Marlene Jenkins Pryer died Jan. 14, 2017. She was born May 2, 1952. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Tunie Funeral Home, Inc., 218 E. 11th Ave., Homestead. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 716 Walnut St., McKeesport. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Restland Memotial Park, 990 Patton St., Monroeville.

Matthew G. Gazdich, age 38, of Christy Park died January 12, 2017 at home. Born June 6, 1978 in McKeesport, he was the son of George P. Gazdich and Dagmar (Hansen) Oglesby. Matthew worked at the CCAC South Campus as a computer lab technician and taught Java programming. He attended Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. He loved his animals, Cujo, Mouseface, Sadie, and Cocoa. He enjoyed writing, trail bicycling, and his “pen collection.”

Judy Schmidt died peacefully January 13, 2017. She led a very blessed life and was rewarded with two wonderful sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law and a spectacular grandson. John G. “Lobo” Barretta, 88, of McKeesport, died Jan. 11, 2017, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Mar. 6, 1928, in Turtle Creek, he was the son of the late Earnest L. and Mary (Lebanno) Barretta and the husband of Aurora (Marchetti) Barretta.
John was a member of St. Patrick Church. A U.S. army veteran, he served as a medic in the Korean War. Returning home from overseas, he became a barber in Wilmerding, a trade that he would continue, at least part time, for the rest of his life.

James “Jim” “Fizzer” Noris O’Bryon, 86, of West Mifflin, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born August 22, 1930, in McKeesport, to the late Clifford and Margaret Lloyd O’Bryon. James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Harrison O’Bryon; daughter, Marsha (Douglas) Murphy of Chantilly, VA; grandsons, Matthew & Kyle Murphy also of Chantilly, VA and loyal dog “Bear”. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eileen Baron, Patricia Minnicks; brother, Lloyd O’Bryon. Visitation will take place on Sunday January 15, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. VIRGINIA S. FAIR, 70, of Monongahela, died Jan. 3, 2017. She is the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Dodd) Moss. She is survived by her son David (Christine) Cooke of Liberty Boro and grandson Daniel Cooke. Virginia was an accomplished pianist, writer and teacher and received her Master's degree from West Virginia University. She loved animals and, in fact, participated in the rescue and rehabilitation of many animals throughout her life. She was a lover of life and believed in helping those less fortunate than herself.
