William John Betters, 95, of Florida, formerly of Port Vue, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, FL.  He was born  December 1, 1924 in Port Vue, a son of the late Martin and Eva Jacobs Betters. 

Prior to his retirement, Bill was a self-employed plumber and contractor and was a veteran of the US Army Air Force having served during WWII.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Kurkoski Betters; and son, William John Betters Jr.  He is survived by his son, Doug Betters; daughter, Dianne Quincy and her husband, Carey; grandchildren, Bree Betters Teale and her husband, Huw, Samantha Betters, Katrina Betters; and grandsons, Dylan and Jonathan Teale.  Services are private.  Arrangements were made by the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Autismspeaks.org in memory of William.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
