She is survived by her sister, Jackie (Stephen) Slinski of McKeesport, brothers, Richard (Cindy) Clawson of West Jefferson Hills, and Robert J. (Beth Ann) Clawson and Charles D. She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp., a former lunch aid at Elizabeth Elementary School and she was an avid Steelers fan. She loved spending time with her family, never missed an episode of The Young & the Restless, and also loved cats. Born October 4, 1943 in Glassport, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Nellie (Boczar) Marcus. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Irwin “Butch” Babyak; daughter, Cheryl (Gregg) Maley of Elizabeth Twp.; sons, Michael Babyak of Baldwin and Joseph Babyak of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Bobby and Troy Maley and Samantha and Taylor Babyak; great-grandchildren, Jude Maley and Lacey Babyak; also, nieces and nephews. John Francis Remetta 76, of Monroeville, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Friday May 29, 2020 at his home. He was born in Glassport on January 2nd, 1944 to the late John J. Remetta and Regina Yeash Remetta. John is survived by his brother James E. Remetta of Glassport and his nieces Regina Remetta of Pocono Mountain, and Jennifer Brown of Altoona, nephews, Loren (Noel) Remetta, and Timothy (Pam) Brown of Yadley, PA, as well as his great niece Caroline and great nephews Mateo, and Rafael Remetta of West Hampton, NY, and brother-in-law Donald Brown of Yardley, PA. John was preceded in death by his sister Clementine Brown. He was a member of the Queen of The Rosary Church in Glassport. John’s favorite things to do were to play volleyball, and racquet ball as well as follow his nephew Loren’s successful ice hockey career at Penn State University. He was an avid follower of all Pittsburgh professional sports teams. John was a huge health food fanatic and took great pride in his own health and wellbeing. He was a proud uncle and great uncle and loved his family dearly.

Thomas J. Eddy,  95, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 11, 1924 in Republic and was the son of the late Samuel G. and Minnie (Obertots) Eddy.   He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Versailles Croatian Club. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1942 and served in the Navy during WWII. He graduated from the Sonar Training Station in Key West, FL, and earned a second class petty officer rating as a Sonar Man. He served on the USS Bates at Normandy, Iwo Jima, and survived the ship's sinking at Okinawa. He was active in Sports with the Crimson and 3rd Ward Bulldog football teams, several softball clubs and as a McKeesport Umpire's Association umpire. He retired from US Steel Duquesne Works in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Regosh) Eddy. They were married in St. Peter and Paul Church in Duquesne and enjoyed 72 years of  happiness together in a wonderful marriage.

Charles Franklin Fahlor, 91 of Glassport, passed away on May 24, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Pittsburgh.  He was born Nov. 21, 1928 in Manorville, Pa to the late Frank Miles Fahlor and Maude Peacock Fahlor.  He was in the US Navy as a 1st class petty officer, as a radar instructor and deployed on the Newport News, a heavy cruiser.  He was also a member of the Glassport Jets Roller Hockey team; co-owner of the Palace Roller Rink in New Eagle, Pa. He worked at the Clairton Mill, then transferred to Caracas, Venezuela, where he became co-owner of a wood business called Madeira Tropical.  He worked in the family business for many years called the Glassport News Depot, which he eventually became owner of.  He also had a successful candle business called Fahlor International, Candles by Charles. He made center pieces for the University of Pitt, Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers.  He also made candles for the famous sportscasters, as well as famour actors, such as Dale Robertson, Fred McMurray and Ray Bolger, which he has photographes with.  He also was the owner of the Showboat Lounge in Glassport and the Game Room.  He was a butcher for Balsomo’s Meat Market in McKeesport.  He also drove taxi and was a driver for access.  He retired with over 20 years service as a security guard at Whemco in Homestead.

Roberta M. Davis, 84 of McKeesport died May 25, 2020.  She went to college in E. Providence, RI at Zion Bible Institute.  Upon completion, she worked at a church in Portsmouth NH.  In 1960 her marriage to George Hockhousen led them to Springfield MO where she was employed at the Assembly of God Headquarters.  Later they moved to E. Providence, RI and were employed at Zion Bible Institute where she taught various subjects.  In 1985 Roberta moved into the elementry education level of ministry, teaching Kindergarten and first grade.  When her husband of 35 years died the Lord sent another Christian friend along, they were married Nov. 1995.  In addition to her teaching ministry she was an ordained minister and co pastored several churches with her husband.  She was saved at an early age and has dedicated her life to the Lord's work.  After her divorce in 2004, Roberta lived with her daughter, Deborah in Boca Raton FL for 8 years.  Roberta moved home to McKeesport in 2012 to be near her siblings.  She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (John) Mireles and son George (Pam) Hockhousen; grandchildren Michael, Stephen and Matthew Wilson, Sarah Downs and Rachel Jones; great grandchildren Ellie Downs and Maddie Wilson; sisters Pam Jones, Ardele Lockwood and Esther Stevenson and brothers David and Don Castor.  Roberta was a member of Glassport Assembly of God Church and was a girl scout leader and a den mother for the Boy Scouts.  A celebration of her life will be held at Glassport Assembly of God Church on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

Lodge #91, an avid softball player, started the Holy Name softball team in the mid 1980’s, loved to dance and watch his grandchildren participate in sports and his house and pool were always open to friends and neighbors. A Duquesne University graduate majoring in math and science, he was a 20-year employee of Kaufmann's after he retired as a roller at U.S. Steel Clairton Works after more than 40 years. An Army veteran of World War II where he flew a glider, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European African Medal, Eastern Campaign Medal with six Bronze Stars, and fought at Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, and Omaha Beach. He and his troops were responsible for the fall of Eagle's Nest (Hitler's house). Born May 19, 1923 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Luka and Manda (Borich) Strinich, and husband of his beloved wife of 68 years, Catherine (Gatto) Strinich, who died July 6, 2019. He is survived by daughters, Catherine (Jim) Lowery of Peter’s Twp. and Denise (Chuck) Longo-Hendzel of Elizabeth; beloved grandpet, Opie; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Deborah Baxley, 67, of McKeesport died May 13, 2020.  She is the daughter of the late Alfred and Edith (Hill) Kremer and beloved wife of the late Joseph Baxley.  She is survived by her daughter Debbie Jo (Tim) Coddington; son Jason Riley (Susan) Baxley; grandchildren Niccole (Brian) Baxley, Justin Coddington and Brandon Coddington; sisters Dorothy Bartko, Sally (Rich) Saporito and Christine Cannon; brothers Carl Kremer and Albert (Paulette) Kremer and her fur babies Boo, Hunter, Lucky, Biscuit and Lilly.  She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Kremer.  Deborah was a longtime employee at Hills and Ames Department Stores in Duquesne and was currently working at TJ Maxx  in the Waterfront.  She was a member of the Calvary  Baptish Church, where she taught Sunday School and was an avid reader and loved to play games on her computer and tablet.  Due to the strict guidelines we must adhere to a this crucial time, visitation will be private.  Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne

“Mrs. Bernice” was born on July 8, 1924, in Sumter, South Carolina. In 1940, she met and married Henry Truesdale in Sumter, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter, they joined the Great Migration and came North, seeking a better life. They eventually settled in Duquesne, Pa. where they became staunch members of Macedonia Baptist Church. Their union produced 5 children:  Henrietta, Doris Ann, Larry, Veneda and Delores. While raising their 5 children, Bernice was also employed for many years first at Presbyterian Hospital, then McKeesport Hospital until she retired.

Bailey and Rita (McConeghy) Ehland.  Tom was a graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School Class of '61.  Prior to his retirement, Tom was a sales executive for World Book Encyclopedia and later was an over the road truck driver.  He was a veteran of the US Navy where he was a torpedo man on the USS George C. Marshall Nuclear Submarine in the early 1960's.   He was a member of the House of Faith Church in West Newton and was a faithful Christian all of his life and loved his family.  He enjoyed music and singing karaoke and was a great dancer.  He loved entertaining and was the life of any party.

During that time, Nancy was an active member of the East Allegheny Business Association and also on the board. Nancy was a strong, independent woman who enjoyed working in the man’s world of construction. Nancy and Red also enjoyed traveling across the country on their motorcycles and were married for 33 years until Red’s death in 2006.

Philip Stewart Slaugh, on May 1, 2020, age 88, son of the late William Edward and Pearl Schiffer Slaugh, brother of the late Lawrence Andrew Slaugh.  Survived by wife Carolyn Ferguson Slaugh and son Donald William Slaugh.  Philip was a graduate of what is now Carnegie Mellon University with three degrees in music and education.  A retired music teacher with the West Mifflin Area School District, he was a member and past president of the Pittsburgh Musicians Union.  Phil played string bass with the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra, and many church and community concerts, especially the McKeesport Symphony.  Due to the pandemic there will be no visitation, and private burial.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC  20090-6011 or to the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead in care of Lisa Toth, 517 Brierly Lane, Munhall, PA  15120.  Funeral arrangements are in charge of Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132.

 Anna M. Borkowski, 94, of Glassport, died peacefully at the home of her daughter Monica and son-in-law, Joseph Gatchie on April 30,2020.  She was born Jan. 4, 1926 in Taylor, Pa.  Daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Falatko) Super.  She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Borkowski.  She was preceded in death by her brother Monsignor Joseph Super and sister Susan Vitullo.  Anna is survived by her daughter Monica (Joseph) Gatchie of Glassport, Pa, Joseph (Peggy) Borkowski of Boyers, Pa, John (Joni) Borkowski of Port Vue, Pa and Edward (the late Karen) Borkowski of Stanhope, NJ; also 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Anna worked during WWII at National Tube McKeesport and Christy Park McKeesport.  She was co-owner of Super's Beauty Shop with her sister Sue in Glassport.  In 1973, Anna worked for Equibank's proof department in McKeesport.  She was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish in Glassport, Christian Mothers Society and Rosary Society.  We would like to give a special thanks to Gallagher Hospice for their kind, compassionate and loving care.  Also, a special thank you to Theresa and her team at Senior Care McKeesport.  Due to the strict guidelines we must adhere to at this crucial time, visitation will be private.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.  In lieu  of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gallagher Hospice, 1370 Washington Pike, Pa 15017.

Born in Pittsburgh, March 23, 1958, he was the son of Madeline (Belovich) Fleegle and the late Richard L. Fait. Mr. Fait was a retired mechanic for the Port Authority of Allegheny County and a member of the Mifflin Social Club, West Mifflin. Besides his mother he is survived by a son, Stephen (Alisha) Fait, a brother, Dwight R. Fait, and a granddaughter, Emma G. Fait.
