Nathan K. Stonecipher

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully this morning at his son’s home in Irwin, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 62 years, Ellis Stonecipher. He was a loving father to his daughter Martha Stonecipher Gold and son-in-law Andrew Gold, and his son, Robert Russell Stonecipher and daughter-in-law Sherri DeMaria Stonecipher. He had four grandchildren: Lauren Ludovicy, Lindsay Penn, Nathan Stonecipher, Rachel Stonecipher, and one great-granddaughter, Judee Corvina. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Hightower, his half-brother, Steve Wilson, and countless other dear relatives and caring friends.

Nathan was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee on August 20, 1935. He was a popular athlete at Oliver Springs High School and was very active in the Oliver Springs Historical Society. In addition to his home in Tennessee, Nathan also lived for many years in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas, Nevada. Nathan will be laid to rest in the Oliver Springs Cemetery alongside his mother and father.

Mrs. Rosalie Duncan, 86, departed this life, May 26, 2018 at McKeesport Hospital. She was born May 24, 1932 in Sharpsburg, PA to parents; Mr. Eugene Fletcher Wright & Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Williams. Mrs. Duncan was foster parent to more than 30 children in McKeesport, PA.

The Louise Day Care was established & became a care center in McKeesport for many years in her home. She (Rosalie) was a well-respected woman of God who was a lifelong church member; who during illness joined Payne Chapel AME Church in Duquesne, PA under the Pastorate of The Rev. Dr. Helen M. Burton (Senior Pastor at the time).
Her favorite scripture: Psalm 23 & favorite songs were “Fragile Heart” by Yolonda Adams, and the well-known “Walk Around Heaven All Day”.
Mrs. Duncan was adorned with a beautiful smile; Her signature personality, and was never seen without it.

Preceded in death by her spouse, the well-known, late, Joseph Duncan, Jr. of McKeesport; and sons, Alexander Calvin Jordan of McKeesport, Robert Riley of Maine and Melvin Duncan of McKeesport.; She leaves to cherish her memories: A brother-Julius Wright, Sr. of Duquesne, A daughter- Jozette E. (Kent) Gates of McKeesport, stepdaughter- Martha L. Duncan of Pittsburgh, son- Joseph (Danna) Duncan, III of Pittsburgh, son- Darnell D.F. of Myrtle Beach, son Tyler T. of McKeesport, daughter- Darla R. (Isaac) Solomon Stephens of Albuquerque, NM, Grandchildren include: Karl K. Sullivan, II of McKeesport, Karlisha J.I. Washington of Myrtle Beach, Rosa McLaughlin of Pittsburgh, Larry Morris & Lashawn Grimes of Pittsburgh, C.J. Jordan of Maine, Josalee Pattillo of Fredericksburg, VA, Chyna M. Brown of Virginia, Aaron J. Barber of Virginia, Krysten Smith of Myrtle Beach, Bradley Tyler Simonson of McKeesport, host of nieces and nephews, God-Child- Ashante Nicole Kirby of Denver, CO, devoted friends- Ted, Mary Jane, and Rashad Kirby; LaVelle Murphy, and Antoinette Vining all of McKeesport.

She was born in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (nee Savidge) Showers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Baker; Uncles George Savidge and Dr. S. Luther Savidge; Aunt H. Blanche Savidge; also, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.

She is survived by her daughter, Blanche Elaine Baker, sister-in-law Jane Gira, also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lois Ann Amiano, 63, born January 13, 1955 passed away unexpectedly on May 29,2018. She was met by her parents Charles & Lois (Scott) Amiano, her brother Charles J. (Chuckie) Amiano, and her beloved pet Kirby. She leaves behind her three daughters Eva West, Courtney (Michael) DeVinney, and Marissa (Joe Thompson) Broadus. She was known affectionately as Ma, MeeMaw, and Gammie by her six grandchildren Michael West, Dylan Thompson, Ava Amiano, Joseph Thompson III, Vivienne DeVinney, and Audrey Thompson. Aside from her girls and grandchildren she leaves behind her three sisters, Linda Eiler, Shirley Amiano, Susan Hudson, and a brother Craig Amiano along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved immensely by her girls as she was an amazing and caring mother. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and spoiled them rotten. She was always supportive, smiling, joking, and doing her best to lighten the mood. She will forever be missed and treasured. Friends received, Monday, June 4, 2018, from 4-7 with a prayer service to follow in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home,  828 Richford St., Duquesne, PA.

Ted was a piping designer for C.S.D. Engineering in Robinson Twp. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, working on cars and skiing and belonged to the Pittsburgh Ski Club. He was also a former member of the Catholic Alumni Club. Beloved husband of Carrie (Galda) Harbacho for 12 years; brother of Paula (Robert) Pawlowski of Naples, FL and Carol (Mark) Bauer of North Huntingdon; also nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. June Baylie, long-time resident of Monroeville, passed away at home on May 28, 2018. June was born and raised in Gloucester New Jersey. She was salutatorian of the Gloucester High School Class of 1948, and attended Trenton State Teacher's College. She married Neil Baylie in the fall of 1956. June and her husband Neil moved to Monroeville in the summer of 1966 with their four children. June was a working mother, raising the children and assisting in the family business in sales and accounting. She was active in competitive swimming, officiating at local and area-wide swim meets. An advocate for reading and education, in her later years she volunteered at the welcome desk at the public library. She loved the outdoors, and was an experienced skier on both snow and water. She is survived by her husband, Neil Baylie, her daughters, Cheryl Baylie and Amy Haass, three grandchildren, Lisa Szekely, Stacey Baylie, and Michael Baylie, and her great-granddaughter Allyson Baylie.

Mary Emma Hays (Hospodar), 93 of Glassport, passed away on Tues., May 29, 2018 after a brief illness.  She was born on Nov. 30, 1924 to Andrew and Mary (Bokomlasko) Hospodar.  Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burton Hays and 6 siblings, John (Hobby) and Paul Hospodar, Margaret Urban, Rose Grivna, Helen Murawski and Irene Hospodar and sister-in-law Madeline (Mimi) Hospodar.  Mary was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish and its Christian Mothers Society.  She worked for the Draft Board during WWII and credited her fluency with languages in her success.  She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers at age 68.  She also worked at Holy Cross School and for South Allegheny in the Title One Program.  Mary was the proud mother of 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren:  Children, Andrea (Joe Bernot) Vojtko, David (Debbie) Hays, Tim (Eileen) Hays, Doris (George) Protz, Eileen Hays and Brian (Eileen) Hays; grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Wachs, Melanie (Jeff) Flickinger, Nicole (Brian) Ewert, Missy, Mindy and Amanda Protz, Megan (Jordan) Soyke, Samantha (Kit) Baldwin, Josh (Chrissy) Hays, Tim B. (Brittany) Hays, Lauren, Brian, Kathryn, John and David Hays, Richard (Kristen) Giannandrea and Brian John "BJ" (Tuesday Kenney) Hays and Ashleigh (Nate) Nix; great grandchildren Tyler and Dylan Wachs, Will and Ben Flickinger, Chloe, Owen and Logan Soyke, Vivian Baldwin, Emma, Maddie and Lucas Hays, Scarlett Giannandrea, Aria Jade Nix and Harper Hays.
