Ralph A. Yanez, 94 of North Huntingdon, died peacefully on October 11, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 24, 1929, in McKeesport, a son of the late Ralph and Sanjuana Jimenez Yanez. Prior to his retirement, Ralph was employed as a draftsman at Davo Company. Ralph was a retired veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a member of the Disabled Veteran's Association. In his free time, he took pride in caring for his property and looked forward to spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Isabella, two brothers John Yanez and Joseph Yanez, and five sisters Antonia Yanez, Angelina Yanez, Concepeion Yanez, Virginia Yanez and Conchita Yanez. He is survived by five children, Ralph Yanez (Karen), Angelina Yanez, William Yanez (Deborah), Joseph Yanez (Karen), and Samuel Yanez (Carrie), grandchildren Danielle Kukic (Chris), Angelina Yanez (Andrew), Sean Yanez (Claire), Raymond Yanez (Casey), Katie Yanez (fiancé Jordan), Andrew Yanez, Addison Yanez, and Hayden Yanez, and great-grandchildren Emma, Luke, Riley, Avery, Wyatt, and Levi. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon PA. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at a time to be announced, with interment to follow in St. Mary's German Cemetery. Adela L. Senica, age 77 of Jeannette, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, while surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 24, 1946 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Wilbert and Louise Pollard Demorest. Adela loved to spend time with her family. Adela cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and homemaker, and she enjoyed listening to talk shows on AM radio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Demorest Sr. and Marvin Demorest, and one sister Charlene Kerlin. She is survived by two sons, David Senica (Cindy) and John Senica, one daughter Christie Senica, one brother, Wilbert Demorest, one sister Carrie Ruzyc (John), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-5 PM with a service at 5 PM. Interment will be private at Westmoreland Memorial Park. Mary Catherine Baves, age 72, of West Homestead, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Born in Braddock on July 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Stanley R. and Alice Styk. She was a retired clerk for the City of Pittsburgh School District, enjoyed reading books, was an excellent cook and collected knick knacks.

She is the wife of 46 years to Michael L. Baves; sister of Debbie (George) Hreha of Boardman, OH, Robert (Late Brenda) Styk of Dubois, Janis (Scot) Ford of New Brighton, Beverly (Gary) Styk of North East, PA, Stanley (Diane) Styk of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and the late Carol Jean Styk; sister-in-law of Loretta May “Cookie” (Bruce) Miller of New Smyrna, FL.

Claudia M. Phillips, 86, of Jeannette, formerly of McKeesport and Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1938 in Bunola and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Tignanelli) Greco.  Claudia was the wife of the late William J. "Bill" Phillips, who passed away April 25, 2009.  She was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township. Claudia was a selfless full time mother and grandmother, who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing piano, dancing, flower gardening and watching westerns, her favorite was Gun Smoke. She will be greatly missed.

Donato "Dan" Alexander Capocciama , 92, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024. He was born February 1, 1932 in Clairton and was the son of the late Patsy and Anna (Pholar) Capocciama. Dan was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and retired from Giant Eagle in Elizabeth. He had previousley worked for Marraccini's in White Oak. Dan was a US Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. For his service he received the National Defense service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star.

Hall, age 90, of White Oak, died October 5, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport.  Born September 25, 1934, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Blank) Taylor and wife of the late Robert J. Hall.  When her children were young, the family would take camping trips to Prince Gallitzin State Park and other areas, pitching a tent for weeks.  She was a past cook at the White Oak American Legion and a former member of the St. Mary German Church in McKeesport.  Stella was always looking for a good deal at second-hand stores and garage sales.

Mary Louise Orlando, 83, of McKeesport passed away Friday, October 4, 2024. She was born May 14, 1941 and was raised in McKeesport by the late James and Gertrude (Canfield) Gabriel, Sr. She was the wife of 58 years to the late Salvatore Thomas Orlando, before his passing in April 2019. Mary Lou was best known for her contagious laugh, remaining positive through the toughest of times, and her unparallel strength to overcome the odds. Her greatest joy in life was spending time her family during summer vacations at the Jersey Shore, holiday gatherings, Sunday dinners, and grilling in the backyard. Mary Lou worked hard her entire life - caring not only for her children and grandchildren, but as a compassionate Nursing Assistant at McKeesport Hospital for 20 years. Later in life she enjoyed working the front desk at De Blasio's Designs where she always greeted people with a smile and made many long-time friends.

Joseph Karl Gajdos, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1946 to his parents Steve (Pete) Gajdos and Anne (Magdic) Gajdos. A lifelong resident of the Duquesne-West Mifflin Annex area. He married MaryAnn Novosel on February 15, 1969. Joe was employed at USS Duquesne Works from 1965-1983, in the Maintenance Planning and Development Department. He was then employed at Westinghouse Nuclear Services business unit where he worked as a nuclear parts specialist, product planner, and customer service representative at the New Stanton campus from 1984 until he retired in 2009. Joe served in the US Army as a specialist E5 helicopter mechanic from 1966 until 1968 when he was honorably discharged. He served in the 55th Maintenance Battalion in Camp Humphrys, Korea.

Surviving him is his wife MaryAnn, his daughter Stephanie (late Spank) Zabelsky of Duquesne, PA, his loving grandchildren Jenna (fiancé, Alex Weber) and Jake Zabelsky of Duquesne, PA, his sister Kathy (Dennis) Rakowski of South Park, PA and his beloved dog Xena. He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (Duquesne-Lodge 320), the American Croatian Club of Duquesne, the TM Social Club of Duquesne, and the Pine Run Outboard Club of Bunola, PA. Joe enjoyed boating the 3 rivers with his family and close friends and attending the picnics at Aleo Lake. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends on Mondays and Thursdays at Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth, PA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 1-6:30 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Funeral Service will be held at the end of visitation at 6:30 p.m., with Rev. Nick Mastrangelo, officiating. She retired after 25 years as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Clairton then Elizabeth. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, baking, and trips to the casino with family and friends, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born February 17, 1936 in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Paul M. and Stephanna (Anjeski) Slavick and wife of the late Francis Gilford "Smitty" Smith. She is survived by son, Ralph G. (Kathy) Smith of Forward Twp.; daughter, Kathy Smith of Forward Twp.; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Michaels of Forward Twp. and Nicole Smith of Greensburg; great-grandchildren, Peyton Michaels, Easton Michaels and Xxaiver Grubbs; siblings, Joann Weiss of Jefferson Hills, Patricia Wedel of Pleasant Hills, George (Judy) Slavick of Elizabeth Twp. and Michael Slavick of Belle Vernon; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Robert P. Judith Anne (Hilton) Kuzman, age 86 and a long time resident of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024.  Born February 25, 1938 in Patterson Heights, Beaver Co., PA, she was the only child of the late Harold E. and Elizabeth (Tucker) Hilton and spent her childhood in Mt. Lebanon.  Judy worked for the Bethel Park School District for 20 years in various positions and was a former president of the Bethel Park VFD Ladies' Auxiliary, a former chairman of Bethel Park Recreation, and will be remembered for dedicating her life to the youth of Bethel Park.  She was proud to be one of the first Candy Stripers at St. Clair Hospital where she met her husband when he was there as a patient.
