Jean E. Moran, age 97 of Liberty Borough, died May 14, 2017 at home. Born April 9, 1920 in Dravosburg, she was the daughter of the late Hardy and Margaret (Schuch) Sellers, and the sister of the late Harry Sellers. She was the wife of the late Arvid “Bee” Moran who died March 18, 1998. Jean was a graduate of McKeesport High School and Douglas Business School. She went on to work in the Tabulating Department of Westinghouse Air Brake Co. in Wilmerding and G.C. Murphy Co. Home Office. Jean was one of the oldest members of the Liberty Presbyterian Church and Sunday School Class, and was also a member of the Senior Sonshiners of the First Christian Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Oleska of McKeesport; and several nieces. There will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be held at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ray Beard will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp.  Phyllis R. Johnston, age 90 of White Oak, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at her home. Born July 11, 1926 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Leon F. and Irene R. (Pratt) Ryan, and loving wife of Charles “Bob” Johnston for 66 years of marriage. Phyllis was a graduate of McKeesport High School, and following graduation she began working for Bell Telephone as an operator until she began her family. She was an outstanding mother who dedicated her life to caring for her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for teaching and helping her family through school was one of her biggest accomplishments and passions. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Cheryl L. (Reed) McGraw of Monroeville, Maryl L. Higgins of White Oak, and Rebecca A. (John) Kielar of North Versailles; grandchildren, Reed, Amanda, Jeremy, Zachary, Carla, Derrick, Aaron, and Terra; great-grandchildren, Noah, Madyson, Aubre, Olivia, Charlotte, Xavier, and Tea; sister, Glenda (Jack) Roberts of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Aaron DeLandro; great-grandson, Charles R. Mihaljevic, and great-grandson, Baby Angel King. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mark Todd Mehalcik, from Glassport, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Son of Frances Mehalcik and the late John L. Mehalcik, Sr., and brother of the late John L. Mehalcik, Jr., and beloved companion of 17 years, Lynn Bickerton.  Survived by sisters, Michele (Butch) Balogh, Mary (Wayne) Mattis, Stephanie  Diffendal, and Suzanne Marie (Mark) Mondak; and children, Christy Schmidt and Dylan Mehalick.  Blessings by Father Matthew were performed at Willig Funeral Home in McKeesport. Harry E. Lanauze, MD

Harry E. Lanauze, MD, age 91, of Lincoln Borough, died May 7, 2017, at home with his family by his side. Born August 11, 1925, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Domingo and Hilda (Minor) Lanauze and the husband of Helen (Szymela) Lanauze, for over 46 loving years.
Harry was a retired physician with his family practice based in McKeesport for over 53 years. He was a McKeesport Hospital emergency room physician for over 20 years and practiced medicine there until 2011. Additionally, Harry was a staff doctor at John J. Kane Regional Medical Center, for over 25 years. He was a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Airforce, serving during WWII. Harry completed the Tuskegee Institute Division of Aeronautics 66th Army Air Forces Flying Training Detachment, September 11, 1945.  He was a Tuskegee Airman, flying the “Red Tail,” P-51, Mustang. He became a Biology professor after his military service, at Fort Valley State University. Harry then continued his education and received his medical degree from Meharry Medical School, in Nashville, TN. Harry was a humble man despite all his life’s accolades, he truly was self-less, from his military service to dedicating his life to caring for the families of McKeesport for over 50 years.
 In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by children, Dottrele Soffee of Richmond, VA, Harry Lanauze, Jr., of Knoxville, TN, Johil Lanauze of Memphis, TN, Karlyn Coward of McKeesport, Angela (Matt) Moran of Elizabeth and Leslie (Chris) Strub of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by siblings, Domingo and Jose Lanauze.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A blessing service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Daniel Straughn will officiate.

Phyllis J. Herrera, age 94 of Monroeville, formerly of Christy Park, died May 5, 2017, at Manor Care in Monroeville. Born August 6, 1922, in Cambridge, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Corbet) Barthalow and loving wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Herrera.
Phyllis dedicated her life to caring for her family. In her earlier years, she loved hand crafting beautiful afghans for all of her family. Additionally, she always enjoyed working word search puzzles.   
She is survived by her children, Robert (Sally) Roma of Salem, NH, Jerry (Bonnie) Roma of Houston, TX, Judy Roma of Versailles, Ralph (Nancy) Herrera of Monroeville, whom she lived with for the last 4 years of her life and Nancy Richardson of West Mifflin; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Moldavan and Dorothy Antes.

Melinda L. Macherosky, age 58 of McKeesport, died May 3, 2017 at Concordia Hospice of Washington. Born April 12, 1959 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel (Wakefield) Roberts, and loving wife of the late Bobby Macherosky. Melinda worked as the Benefits Manager for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for many years. She lived for her faithful dogs and always gave back to help those animals in need. She is survived by her siblings, George “Gene” (Donna) Roberts of Reading, Judy (Jim) Black of North Huntingdon, and Patty (the late Lance) Townsend of Gulfport, MS; loving cousin and caregiver, Eileen Ryder; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Ralph Cecil Gardner, 92, of Bethel Park, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He and his daughter Linda shared an apartment his last two years. Born November 26, 1924 in Layton, Fayette County, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Toyley (Stauffer) Gardner. His wife of 62 years, Gladys (Brewer) Gardner preceded him in death on March 23, 2007. They lived in Port Vue for 50 years. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Kay (the late Charles) Fowler of Bethel Park, Sandra Jean (David) Altman of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Justin (Dana) Fowler, Kristin (Edward) Cunningham, Sarah Marie (Kyle) Kopko; great-grandchildren Marcus and McKenna Fowler, and Mary Elizabeth Kopko.

Paul A. Stinebaugh, age 53, of McKeesport, died March 31, 2017, at home, after a 20 year battle with Huntington’s disease. Born October 6, 1963, in Germany, he was the son of Leonard and the late Patricia (Reitz) Stinebaugh and the husband of Vickie Stephens of McKeesport.
Paul dedicated his life to caring for his son. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing in his earlier years.
In addition to his father, Leonard (Kris) Stinebaugh of Liberty Borough and his wife Vickie, Paul is survived by a son, Paul M. Stinebaugh of McKeesport; brother, Timothy (Joanne) Stinebaugh of Boise, ID; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joan K. Steele, age 68, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Jacksonville, FL died March 30, 2017, at St. Margaret UPMC. Born September 13, 1948, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Nell (Popichak) Smolak of the Carnegie area and the beloved wife of Donald Steele, for over 45 years.
Joan was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes, dancing, bowling and baking. She loved dogs and always had a pet dog in her life. One of the greatest highlights of her life was a trip to Israel with her husband Don.
In addition to her husband Don, Joan is survived by a brother, John (Georgette) Smolak, Jr., of Danville, PA, formerly of Carnegie; nephew, John (Christy) Smolak, III of Bethel Park; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Eugene Smolak.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 11 a.m. until the time of blessing service at 12:15 p.m., with Fr. Matthew Elanjileth officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Loretta A. Perozich, age 70 of Lincoln Boro died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore. Born September 23, 1946 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Mary Elizabeth (McCarthy) Krimm, Jr. and loving wife of the late Anthony V. Perozich, Jr. Loretta worked as a Nurse’s Assistant for McKeesport Hospital, having retired from after many dedicated years of service. Following her retirement, she began working as a tax collector for Lincoln Boro. She was also the President of the Lincoln Boro Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, the first female member of the Lincoln Boro Fire Dept., assistant Girl Scout leader, past President of South Allegheny Band Parents, and a member of St. Mark Parish of Liberty Boro where she was an usher and Christian Mother. Above all, her greatest joy was the time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Anthony (Annette) Perozich, III of Lincoln Boro, Susan Lynn (Charlie) Griffin of Plum Boro; grandchildren, Erica, Hallie, Anthony IV, and Meghan Perozich, Rebecca Lynn and Emma Louise Griffin; great-grandson, Caleb Lee; and brother, David (Diane) Krimm, III of Delmont. Anne Bills, age 84 of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by all eight of her children on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Born July 30, 1932 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Wargo) Kurka, and loving wife of the late Frederick Bills. Anne was a born again Christian and member of the Glassport Assembly of God Church, where she was always there to help her church family. She loved to go out and about with her family and friends, and some of her favorite activities were gardening, babysitting, Bingo and Lifespan, where she was affectionately referred to as “Trouble”. She lived her life with kindness, grace, sparkle and strength. She will be remembered for being a proud mother of eight and grandmother and great-grandmother of 33 children! She is survived by her children, John (Karen) Bills of McKeesport, Maryanne “Maggie” (Paul) DeCecco of North Huntingdon, Sandra (Bill) Tressler of McKeesport, Fred Bills of San Diego, CA, Pete Bills of San Diego, CA, Tom (Linda) Bills of McKeesport, Janet (Joseph) Grudowski of White Oak, and Tammy (Mike) Lopez of Phoenix, AZ; cherished “Da-daw” to Alana, Bill, Kurt, Dave, Rashanna, Mike, Angelica, Maxine, Peter, Andrew, David, Armando, Lindsay, and Nichole; Great Da-daw to Antuan, Amiya, Evie, Gabi, Gianna, Annafaye, Leighton, Mathew, Benjamin, Cesar, Marissa, Vincent, Victoria, Adrian, Taylor, Carrie, and one on the way; sister-in-law, Flo Kaylor; also many nieces and nephews. Frederick A. Roberts

Frederick A. Roberts, age 82 of Clairton, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born November 24, 1934 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late John A. Roberts and Anna (Stabler) Roberts. Fred served in the Army in Korea in 1958. Never married, Fred drove tractor trailers for many different companies and was a long time member of Wilson Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his brother, John S. Roberts and his wife, Glenda of White Oak; niece Crystal Roberts Stalter and her husband, Mark; nephew Ryan S. Roberts and his wife, Kristy; two great nieces, Caitlin and Taylor; two great nephews, Joshua and Cody; also many cousins and his special cousin, John Lickert who was very good to Fred in visiting him at Kane and before that taking him to his doctor appointments. Fred is loved and will be missed especially by his brother. A Memorial Service celebrating Fred’s life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 12 Noon at the First Evangelical Free Church, 4001 University Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132.
