Karen Hoffman, 60, of Baldwin, formerly of 10th Ward (McKeesport), passed away at Jefferson Hills Manor on Tuesday January 17, 2017.  She was born July 30, 1956 in McKeesport to the late Frank and Verna Gaffron Ring.  Karen is survived by daughter, Sharon E. Topley of Elizabeth; sons, Sean Hurley, Brian (Laura) Hurley of Glassport; sister, Doreen (Bob) Peretic of Irwin; brothers, Ronald (Chris) Ring of Valencia, Frank (Pam) Ring of Hermine, Ken (Kim) Ring of McKeesport, David Ring of McKeesport; seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed using a C.B Radio (Sugar), making candy, baking, and color painting.  Arrangements have been entrusted to S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N 6th Street, Clairton,  PA   15025. He was a Navy veteran serving during Vietnam. He was a member of the Clairton Steel Works Patchers Golf League and the Independent Men's League at White Oak Bowl.

Walter “Buck” Charles Salka, 81, of Clairton, formerly of Bunola, passed away at home on January 16, 2017.  He was born June 1, 1935, in Bunola, to the late John and Sophie Fetchen Salka. He is survived by daughter, Melissa A. Lees of Elizabeth; son Carl (Samantha) Salka of Ramona, CA;  grandchildren, Gunner, Dallas & Summer Lees; brothers, Ted Salka & Frank Salka both of Bunola; and sister, Agnes Leskus of Bethel Park.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Joseph, Stanley, and Clarence Salka; sisters, Clare Krauss, Blanche Salka, Mary Lewis, and Helen Salka.  Walter served in the U S Airforce during the Korean War, was a member of the V.F.W, W.A.C Club and American Legion all in Clairton, and was retired from U.
