George S. Husar

George graduated from Duquesne High School in 1975. He joined the Army in 1976 and was deployed to Darmstadt, Federal Republic of Germany, which was a subordinate unit of the 130th Engineer Brigade, V Corps. His unit was Company C, 547th Engineer Battalion (combat) located in the Central Rhine Valley at Kelly Barracks. George spent 3 years in Darmstadt and left in 1979 as a Sergeant with an honorable discharge.
George worked for Flowserve Corporation, Irving, Texas (Ingersoll-Rand/Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps) as a pump mechanic for 38 years before retiring in 2021.
He was not a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, in West Mifflin, but he assisted in the making of their roast beef and stuffed pepper dinners and in making cheregis. He was a member of Steel Town Corvette Club and would help anyone if needed.
George is beloved husband of Loraine “Lory” (Hrizo) Husar for 43 years on October 18th. He is survived by his 3 birds-Scarlett, Snowy & Kiwi; brothers, John (Roxanne) Husar and Paul Husar; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John S. & Catherine Husar and brothers Andrew and Thomas Husar.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER AND ALLAN J. WEBER, FUNERAL DIRECTORS. A Blessing Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 12 noon, with the Rev. Michael Faix officiating. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin, with Military Honors.
