Ruth Ann Seech, 72, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020. She was born February 5, 1948 in Munhall, a daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Kracunovsky)
Durica. Prior to her retirement, Ruth was an elementary school teacher for Norwin School District for 35 years. She was a graduate of Clarion University and was a member of St. Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Church, PSEA and Moose Lodge #236 Irwin. Ruth enjoyed going to lunch with her fellow retirees, making Pierogis with the women of St. Stephen’s Church Group, attending sports events for the grandkids, and playing Bingo and slot machines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Helen (Timko) Seech and son-in-law Keith Choby. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, Raymond Seech Sr.; children, Michele Choby and her fiancé, Brian Bassegio, Raymond Seech Jr. and his wife, Jamie and Pamela Dawson and her husband, Jeremiah; brothers, Albert (Debbie) Durica, James (Judy)
Durica, David (Monica)Durica; sister, Janice (Dave) Matthews, sister in law, Sandie Seech; grandchildren, Karac and fiancé Kali Halterman, Kody, Dane, Alek, Nathan, SPC Colin, Samuel, Derek and Mycah; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins; and her fur baby, Sassy. Services are private for family members only. Private interment in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Grant Leslie Scott, 74, of White Oak, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020. He was born October 24, 1945 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Daniel I. and Mary (King) Scott. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in McKeesport, and was a life member of the McKeesport Sportsman's Association and the Eleventh Ward Welfare Association. Grant was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam and was a retired Environmental Services Section Chief at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Aspinwal. He had previously worked for US Steel - Irvin Works.

Ralph J. Whitney, 74, of McKeesport, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at home. He was born September 12, 1945 in McKeesport, and was the  son of the late Joseph and Nora Whitney and brother of the late John “Jack” Whitney, Lenora Gibbons, Joseph “Billy” Whitney, and Charles Whitney.  He was a retired supervisor for American Bridge.  He was a proud member of the Mary Mother of God Parish (Corpus Christi Site), where he also served as an usher. Ralph was a member of the Eleventh Ward Welfare Association in McKeesport and the Sutersville Moose.  He also served as the president of the McKeesport Senior Center.

She is survived by daughters, Julia (Keith) Renquist of Liberty Borough, Pamela (William) Allan of Liberty Borough and Sharon (William) Toth of North Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. Jody E. (Jasper) Brunecz, 58, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, March 16, 2020. She was born January 7, 1962 in Jeannette, a daughter of Doris J (Graybrook) Jasper of Irwin and the late Lee R. Jasper. Jody was a graduate of Norwin High School class of 1980 and was a former administrative assistant. She recently enjoyed briefly working at the Norwin Community Center.

She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Irwin, where she served as a Deacon, a choir member, and a former Sunday School teacher. She loved camping and vacationing at the beach. She also was very interested in and had learned sign language.

Ruth was the loving wife and best friend to the late George L. Smitley for 51 years before his death at the age of 72. Ruth enjoyed her role as a domestic engineer where she could care for her family and give them the best life possible. She is survived by her daughter Ruthann (George) Adams of Finleyville, her daughter Mary Lincoln of Point Marion, her daughter Priscilla Martin of McKeesport, and her son George (Judy) Smitley of Jefferson Hills. Ruth is also survived by her sisters MaryJane McCorkle of Elizabeth and Alice Bucy of Indiana. Ruth was preceded in death by her two daughters Ethel Porter and Alice Lewis as well as her brothers Clyde, David, Robert, and John Hodge. She was also preceded by her sisters Margaret Swarz, Annamae Core, and Gwendolyn Hodge.
