Lorraine (Miss Money) Hughes Holmes of Duquesne, PA, departed this life on July 6, 2020. Lorraine was born July 20, 1936 in Smithdale, PA and was the daughter of the late Virgil Robertson, Sr. And Jessie Lee Vincent Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband James Holmes, Sr., sister Geraldine Stephens, brothers, Virgil Robertson, James Robertson, Willie Robertson, Clifford Robertson, and Leonard Robertson, and stepson David Dickerson.

Lorraine, a graduate of Duquesne High School, was employed by the Allegheny Health Department working with pre-school children and Magee Women’s Hospital of Oakland, PA. She left her nursing career at the age of 51 to acquire an Associate’s degree in Social Service. She loved helping people with anything that they needed help with. She would go to AA meetings, drug counseling, and anything else that would help a person out. She held skating parties for the children in her neighborhood, sold ice cups to help children pay for their tickets that couldn’t afford it. She wanted to be a wealth of walking information for her community. She also loved taking care of the sick cancer patients and bringing children in her home that needed a place to stay. Whether they needed clothes, baths, food, and just a place to sleep, she was willing to provide that.

Vince Kelly Sr., 59, was born on July 15, 1960 to the late Charlie Kelly and Dolores Leggett in Chicago, Ill. Vince passed away on July 1, 2020 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by father, Charlie Kelly, mother, Dolores Leggett and brother Erik Westbrook.

He graduated from McKeesport Area High School and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. Vince worked at General Motors for some years. He loved cars, sports, And loved to laugh and make everyone smile.

Celeste Fullard Green

Celeste Fullard Green passed away on July 3, 2020, in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. Celeste was born in Timmonsville, South Carolina to Beatrice and Clarence on July 3, 1931.  She was one of ten children.  She had a loving relationship with her sisters: Earlease, Ardella, Annie, Shirley and Febrey and with her brothers:  Kenneth, Clarence Jr., James and Curtis.   She married Archie Green in 1956 in Pittsburgh who passed away in 1974.

In the early ‘60s, Celeste became a dedicated baptized Jehovah’s Witness and served faithfully until she passed.  She had a long and successful career at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh for 25 years, where she excelled in her position as a Labor and Delivery Assistant.

Major A. Mason, III, Ph.D, 79, son of Gordon and Nannie Mason Sr., was born on July 15, 1940 in McKeesport, PA. He departed this life on June 28, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ann Mason. He leaves behind his daughter, Arianna Mason; son, Major A. Mason, IV; brother, Gordon Mason, Jr. of White Oak, PA; sisters, Margaret Friend, Sylvia Carter, Lorraine Turner; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dr. Mason served as the Co-editor with Ralph Bangs, Ph.D., of The State of Black Youth in Pittsburgh, a 562-page book printed by the University of Pittsburgh for the Urban League of Pittsburgh, Inc. in 1997. It was very well received by former University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Marc Nordenberg who purchased 210 copies for the Board of Trustees.  Dr. Mason also served as the Editor of the Youth Edition, which contains excerpts from the larger book told in story form.  The 60-page Youth Edition is entitled "It's Just About Making the Right Choices."

Born in Duquesne, June 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Hayduk) Balombiny. Beloved wife of the late Edgar A. Selznick, she is survived by a daughter, Kathleen McCormick, a son, David Selznick, a brother, Francis Balombiny, one granddaughter, Jacqueline Fraas, a great grandchild, Carson Fraas, a nephew, Edward Balombiny, and a great niece, Heather Myer. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Selznick was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Edward Balombiny, a sister, Irene Bartos, and a nephew, Jan Balombiny.

Corrine S. Timko, 93, of Deland, Fl died Monday, June 22, 2020. She was born in Versailles Boro, Pa. Corrine was the daughter of the late Homer Sweeney and Mary Belle (Exton) Reynolds. She was the wife of the late John Timko from Orange City, Fla. who passed in February of 1998.

She is survived by her loving children: John D (Bonnie) Timko of Elizabeth, Pa., Rebecca A Puskaric of Winter Springs, Fl., Susan M (Jerry) Bunda of Moon Twp., Pa., and Barbara L Frazee of Oviedo, Fla. Corrine is also survived by her loving grandchildren (7) and great-grandchildren (6): Chassidy (Shawn) Wilson, Blake and Tanner of Winter Springs, Fl. Jason (Erin) Bunda, Bryce and Cameron of Moon Twp., Pa. Heather (Matthew Lignelli) Timko, Alessandra and Christiana of Monongahela, Pa. Stacy (Jeff) Beck of Washington, Pa. Dillon Timko of Elizabeth, Pa., Eric Puskaric of Winter Springs, Fl., and Anthony Frazee of Oviedo, Fla. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

"Ronnie Mac" McKeever, age 62 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.  Born October 26, 1957 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Harold "Irv" and Lois Jean (Nelson) McKeever.  A recipient of a BA in Administration of Justice from Penn State University, Ronald worked for more than 30 years as a juvenile probation officer for the Allegheny County Juvenile Courts and also as a patio host at Stone Villa Wineries in Acme.  He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and generous man; a wonderful father and grandfather; and for always having a genuine love of people.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years Debra A. (Balocik) McKeever; his children Laurie (Greg) Geibel of North Huntingdon and Randy (Cari) Winkler of Baldwin; his grandchildren Dylan, Abby, Grace, and Ben; his siblings James, Robert, Gary, Richard, and John "Jack" McKeever and Nancy Lou Shaffer McKeever; and many nieces and nephews.  Ronald was also a wonderful father to four cats currently and many more through the years.

Dooen, 70, of Port Vue, died July 5, 2020.  He is the son of the late John and Maryann Dooen.  He is survived by his wife Donna (Younkin) Dooen; sons Patrick (Renee) Dooen and Daniel Dooen; step daughter Katherine (Corey) Winters; grandchildren Ryan, Jared and Allyson Dooen; step granddaughter Avery Winters and sister Linda (Michael) Handra.  Dennis was retired from the VA; was a member of TCA and served in the Marine Corp.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Wed. from 1 to 7.  A funeral blessing will be held Thurs. 10:00 am in the funeral home with Father Tom Lewandowski.  Interment following New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Donofrio Kostyzak. In addition to his parents he is survived by daughters Dania Kostyzak, of Glassport and Paige Fields of McKeesport, son Richard D. (Erin) Kostyzak, Jr. of Freeport, grandchildren, Richard III and Evelyn, brother Mike “Zak” Kostyzak, of Glassport, and Melanie Bradley, the mother of his two children. Rich was preceded in death by his brother, William Kostyzak., Jr. He enjoyed music of all kinds, reading, and watching historical documentaries.
