Domenico Spinozzi, age 90 of McKeesport, passed away at home on Thursday, July 4, 2019.  Born February 24, 1929 in Centerville, he was a son of the late Agostino and Giuseppina (Flammini) Spinozzi.  A retired maintenance man for the Union Railroad, Domenico was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the former St. Stephen's Parish, and a member of the Eleventh Ward Club, all of McKeesport.  He is survived by his wife Catherine L. (Tubbs) Spinozzi; his son Agostino Spinozzi, wife Linda, and their family Carmene and Bianca, all of North Huntingdon; and also nieces and nephews.

Sophia E. (Bialon) Churley, age 96, of North Versailles, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019. She was born May 11, 1923 in Bovard, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Bialon. She was a long-time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport. During World War II she worked as a mechanist at the Chicago Latrobe Plant in Chicago, Illinois. Later in life she helped with the Mercy Sisters of Pittsburgh at St. Xavier in Latrobe. She always enjoyed playing cards and bingo with the Senior Citizens group in North Versailles. She is survived by her children Scilene Niki (Sam) Mraz of Latrobe and Bernard Churley of Squirrel Hill; Grandchildren Carolyn and David (Alexis); sister Elizabeth (James) Annavella; and nieces and nephews especially Trish Porchiron and Daniel Pushic because of the time spent together.

Marzetta R. "Marz" Williams, 55, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Marzetta, affectionately known as “Marz”, was born October 9, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Eugene and Rosetta Mae Tillman Hammock.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Tyrone Williams, Jr., and siblings, Samantha Allen and Eugenia Hammock.

She worked as a Supervisor of Security at Duquesne University.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Paris Williams of Clairton, two grandchildren, and brother, Eugene Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a many other who called Marz a friend.

William S. Kuharski, age 75, of East McKeesport, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019. He was born February 9, 1944 in McKeesport, a son of the late Stanley and Jennie (Lenart) Kuharski. He was a long time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport. He was an Army veteran that went onto become the President of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul and was very proud of the 25 years that he spent as a member of the Society helping the needs of others in the Pittsburgh area. William Donald Link, age 75, of McKeesport, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  He was born in McKeesport on November 26, 1943 and is the son of the late Wilmer and Ruth Considine Link.  He was employed as a taxi driver in Denver, Colorado for many years eventually retiring back in McKeesport.  He enjoyed reading and trivia pursuit.  He was very knowledgeable and knew the lyrics to many songs. 

He is survived by children, Patrick Henry Link of Castle Rock, Colorado and Penny Leigh (Toby) Hoenshell of Parker, Colorado; grandchild Baleigh Kai Hoenshell; siblings, Richard John (Marlene) Link of California, Pennsylvania, Nancy Ruth Zmugg of Denver, Colorado, Thomas Martin (Nancy) Link of Mt. Lebanon, Mary Lou (Louis) Mazure of Fayetteville, Georgia, Kathryn Ann (Stephen) Petro of Kamiah, Idaho, Patricia Louise (Stephen) Foster of Baldwin;  many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, 1 great-great niece and 1 great-great nephew.

Paliscak, 82, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  She was born March 1, 1937 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Stephen and Julia Kapisak.  Ruth was a member of St. Agnes Parish and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Kapisak; sisters, Rose (Frank) Modrak and Mary (Frank) Opieloski.  She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George Paliscak; sons, David Paliscak and his wife, Sally, Daniel Paliscak and Christopher Paliscak, and his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Julie Puhl and her husband, Michael; sister, Patricia Race and her husband Ted; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church with Msgr. Karen Louise Boes, 63, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  She was born March 8, 1956 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Daley) Miller.  Karen was a graduate of Richland High School and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and oil painting and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a fan of Ellen DeGeneres and had the opportunity to attend the show in December of 2011 with her daughter Christy.  Karen was known for her generosity and gave to many charities.  In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis and Laura Daley; and sister, Judith Drosjack.  She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard Boes; sons, Mike Boes and his wife, Tracey, Nick Boesand his girlfriend Erica; daughter, Christy Mowerand her parnter Brenda; brother, Robert Miller and his wife, Denise; and grandchildren, Abigail, Bailey, Sandra, Tristan and Mason.  There will be no visitation as per Karen's wishes.  The family will hold a private  memorial service on the ocean to celebrate Karen's life.  Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Karen.  Arrangements made by the James W. Thomas "Tommy" Joseph Mawritz

 Thomas (Tommy) Joseph Mawritz, age 60, of Port Vue, PA formerly of Glassport, PA passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Born on September 11, 1958 in McKeesport, PA he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Campayno) Mawritz.

Tommy was a graduate of South Allegheny High School. He was a pre-press manager at Comprint Inc in Gaithersburg, MD. After spending 19 years in the Washington, DC area, Tommy returned home. Soon he became involved in coaching youth football with the South Allegheny Youth Football Association. He loved coaching and was recognized with the Pittsburgh Steelers MVP Award for his commitment to the Association and the players despite his many health issues. In addition, the Tom Mawritz Extra Effort Award was created by the Association and is given each year to the player who never quits trying. Tommy was also an avid Pitt fan and will be missed by all who knew him.

Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved brother Dr. Kenneth J Mawritz Sr. He is survived by his sister Nancy (Mawritz) George and her husband Joseph of Germantown, MD; sister-in-law Natalie (Shadwick) Mawritz of Collegeville, PA; nephews Kenneth Mawritz Jr. and his wife Mary of Havertown, PA, Jason George of Rockville, MD, Brendan George of New York City, NY, niece Holly L. Mawritz and her husband Jonathan Goodroad of Glenside PA; and his five grandnephews and niece Logan, Liam, Lucas, Levi and Madeleine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at Wojciechowski Funeral Home 640 Vermont Ave. Glassport, PA on Saturday July 20, 2019 from Noon to 1:30 pm, at which time a funeral blessing will be held. Burial will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.

Ann "Anna" Loizes, 98, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born August 23, 1920 in Steubenville, OH, and was the daughter of the late Stelios and Steliane (Yialouris) Bournos. She was the wife of the late James N. Loizes, Sr, who was the former Chief of Police in McKeesport. She was a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of White Oak and was a Sunday School Teacher and member of St. Markella Plilotochos Society. She was also a Sunshine Girl, that visited the homebound and hospitalized patients. Ann received the St. Photios Award for her dedicated service to her parish. During WWII when all the men went to war, she worked at Weirton Steel as a "Rosie the Riveter".
