Violet Mae Carlett, 92, was called to heaven on Monday, May 4, 2020.  Vi was born October 6, 1927, in Warren, Pennsylvania.  In addition to her parents and a sister, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan, and son, David.  Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Pogue (Mark) and grandchildren, Lauren and Nathan.  Also surviving are brother-in-law, Owen Ferguson and nephew, Scott Ferguson (Michelle), and great nieces Chloe and Cara.  Vi graduated from Warren High School, Eastern Nazarene College and The Pennsylvania State University.   She taught first grade in the Warren County School District for 34 years.  She loved teaching children to read.  Vi was a published author writing children's reading materials for the American Book Company.  She was also a successful business woman and owner of Vi's Candy Nook.  Vi professed her life to Christ at an early age.  She was a member of the Warren First Church of the Nazarene and most recently the Norwin Church of the Nazarene.

Vi loved working in the church and served as past church pianist, Sunday school teacher, missionary president, children's worker and member of Prime Time.  Vi enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, gardening and playing her piano.  She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  The treasures of her life were her grandchildren.  Vi lived to serve her savior, Jesus Christ, and her life was a beautiful testimony to all who knew her.  Services are private.  Arrangements were made by the James W.
