waechter and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Razny, John Yaroshuk and Daniel Carr.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church.
