Margaret “Marge” L. Valoon Osterman, age 97 and 11 months, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Port Vue, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 of natural causes at The Grove Skilled Nursing Facility in North Huntingdon. She was born in McKeesport on August 17, 1923 and is the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Josephine Edwards Valoon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leonard W. Osterman, who died on March 28, 2000; sisters, Ruth Dressler; Joanne Wisser; and brother, Jack Valoon. Margaret leaves behind a large, loving family which includes her daughter, Carol (Richard) Andrews of Greensburg; sons, Jack (Patricia) Osterman of North Huntingdon; Robert (Stacey) Osterman of Port Vue; James (Sharon) Osterman of Harrisburg; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a niece and nephews.

Anthony R. Palmieri, 17, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021. He was born January 2, 2004 in Pittsburgh, son of Lynn Ramsey Bell and James Palmieri. Anthony was a junior in High School and enjoyed playing basketball, football, listening to music, gaming and especially loved his cats, Rubert, Bubbs and Scrimmy. Anthony was a loving and sweet son and brother, and loyal friend. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Russ and Jan Ramsey; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Alberta Palmieri; brother, Dominic; sister, Angelia; stepfather, Dave Bell; stepbrother, Tyler Bell; stepsister, Casey Bell; aunts, Tracy Socci, Laura Branton; cousins, Saige, Lindsay and Elysse; girlfriend, Skyy and numerous friends. Friends will be received from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. John worked at the DoubleTree hotel in Cranberry as a Tradesman/Engineer. He was a mentor to many young men in life and work.

Keith A. Hayduk

Keith A. Hayduk, 63, of Columbus OH, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, after battling a number of health issues.  He was born Sept 7, 1957 in McKeesport PA.  He was the third son of the late Harry and Lucille (Matto) Hayduk. 

Keith grew up in Liberty Boro PA and graduated from South Allegheny High School.  He also attended Penn State University and spent his early adult years in Johnstown PA, working as a salesman before moving to Columbus OH, where he held various jobs. Keith loved music, attending concerts, and visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum frequently. 

He was an avid Big Ten sports fan with a special spot in his heart for his Penn State Nittany Lions and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was a lifelong golfer and volunteered every year at the Memorial Golf Tournament.

Born October 21, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Harold and Blanche (Hannigan) Hobson and the husband of the late Donna ( Anchak ) Hobson.

Gary worked as a mechanic at many different places throughout his career until he lost his sight. He was an avid Steeler football fan. Gary loved his family and is now reunited with his wife that he truly missed so much.

Bud retired from the former General Motors Fisher Body Plant in 1991 after 28 years of service and was also proprietor of the former Keeler Car Wash in McKeesport and was also a member of the Elks Club.

Pam retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, and attended Corpus Christi Church. Pam enjoyed amusement parks, reading, and making cross-stitch blankets for everyone. She was also an animal lover, leaving behind her cats. Pam was very proud of her grandchildren and cherished the time they spent together.

Helen Smith Gray, age 86 of McKeesport, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born August 30, 1934 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Jeno and Mary (Hollis) Schmidt. 

A retiree of KMart in Pleasant Hills and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in White Oak, Helen worked in her later years as a lunchlady for McKeesport School District and was a member of both the Boston Vets and the CFU Lodge # 146 of Versailles.  In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, playing video poker, playing cards with her family, crafting, sewing, quilting, and going out socializing and dancing with her dear companion of 25 years Albert DiBattista.  But, her proudest accomplishment was her six beautiful children and all of her grandchildren and their families.

Lois was a strong, hardworking woman who retired from cleaning homes at the age of 88. She was well known for her famous cheesy potatoes and her "one of a kind" baking skills, especially her Baklava. She's always had a niche for sewing and crocheting handmade gifts for her family, which they cherish dearly. Her cats and dogs were her world as she selflessly devoted all of her time to make sure they were happy. She was the "glue of the family" and will be missed dearly by all.
