Ruth A. Watson, 85 of North Irwin died February 27, 2024 at Transitions Health Care. She was born December 31, 1938 in Duquense, a daughter of the late Walter and Laura Kalinawski Henkel.  Prior to her retirment, she was employed as a shuttle bus driver in Houston, Texas. Ruth was a member of AARP 3221. She enjoyed playing cards at Twin Oaks with her lady friends, loved baby sitting her grand cats, making jewelry and participating in activities at the former Norwin Community Resource Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Ralph Henkel. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Sklenar (Ronald), her son, Mike Watson (Paula), three brothers, Daniel Henkel (Jo), Edward Henkel, Kenneth Henkel (Susan), three sisters,Loretta McCafferty (Bob), Jo Ann Orzulak (John), Anna Marie Lenhart (Ken). Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 12-4 P.M. at which time a service will be held at 4 P.M.  in the funeral home chapel. Lawrence W. Jacobs, 76, of Irwin , passed away February 27, 2024 at UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born February 11, 1948 in Churchill , a son of the late Joseph J. Jacobs Jr. and Lois Sumner Jacobs. Larry spent his professional life as a computer analyst, working for a variety of organizations from West Penn Hospital (28 years) to Lucent Technologies to Au Bon Pan restaurants, from which he retired. While he loved computers, he had many personal passions, including all things science, religion and nature. In particular, he was an avid bird watcher, coin collector and bowler. He also was a proud Army veteran, serving as a computer specialist in Okinawa in the Vietnam war. Larry was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife Jerri Jacobs, daughter Donna and her husband Jason Peak (of Virginia); grand-daughter, Cassidy; and sister Gail Russell and her husband Louis (of New Jersey). There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held in late spring 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the American Cancer Society in his name. James W. Joachim and Anne Parish - the former St. Mark's Church, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, the late Joseph Prisbylla, who passed away September 12, 1993, and her siblings: Joseph, Frank, John, Louis, and John R. Salopek, Mary Francetic, Margaret Thompson, Ann Hafner, and Katherine Marlatt.  She is survived by her children Barbara (Bernie) Krah of Saltzburg and Lawrence (Laura) Prisbylla of Castle Shannon; her grandchildren Brian Krah, Michael (Molly) Bennett, Sarah (Mike) Dmowski, Benjamin Prisbylla, and Hannah (Anthony) Auberzinski; her great-grandchildren Madison Krah, Miles and Maggie Bennett, and Sobek Auberzinski; her dear friends Diane Carr and Laura Conrad; her sister-in-law Stella Muschweck; and also nieces and nephews.

Catherine M. “Cathy” Scharding, age 65, of Duquesne, passed away on February 23, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian. Born in Pittsburgh on April 17, 1958, she was the daughter of Donald and Eva (Noll) Scharding. 

She was a retired paralegal and was Catholic by faith. She earned a B.S. in Finance from Washington and Jefferson College and a paralegal degree from Duquesne University.  Catherine was a community activist-zealous about keeping her neighborhood clean and safe. 

She is the sister of Sarah “Sally” (David Horne) Scharding of Bethel Park, Albert (Elizabeth) Scharding of Munhall and Andrew Scharding of Duquesne; and aunt of Amber Scharding, Thomas Scharding, Samantha Horne and the late Sandra Scharding. She is also survived by cousins.

Audrey was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in North Huntingdon and was the owner of Sturkie Masonry along with her husband. She cherished nothing more than the time she spent with her family. In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Sturkie, and daughters Sherrie Gibson, Laura Demeis, Donna Sturkie, and Toni Sturkie. Henry "Hank" Dansak

Henry “Hank” Dansak, formerly of McKeesport, passed away on February 20, 2024 in Abington, Pa. Hank was born on March 27, 1930, to Henry and Mary (Francis) Dansak. After his primary and secondary education, Hank enlisted in the United States Army. The skills he learned in the army became the basis for his lifelong career in radio, telephone, and satellite communication systems. This career of more than 50 years took him to countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Central America where he built or repaired a variety of communication systems on military bases used by American Forces. He could talk for hours about the places he lived, the work he did and the people he met along the way.  Hank retired to Rosslyn, Pa. where he continued to hone his love for golf at Sandy Run Country Club, where he was proud to be one of its oldest members. 

Hank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Aree (Klawsamoot) Dansak of Bangkok, Thailand, his daughter, Jacqueline, his son, Daniel, and his grandson, Devon, of Philadelphia. He is also survived by one brother, Father Thomas Dansak, of Murrysville, Pa., his sisters-in-law Jean Dansak of North Huntingdon, Pa. and Melissa Dansak of Fair Hope, Al., nephews Ryan and David of North Huntingdon, and great-nieces Katherine, Anna, Emily and Grace of North Huntingdon.  Hank was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel Dansak MD, and his brother Robert “Chick” Dansak.

She was born November 13, 1934 in Wilkinsburg and was the daughter of the late Harry Joseph and Cora Elizabeth (Smeltz) Horne.   She worked as an accounting secretary for Easley and Rivers Construction, Inc.  Janice was a member of the Liberty Boro Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and was also a former member of the Turtle Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder. In her younger years, she was a great swimmer and competitive diver, for which she was very proud of.  Janice had a contagious and wonderful laugh that lit up the whole room. She was a very kind and generous person, who never once complained.  She will be greatly missed.
