Kenneth James Mikell Jr, age 65, of McKeesport, went to be with the lord on October 10, 2022.  He was born on November 30, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Kenneth James Mikell Sr. and Mary Ann McWilliams and husband of Trixie Fullenwider. Kenneth was known to many as "Flea," and to family as "Jimmy".
He graduated from McKeesport High School, class of 1973, where he played football and ran track with a standing record that has yet to be beat. After High School, he attended the University of Pittsburgh on a football scholarship. In addition to sports, Kenneth was a loving person and a caretaker to many people. He was known for his sense of humor and great stories. He had a great passion for helping and encouraging others. Kenneth will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of those who cared for him deeply.

Alan M Pavuk of North Huntingdon ran to the Father on Saturday, October 15, 2022, after a 17 week battle with a malignant brain tumor. Born November 18, 1952, in McKeesport, he was the second child of Joseph M and Eleanor (Peterson) Pavuk. He graduated from Norwin High School in 1970 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1974. He was employed on the pipe production line of the Electric Resistance Weld US Steel-Camp Hill McKeesport plant, retiring in 2014. Alan cherished making memories by traveling- first with his parents on bus trips and later with his sister to New York, North Carolina, Florida, and California for family events. He had an amazing mind for details and loved learning, with a sweet tooth to rival Buddy the Elf. Shopping to find the best bargain brought him great delight in addition to watching classic comedy shows, attending car cruises, and supporting local farmer and craft markets. He had an eye for colorful gems, glasswork, decorative lights, and clothing. Radio programs from short wave to AM, local to international were part of his daily schedule. His greatest passion was music of wide genres from 1960s rock to reggae, ska, and sea shanties. Alan supported many independent local and international musical artists in his extensive audiovisual library. He was a member of St Mary's Romanian Catholic Church and attended Free Hungarian Reformed Church both of McKeesport. Alan was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Joseph E Pavuk. He is survived by his sister, Susan Rabe, sister-in-law, Sharon Pavuk: niece and nephews: Megan(Chuck) Stitt, Joel(Erica Gatts) Pavuk, Timothy(Brittany) Rabe, Benjamin(Kelly) Rabe, Noah(Jessica) Rabe: and great nieces and nephews: Adelyn, Josie, and Ira Stitt and Raegan and Elias Rabe. Visitation: Friday, October 21,2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with brief memorial service at 7 pm at James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 22,2022 at 10 am, St Mary's Romanian Catholic Church 318 26th Street McKeesport. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.

Dorothy M. (Traud) (Jugan) Macioce, age 85, of Munhall, formerly of West Mifflin, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at home, in the presence of her family. She was born in West Mifflin on March 7, 1937 to the late Joseph and Mercedes Traud.  Dorothy will be greatly missed but never forgotten. A member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Therese Church, she was also an avid Steelers fan and her hobbies included crocheting, diamond art, bingo, gambling and card playing. She was a member of the I.S.D.A. and A.A.R.P. and made blankets and scarves for the veterans. Dorothy is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandy (Ken) Kracinovsky of Bethel Park and sons, Paul (Cindy) Jugan of Eagle River, Alaska and Vince Macioce of Pittsburgh. She will be welcomed by her loving daughters, Sharon Jugan, who passed away on March 1, 2019 and Michele, who passed on March 30, 2010. She is the grandmother of of Jim (Melissa) Heckert, Jason Heckert, Sami (Toby) Decker, Matthew (Jessica) Jugan, Nicole Baldwin and Jordan Macioce; great grandmother of Aubrie Heckert, Mason Decker and Lucas Heckert; and sister of the late Bernard (late Joy) Traud. Sr. Mary Ann Dujanovic, SDR, age 91, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 in the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse, Elizabeth Twp.  Born October 23, 1930 in Barberton, OH, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Vislavsky) Dujanovic.  Sr. Mary Ann was a professed religious Sister of the Divine Redeemer for 72 years.  She earned both her BA and MA in education from Duquesne University worked in education for 68 years as an excellent primary teacher, principal, CCD teacher, and with the homeschooled.  She was also a Local Superior, awarded the Golden Apple Award in 1998, had a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and was very creative.  Although she was "retired," Sr. Mary Ann continued tutoring and helping in the community as a sunshine person, receptionist, and always offered a helpful ear as a good listener and helpful prayer.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers George and Francis Dujanovic and her sisters: Bernadette Hornacek, Marguerite Holben, and Diane Dujanovic.  Sr. Mary Ann is survived by her sisters-in-law Barbara and Ann Dujanovic, her brother in law Michael Holben, her nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Valeria E. (Miklos) Mattis, affectionately known to many as “Mother Val,” died on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by her children, at the age of 83. Born in Duquesne, PA on April 2, 1939, she was the youngest of twelve children to Andrew and Helen (Kushnir) Miklos. She married the late Michael T. Mattis on August 29, 1964. She is survived by son Michael (Amy) of White Oak, daughter Monica, with whom she resided, of McKeesport, son William (Tina) of West Mifflin and son Christopher (Paul-James Cukanna) of Churchill; grandsons Michael (Kayla), Ryan, Nicholas, and Jonathan; great grandson Michael John; sister Charlotte (Donald) Nasta of Levittown, PA; in-laws Joseph and Barbara Mattis of Finleyville, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Mattis (August, 2022), her husband and parents, her parents-in-law Michael and Anna (Hlad) Mattis, and siblings, Helen Miklos, Elizabeth Miklos, Margaret Miklos, Alexander Miklos, Andrew “Timmy” Miklos, Bernard Miklos, Virginia Miklos, Gertrude Motel, Rosalia Miklos and Philomena Demeter.

 A 1957 graduate of Duquesne High School, Valeria worked as a Tele-Typist at Fisher Scientific and later as an Administrative Assistant in the Housing Office at Carnegie Mellon University. 

 Mother Val was a strong woman with tremendous faith and perseverance. She embraced the challenges and responsibilities of raising her five children herself following the death of her beloved husband Mike, who died suddenly in 1983. She loved her family, her friends, her Catholic religion and playing board games with her family. She enjoyed having fun, laughing and joking around with those she loved. She was highly proficient at Scrabble. She kept up to date on current, worldly events. She also enjoyed playing games of chance on her iPad, and especially “taking rides” to various casinos.

 She was a strong woman who never complained and made the best of challenging circumstances throughout her life. Family was an important priority in her life that she taught her children in values and traditions, especially her favorite holiday, Christmas. She enjoyed decorating, baking, cooking and sharing the traditional Christmas Eve Slovak Vilija supper. She reinforced these values by reminding all of us of the importance of always saying the following three words, “I Love You.”

Friends will be received on Monday, October 17, 2022 and Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 2-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, PA 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. Clyde L. Hennon Jr., 84 of Dravosburg, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, at Squirrel Hill Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. He was born in New Castle on November 20th, 1937, to the late Clyde Sr. and Julia E. Owrey Hennon. Clyde was the loving husband of 47 years to Norma Jean Thompson Hennon. He is survived by his wife Norma, their son Matt (Melissa Barker) Hennon of White Oak, brother Glenn (Charlene) Hennon of Glenrock, sister Karen (Loren) Greene of Indiana, PA, and grandchildren Lennox and Duke. He is further survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by brother Richard. He was a member of the United States Army and served during peacetime. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dravosburg and the First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport, as well as a member of the former Community Alliance Church in Elizabeth. Clyde enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as completing crossword puzzles. Family and friends will be received on Sunday October 16th, 2022, from 1-3 P.M. at I.M FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4th St, Dravosburg, PA 15034. A service will take place at 3 P.M. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation. A repast will occur following the service at the First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport. Loretta Lyons, 86, of Hempfield Township, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born May 25, 1936 in East Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Wirbilia) Thomas. Prior to her retirement, Loretta was a clerical secretary for Westinghouse. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going out to lunch and dinner with her family and friends, socializing with her bowling friends, spending time with her extended family and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Lyons; brothers, Stanley, Richard and Henry Thomas; sisters, Marie Beres, Genevieve Beck, Stella Suznick and Constance Frowen. Florindo “Fred” Mariani

Florindo “Fred” Mariani, age 89 of North Versailles, passed away peacefully to reunite eternally with his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia Mariani, daughters Diana and Gina Ann Mariani, and granddaughter, Gina Marie Mariani.

He was born on December 29, 1932 in Sant Angelo del Pesco, Italy, a son of the late Filomena (DiVito) and Ondivio Mariani.

Fred immigrated to the United States in 1953. He built a life filled with cherished family and friends. He ran a masonry business and was highly skilled in his trade. As a father and grandfather, he demonstrated strength, courage and the value of working hard in all that he did. Fred enjoyed regularly visiting his family in Italy, watching football, delicious food, music, and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He set a true example of perseverance, integrity, tradition and dedication to family and faith. Fred was the pillar of love and commitment in his family— a love that continues to connect his family on earth and in heaven.

Loving mother of Monica (Robert) Murphy, Thomas Cheripka Jr., and Brad (Julie) Cheripka; adoring grandmother of Jeremy, John “Jake”, Delaney, Collin, Zachary and Reagan. Nita is also survived by her siblings, Donald D’Amico, Patricia Cheripka and Pamela Matviya, step siblings, Mary Ann Medvis, Rose “Tiny” Monk, James “Bull” Cheripka, Robert “Bucky” Cheripka, Edward Cheripka, Ronald Cheripka, and Mark Cheripka, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Blanche Virginia (Shaffer) D’Amico, step mother, Helen (Cheripka) D’Amico, and her brother, Michael D’Amico.
