Judie G. O’Keefe, age 93 of McCandless, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at The Arbors at St. Barnabas – Valencia. She was born January 9, 1926 in Jeannette, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sally Williams Gabriel and wife of the late John J. O’Keefe. Judie was a 1948 graduate of Duquesne University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Psychology. She was the social chairman for her sorority Sigma Lambda PHI and was a greeter for St. Barnabas. She and her husband John were avid ballroom dancers and achieved the status of king and queen of the ball. She was an excellent seamstress and made her own ball gowns. She touched the lives of everyone she met.

Daniel R. Gribble, age 79, of McKeesport passed away on March 18, 2019 at UPMC Hospital McKeesport. Born on February 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Goldie (Norris) Urbanski and Daniel Wallace Gribble. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mary (Trail) Norris, and his two half-brothers Leonard and William Earl Urbanski.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann (Guski) and three sons and their wives, Daniel and Dena, Richard and Trina, and Brian and Mailyn.

Milda Jean (Lux) Fedorka, of Greensburg, formerly of Greenock, died March 16, 2019, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg, Pa. She celebrated her 99th birthday this past December 26, 2018. Lovingly known as “Mimi” by many, she is preceded in death by her late husband, George “Poppop” Fedorka, who died November 7, 1997, and by her parents, the late John “Honus” Lux and Jennie (Nabors) Lux.  Milda was a member of McKeesport High School class of 1937 and sang in the State Championship acapella choir. She studied commercial art and later taught at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She then worked for many years as an artist for the G.C. Murphy Company in McKeesport, Pa. and retired from there as head of the art department.

Rosa D'Amico Tommasi, 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019.  She was born November 5, 1938 in Vittoria, Italy, a daughter of the late Emanuele and Giovanna D'Amico.  She is survived by her loving  husband of 55 years, Giovanni Tommasi; son, Elio Tommasi and his wife, Dawn; daughter, Rosa DeFeo and her husband, James; grandchildren, Gabby (Matt), Sabrina, Giovanni, James, Elaina and Elio; brothers, Carmello and Salvatore D'Amico; sisters, Angela Lauretta and Elena D'Amico; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at the James W. Chester F. "Chet"  Ornowski, 93, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died March 14, 2019 at home surrounded by family. He was born January 16, 1926 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Kurkowski) Ornowski. He was preceded by the love of his life, the late Patricia (Shank) Ornowski, who passed away January 31, 2014.  After completing high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, Where he served as grade four technician with the 76th Infantry Division. In 1944, he was drafted into WWII, where he was a part of the Normandy Invasion. For his service he received 2 Purple Heart Medals for combat,  The Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, EAME Theatre Service Medal with three bronze stars, and The WWII Victory Medal. He retired from US Steel in 1983 after 35 years of service where he worked as a lab technician.

Paul Daniel Ohrman

Paul Daniel Ohrman, a retired metallurgical engineer and published author of “Living to Serve: Church, Family, Country” and “Bridges to Peace: WW II Through the Lens of a Combat Engineer” died peacefully with his family by his side at home March 9, 2019. He was 96.

Born and raised in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Matilda H. (Anderson) Ohrman. Mr. Ohrman married his childhood sweetheart, Alice (Roland) Ohrman on December 21, 1947, and the couple resided in McKeesport and Monroeville, PA. where they raised their family.

Mr. Ohrman served honorably in the US Army during WW II as a Technical Specialist Grade 5 photographer with the 264th Combat Engineering Battalion in the European Theatre, building bridges for Patton’s 3rd Army. Mr. Ohrman took photographs of Erfurt and Buchenwald concentration camps when they were liberated. Following his military service, Mr. Ohrman earned degrees from Washington and Jefferson University, the University of New Hampshire, and Carnegie Mellon University. He was employed by US Steel as a chief metallurgical engineer at various mills and the national headquarters in Pittsburgh. After retiring from US Steel, he became technical services manager at National Materials Corp. and Tang Industries.

Duane P. Landstrom, age 87, of Dunwoody, Georgia, formerly of East McKeesport, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born August 4, 1931 in East McKeesport, the son of the late Gunnard and Bertha Landstrom. He was a former member of the Christy Park Methodist Church in McKeesport. He retired after a long career as a clerk in accounting for US Steel at the Irvin Works in West Mifflin. He had a passion for baseball and loved to coach young players in the little league of McKeesport, CCAC and many other groups. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Edith Considine, Mildred Lorge, Ruth Bendel. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years Alberta (Kwolkoski) Landstrom; son Robert (Gena) Landstrom of Decatur, Georgia; grandchildren Juergie and Broedy Landstrom and Tyler Trosclair; and nieces and nephews.

Burns of Elizabeth Township.  A 1955 honors graduate of McKeesport High School, Dianne attended Allegheny College before briefly working for Connecticut General Life Insurance and Morris Knowles and Associates, Inc. in Pittsburgh.  Later she was quietly instrumental in the inception and early success of King's Family Restaurants, a business founded by her husband of 57 years, Hartley C.
