Dale William Mays, 66, of White Oak, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 18, 2019.  He was born August 13, 1952 in McKeesport, loving son of William and Elaine (Ohs)  Mays.  Prior to his retirement, Dale was a brakeman for Union Railroad and a graduate of Norwin Senior High School Class of 1970.  He was an avid reader and loved art and music.  He is survived by his sister, Renee Martz and her husband, Bob; nephew, Brett Martz and his wife Addie, and their children, Emma and Mats; niece, Heather Johnson and her husband, Mike and their son, Baylor.  There will be no visitation.  A private family memorial will be held at a later date.  Arrangements made by the James W. Brian Lawrence Hetrick, 21, of North Huntingdon died at home on July 16, 2019. He was born February 28, 1998 in Greensburg, the loving son of Warren Hetrick and Marina Venturelli. In 2002, Brian became the older brother to his surviving sibling, Alex Hetrick. Brian was a 2016 graduate of Norwin High School. He was about to begin his Senior year at University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg, where he was a Dean’s List student after transferring from WCCC in 2018. He also worked at Kohl’s, North Huntingdon for the past few years.
 
Brian was a good kid. He didn’t do drugs, never got into trouble, and hardly drank. He went to pre-school at Calvary Preschool Center, attended first grade at West Hempfield Elementary before transferring to Sunset Valley Elementary, and continued his high school career at Norwin School District. He received First Communion and Confirmation at St. Agnes Church.
 
He played soccer for many years at the Norwin Soccer Club, playing for coach Seth’s Travel Team, and later for the 9th Grade High School Team. He went on to play for WCCC his freshman year in college. He also participated in martial arts, T-ball, baseball, basketball and track growing up. Brian spoke Italian, and he loved travelling to Italy to visit his Nonni, and especially adored being with his two young cousins there, who took to him so much. He also enjoyed beach vacations growing up, and being with his good friends Marc, Cayden, Cam, Kevin, and many other special friends from all parts of his life.

Rick was a member of Walnut Grove Assembly of God where he was a former Elder, member of the Men’s Ministry, volunteered with the food bank and coached flag football for the school, U S Army Vietnam veteran serving with the 199th Infantry and a retired letter carrier for the U S Postal Service.

(Melanie Dortschy) Campoli and Larry (Dara) Campoli; her grandchildren Chase, Danielle, Max & Jake Campoli.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Campoli and her siblings Joseph Deflavis and Elizabeth Mussori.

Patricia Ann Harris, age 87, of McKeesport, died July 17, 2019.  She was born in McKeesport on October 17, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Ida Mondin Forsberg and her late husband, Elmer.  She is the wife of the late Jack H. Harris.  She was retired from Penn State University after 40 years of service, working in their Continuing Education Program.

When wintering in Florida with her daughter, she volunteered at South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach.  However, because of her love for the City of McKeesport, she was extremely active in various organizations.  She was the Volunteer Coordinator at McKeesport Heritage Center and Co-Chair of the Festival of Trees.  She organized the Penn State Retirees Luncheon Group and volunteered for many years for McKeesport International Village.

Clark M. Kerr, age 90, of Irwin, died July 14, 2019. He was born in Turtle Creek and the son of the late Mary and Edwin O. Kerr. He graduated from Turtle Creek High School then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After serving in the military, he earned a bachelor degree from Slippery Rock University and a master’s degree from Indiana University. He taught at South Fork, Gateway, and 25 years as a guidance counselor in the Hempfield Area School District. He was preceded in death by son-in-law Ben Lubinsky, brothers Blaine Craig, Carl Kerr, and sister Elva Zenk. Surviving are his wife Mildred Patterson Kerr, two children: Dr. Clark M. Riley, Sr. and Katherine Carr Riley.  Also preceded in death by his brothers, the late Thomas Riley, killed in WWII, the late Robert (late Rita) Riley, and one sister, the late Margaret Denney.

Beloved husband for 54 of Caroline Schwab Riley, whom he married on August 28, 1965.  Loving father of Michael Andrew "Andy" (Sandra) Riley III and Julie (Alexander) Tschammer-Osten.  Proud grandfather of Katherine, Julia, Ava, & Annika.

Born and raised in McKeesport, PA, Michael was a Korean War Army Veteran, attended Robert Morris College, and worked for 32 years for U.S. Treasury Department as an IRS Agent.  He was a member of Brentwood VFW, Brookline American Legion, Dormont AARP, and a longtime member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brookline and recently St. Richard Catholic Church in Gibsonia.  In his retirement years, Mr. & Mrs. Riley traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, & Europe.  The Riley's moved to Gibsonia in 2015 to be near family.

STAN A. HEBDA age 101, of Duquesne, on July 13, 2019 at home.  A son of the late Vincent & Blanche (Fularz) Hebda, he was a retired Steelworker and former member of the former St. Stephen’s R.C. Church in McKeesport where he was an usher, member of the choir and their dart team.  He loved to read, especially Westerns, singing, golf & dancing.  He volunteered at Kane-McKeesport & was a lifetime member of the P.N.A. in McKeesport. One of his claims to fame was that he had a hole in one on August 30, 1974 on the #13 hole of 148 yds. at Butler’s Golf Course.  He was also a lifetime member of the Carpenter’s Union & was in the Civilian Conservation Corps.  He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Margaret B. Petrosko, 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday July 12, 2019.  He was born May 22, 1934 in McKeesport, a son of the late Peter and Mary (Crush) Petrosko.  Prior to his retirement, Robert was a tool and die maker for General Motors and a veteran of the US Army.  He was a member of the 11th Ward Club, enjoyed playing the lottery and spending time with his family.  Bob was the life of the party, enjoyed social clubs and had ingenious ways of fixing things. Local 5 and owner of Fortitude Handyman Services and while living in New Jersey, he was employed with RCA.

Stanley F. Makoski Sr., age 68, of McKeesport, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service on the North Side. As a child, he was on the safety patrol in elementary school, sang in the youth choir, and served as an altar boy. In his 20s, he took the Civil Service test and passed with a score of 93. Stanley delivered mail to Art Rooney, who often gifted him with a cigar or two. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates and faithfully followed both teams on television. On March 22, he celebrated 15 years of sobriety and being smoke-free. He prided himself on living his life "one day at a time."

Sean was born on July 5, 1983, in East McKeesport, PA to William and Mary Lynn (Rosenbayger) Brown. He was a 2001 graduate of East Allegheny Junior/Senior High School. After high school, Sean pursued his love of theater at the University of Pittsburgh where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts. While his passion for theater, film, and music was present for his entire life, Sean’s focus after college changed to being more politically minded and finding ways to make this a better world. After a brief time as a paralegal, Sean attended the University of the District of Columbia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Juris Doctorate. Thereafter, Sean was selected for the Legal Honors Program at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development where he worked as a Trial Attorney until his death, assuring decent and affordable housing, enabling all Americans to achieve homeownership, providing resources for communities to build strong neighborhoods, preventing homelessness, and enforcing fair housing laws.

Raymond Thomas Fedor, 78, of Elizabeth Township, formerly Clairton and longtime resident of Peter's Township, sailed off  Sunday, July 7, 2019 to meet again with beloved family and friends whom have set sail before him. He was born May 9, 1941 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Nicholas and Taugen (Ancarana) Fedor. He was the husband of the late Audrey Ruth (Lovrich) Fedor, she was the love of his life. Raymond was the Proprietor of 2 successful Open Pantry convenience stores in Bethel Park and was a member of the chamber of Commerce there.  He proudly served in the Army National Guard and belonged to the VFW post in Peter's Township, where he spent many an evening with many good friends sharing many great stories.

Zoscak, 91, of Glassport, died July 9, 2019.  He is the son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Bogush) Zoscak.  He is survived by his brother Carl (Charlotte) Zoscak; nephews Todd, Robert and Michael Zoscak; great nieces Summer Ann and Autumn Dale Zoscak; also cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Zoscak.  Joe was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish and served in the US Army Korean Conflict.  After his retirement, Joe spent his time at his hunting camp in the Allegheny National Forest.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Fri. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Sat. 10:00 am in the funeral home with Father Wojcicki.  Interment following St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.

 Thomas (Tommy) Joseph Mawritz, age 60, of Port Vue, PA formerly of Glassport, PA passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Born on September 11, 1958 in McKeesport, PA he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Campayno) Mawritz.

Tommy was a graduate of South Allegheny High School. He was a pre-press manager at Comprint Inc in Gaithersburg, MD. After spending 19 years in the Washington, DC area, Tommy returned home. Soon he became involved in coaching youth football with the South Allegheny Youth Football Association. He loved coaching and was recognized with the Pittsburgh Steelers MVP Award for his commitment to the Association and the players despite his many health issues. In addition, the Tom Mawritz Extra Effort Award was created by the Association and is given each year to the player who never quits trying. Tommy was also an avid Pitt fan and will be missed by all who knew him.

Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved brother Dr. Kenneth J Mawritz Sr. He is survived by his sister Nancy (Mawritz) George and her husband Joseph of Germantown, MD; sister-in-law Natalie (Shadwick) Mawritz of Collegeville, PA; nephews Kenneth Mawritz Jr. and his wife Mary of Havertown, PA, Jason George of Rockville, MD, Brendan George of New York City, NY, niece Holly L. Mawritz and her husband Jonathan Goodroad of Glenside PA; and his five grandnephews and niece Logan, Liam, Lucas, Levi and Madeleine.

Mary I. “Marie” (Frydrych) Plecenik, 96, of East McKeesport, died Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was born May 19, 1923 in South Wilmerding, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Dlugosz) Frydrych and was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Stephen C. Plecenik and brothers Blanchard, Edward, Henry, and Chester Frydrych. Marie was an employee of Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding from the early 1940’s until she married her husband in 1949. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church and was an avid bowler with her husband at Great Valley Lanes. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. Surviving are her children Marian (Art) Belotti and Mark Plecenik; her grandchildren Christina (Marty) Moyer and Annette (Nathan) Suwalski; three great grandchildren Breanna and Dylan Suwalski and Levi Moyer; also nieces and nephews.
