Shirley Flanigan, 77, of Elizabeth Township passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025. She was born at home in Blythedale on May 23, 1948 to the late William and Ann (Frabizio) Coffer. She was the loving wife to the late Francis "Butch" Flanigan, who passed away October 22, 2017. She worked 40+ years as a lab technician for UPMC McKeesport Hospital, and held other caretaker positions with local nursing homes, even after retirement in 2007. Shirley was a WMBU Social Club member, as well as a member at the Sutersville Moose - always surrounded by great friends and family. She was known to be a huge social butterfly, and had a funny personality. She is survived by her sister, Rosalee "Cookie" Rodgers of Meadville; and various cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Thomas William Flanigan; and by her brother, John Coffer (surviving wife, Peggy). Paula L. Grice, age 65 of North Versailles, passed away at home on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born September 20, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Paul S. Grice and Anna Grice (Larson) McQuiston, and stepdaughter of the late Harold McQuiston. Paula was active with the Step-by-Step Program and the Miracle League Baseball Program, known to coaches and players as Twice as Nice, Paula Grice. Paula was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, insisting that her wardrobe consist of only black and gold. She loved playing bingo and made many friends at the games. She is survived by her siblings Jeffrey (Chris) Grice of Spring, TX, John (Dorothy) Grice of Cleveland, OH, Debra Grice Corr of Monroeville, Dawn (Steve) Hvozdik of Port Vue, Diane (Leonard “Butchie”) Tucci of North Versailles, the late Robert (Lori) Grice and Paul S. (Tammy) Grice, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and the family of her late stepfather Harold McQuiston. She was a summer custodian with the Upper St. Clair School District and a team member at Chick-Fil-A in Pleasant Hills. Kayleigh was also a probationary member of the Clairton Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the Elizabeth Forward Marching Band and Indoor Color Guard. Born April 2, 2005, in Racine, WI, she was a daughter of Douglas R. and Janice L. (Hansen) Brosius. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Sydney Brosius of Elizabeth Twp.; brother, Tanner Brosius of Elizabeth Twp.; maternal grandmother, Cheryl Hansen of Racine, WI; paternal grandparents, Walter and Linda Brosius of Johnstown, PA; Aunt and Uncle Tim and Sue Street of Racine, WI; Aunt Kristy Brosius of Arlington, VA, Uncle Eric Brosius of Walden, NY and Uncle Tim and Aunt Megan Oakes of Harrisburg, PA. James A. LaFrankie, affectionately known as “Rambo” and “Jamie”, age 61, of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at home. Catholic by faith, he was a former member of St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth Twp. and a proud Veteran, serving with the Marine Corps. He worked as a roofer for several years and always enjoyed going to the Shamrock with his friends. A diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he never missed a game, loved softball, gardening, and always strived for perfection in anything he did. Born in McKeesport on March 4, 1964, he was a son of the late Peter and Fay (Dequenne) LaFrankie. He is survived by his life companion, Denise Pellegrino; three grandchildren, Emily Lombardi, Ciana Gori, and Dylan Hawthorne; three siblings, Natalie (Gary) Wolfgang of Lincoln Boro, Carla Hobaugh of Jefferson Hills, and Marie (Larry) Schmidt of Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew; also several cousins and friends. Nancy Cox Cochrane, 96, of Elizabeth Township passed away peacefully in her home of 60 years, surrounded by her children. She was born on November 4, 1928 in McKeesport, PA to William J Cox Jr and Elisabeth Young Cox. After attending McKeesport Public Schools through 10 th grade, she went to Grier School, a boarding school in Tyrone, PA where she enjoyed horseback riding and was proud to make the first team in field hockey. She started college at Western College in Oxford, Ohio (now part of Miami University of Ohio), and after two years, she convinced her mother to let her transfer to Pennsylvania State College in State College, PA (now Pennsylvania State University). She joined the Delta Delta Delta sorority and graduated in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Home Economics where she focused on early childhood education. Nancy married George A Cochrane, whom she had met at Penn State, and together they raised four children in Elizabeth Township. Known for her abundant energy, Nancy filled many volunteer roles over the years including PTA fundraiser, Brownie troop leader, and local American Field Service member bringing foreign exchange students to Elizabeth Forward High School and sending EF students abroad. She served in many capacities at Mt Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, including as Deacon and Elder. She volunteered for decades at the McKeesport Hospital Gift Shop (and later the UPMC McKeesport Gift Shop) raising money for the hospital as part of the Junior Committee. She also worked for 25 years as the office manager of her husband’s business. In later years she joined the Garden Club of McKeesport, working in the rose gardens at Renziehausen Park through her 80’s. Nancy was predeceased by her husband George and her brother William J Cox III.

Katherine "Nina" Koutsouliou, age 83, of White Oak, died at home on July 23, 2025 with family by her side. Born February 28, 1942, in Rhodes, Greece. She was the daughter of the late Theodoris and Irene Drakou and the wife of George Koutsouliou for 63 years.
Katherine devoted over 30 years of her life working at Giant Eagle in White Oak, spending most of those years at the bakery.
She also had a passion for cooking and baking delightful Greek dishes, which she took great joy in preparing for family gatherings and celebrations. Her culinary skills not only filled the bellies of those she loved but also warmed their hearts, as she cherished every moment spent in the kitchen.
A proud member of the Annunciation of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Katherine's faith was an integral part of her life. This community played a significant role in her journey, providing a space of comfort and connection where she shared her love for her heritage. Nina's family was her greatest treasure. She took immense joy in caring for her children and grandchildren, pouring her love into their lives and creating indelible memories that will be cherished forever. She was a selfless person putting the needs of others above her own.

Jeffrey "Fro" Andrew Babesh, age 57, of Clairton passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at home. Born April 6, 1968 in Levittown, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph David Babesh and Karen Arlene (Guffey) Myers. Jeffrey worked in the metal shop at Kirk Lester in Clairton for 3 years and formerly worked as a plastic fabricator at BAW Plastics for 20 years. He was a member of VFW #803 and the Sons of Columbus, both in Clairton. Jeffrey will be remembered as a kind and helpful person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He was an amazing person, a pistol, extremely hard working, wonderful family man and friend. Besides his mother he is survived by his siblings Joseph Babesh of Clairton, Arlene M. (Thomas) Leedom of Lancaster, and Tony (Tiffany) Cisco, Jr. of Clairton; niece Jessica; nephews Corey and Riley; stepfather Tony Cisco, Sr.; uncle Bob (Jamie) Guffey of McKeesport; and friend Jason Davis of West Newton. Joseph A. Villi, Jr., 53, of Elizabeth Township passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was born in McKeesport on February 16, 1972 to Joseph A. Villi, Sr., and the late Ruth (Beahm) Villi. Joe graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School, attended Pitt University, followed by becoming a licensed Master Plumber - working for Mongiovi & Son, leading up to his illness. In his youth, Joe was a sports fanatic, playing baseball from a young age all the way through college. He also wrestled, played football, and competitive darts. In high school, he was a 4x State Champion and National Champion in Academic Games. He is survived by his father, Joseph A. She was also a loving caretaker to her two fur babies, Holly and Charlotte, who never left her side. Becky's love extended beyond her family - she had faith in God and was truly a selfless soul.
