Alice Mary (Rodriguez-Gutierrez) Boyd

Alice Mary (Rodriguez-Gutierrez) Boyd of Middleboro died peacefully on February 19, 2018.  She was 90.

She was born on September 1, 1927 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Jesus Gutierrez and Concepcion Rodriguez-Gutierrez.  Prior to her retirement, Alice worked for many years as an electronics assembler at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.  She was a member of the Mexican/American Club in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and numerous Catholic organizations.  A devout Catholic, she treasured her faith and family. 

Former wife of the late John Gilbert Boyd, Sr.  Devoted mother of Veronica L. Gasdick of Pennsylvania, Kathleen F. Boyd of Massachusetts, Arthur F. Boyd of Texas and the late John Gilbert Boyd, Jr. Loving sister of Arthur J. and William Gutierrez, Julia Kowalski, the late Pedro Gutierrez, Jenny Boyko and Joseph Gutierrez.  Also survived by cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday (March 2, 2018) at 6:30 PM in the Onset Foursquare Church, 301 Onset Avenue, Onset. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 10, 2018) at 9:30 AM in Queen of The Rosary Church, 530 Michigan Avenue, Glassport, Pennsylvania.

Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

Sylvina “Vina” J. March, 81, of Glassport died Saturday February 17, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Hazel Murray. Vina is survived by her children Jamie (Paul) Trunzo of Glassport, PA, Sharon (Karen) Miller of Lexington, TN, and John (Susan) Miller of Waterford, PA; sister Martha Miller of Waterford, PA; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James R. March, and siblings Alma Gur, James Murray, Gene Murray, and Jack Murray. She enjoyed spending time in Bedford, casino trips, bingo, and she was an active participant in her community. Her proudest accomplishment was the revitalization of the Glassport Senior Center. She was a social member of the Glassport Sons of Italy, Chair of Trustees of Glassport United Methodist Church, Director of Glassport Senior Citizen Center, and owner of the former Vina’s Cleaners in Glassport. Friends will be received Monday from 2-8pm at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A blessing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday morning 10am with Pastor Hal Dangel, interment following Round Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glassport Senior Citizens Center.

Carl V. Zupi, 94, of Glassport, died Feb. 4, 2018.  He is the son of the late Gasper and Catherine (Tavalaro) Zupi and beloved husband of the late Esther (Mischi) Zupi.  He is survived by his sons David Zupi and Vincent Zupi; brother Frank Zupi and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by sisters Angeline Rossi, Anna Marie Zupi and Domenica Consoli.  Carl was retired from Copperweld; member of Queen of the Rosary Parish, where he was an usher, Holy Name Society, Sons of Italy, Americal Legion and the Lions Club, where he was president for 3 years.  A private funeral service was held at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

Sandra (Sandy) Tison of West Mifflin passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.  She was born in McKeesport on August 21, 1954, daughter of the late Bernard Tison and late Rita Furlong.  She was predeceased in death by her niece and godchild, Carrie Ann Gross and her step-mother Patricia Tison and step-sister Debra Oskin.  She is survived by her sister Pattie (Charles) Gross, nephews Charles (Denise) Gross, Michael (Kara) Gross and Scott Gross; also 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; step-brothers Keith Daugherty and Kenneth Daugherty, many cousins and step-nephews.  She was previously employed by U.S. Steel Duquesne Works and was a Market Research Interviewer at Waraback Research for 21 years.  She also worked at Riverside Nursing Center.  But the job she loved the most was being a caretaker for the elderly in their homes.  Family and friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 am at Queen of the Rosary Church.  Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.  In lieu of flowers, please request Masses for Sandy via Seraphic Mass Association @ 412-683-4700.

Rose D'Angelo Gladkowski, 97, of Glassport, died Jan. 29, 2018.  She is the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosali Sgattoni and wife of the late John D'Angelo and Theodore Gladkowski.  She is survived by her sons John (Terry Woytovich) D'Angelo and Louis (Shirley) D'Angelo; daughter Teresa (Robert) Klein; also 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Rose worked at Glassport Glasshouse; managed the Allegheny tax office in McKeesport and was a retired supervisor for Allegheny County Treasurer's Office.  She was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Tues. 4-8.  A funeral mass will be held Wed.10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Father Miroslaus Wojcicki.  Interment following New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Patricia A. (Kendi) Crawley, 66, of Glassport, formerly of Youngstown, PA, died Jan. 13, 2018. She was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Hovenec) Kendi. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Crawley; was the beloved mother to sons Nathan (Trish) Crawley, Tyler Crawley, and Richard Crawley, all from Glassport; beloved Bubba to twin granddaughters Hailey and Madison; and sister-in-law Rita Jones, St. Cloud FL.  Patricia was a longtime member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and the Polish National Alliance. She graduated from Latrobe High School. She was the sweetest and most caring person and will be missed by many.  Friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Wed. 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held Thurs. 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Natalie Elaine (Kochuba) D'Amico

Natalie Elaine (Kochuba) D'Amico, 75 of Elizabeth, died Jan. 3, 2018.  Natalie was the daughter of the late Helen and Nick Kochuba and sister of the late Valerian Nicholas.  After her father, Nick, was killed in WWII, Steve married Helen and helped raise the family.  She is survived by her husband John and sons Anthony (Lisa), John (Mary Beth) and daughter Tina Maria (Scott) Bryer and her loving grandchildren, Tully, Oakley,Reid, Max, Nico, Joseph, Jack, Sophia, Luke, Scarlett  and Heinz, who were the love and complete joy of her life. I love you - I love you more! Natalie is also survived by her very caring brother Steve (Janet) Kochuba and sister-in-laws, Kathy Oliver, Maria Chiarizio and Catherine DiStasi as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.  Her cousin Stephanie (Micky) established a bond like sisters and were a very close and strong support system.  Natalie was a graduate of Divine Redeemer Acadamy and completed a secretarial course at Robert Morris.  After working at Bettis for 9 years she stayed at home to raise her 3 children then taking a job at McKeesport Hospital.  Her last job, which she loved, was at Penn State Greater Allegheny.  She looked forward to going to work to be with her friends and co-workers.  Yearly trips to York and Lancaster to spend time with their best friends, Rosemary and Rich was another joy in her life.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sun. 6-8 and Mon. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral mass will be held Tues. 10:00 am at Holy Name Church with Father Tom Lewandowsky and Father Carmen D'Amico.  Interment following Round Hill Cemetery.
