Karen Lee Balog, age 68, of White Oak died May 18, 2017 at home. Born September 9, 1948 in Homestead, she was the daughter of the late Martin K. Gillette and the living Dorothy M. (James) Gillette and the wife of James Balog for 30 loving years. Karen loved to go out and dance with her husband and friends. She collected cookbooks and made many dishes from them. In addition to her mother and husband, Karen is survived by her step children, Sarah Balog and David (Danielle) Balog; step granddaughter Kayla DiMeo; step grandchildren Krystel and Danny Balog; sister, Debbie Navilliat; niece, Chantillie Navilliat; nephew, Steven Navilliat, great nephew Brandon Navilliat. Karen is preceded in death by her nephew Thomas Navilliat. Family and friends will be received at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday May 22, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Daniel Borsay will officiate. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. She was the wife of the late William H. Craig and the mother of the late John M. Craig. She was a member of the Mt.Vernon Presbyterian Church, McKeesport Garden Club.She is survived by sons William C. (Victoria) Craig, James P. (Barbara) Craig a daughter Susan (Larry) Cooper and daughter in law Anita Craig. She is also survived by 11grand children and 18 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins. He was born March 17, 1934 in Darragh, a son of the late Robert and Cora (Fair) Jones and was also preceded in death by his wife Doris (McGraw) Jones. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from General Tire, Jeannette after thirty five years’ service. He was a member of Shidle Lodge No. 601, F. & A. M., Irwin, and a longtime member of the Bromas Club. He was also a member of L.O.O.M. Lodge 236, Irwin, Norwin Elks, and the American Legion Post 359, Irwin. He is survived by his children Kimberly Jones and Charles W. Jones Jr.; a brother Donald Jones and sister Irene Leach; also nieces and nephews including special niece Denise (Shon) Harrity.

He was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Harrison City, The Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the VFW. He was an Army veteran and went on to work as a soil scientist for the U.S. Government for over 25 years before retiring. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Susan Lippincott; sister Anna; and brothers Vince, Andrew and John. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years Elizabeth “Betty” (Churey) Kopas; children Frank Andrew Kopas of Harrison City and Beth Ann (Kirk) Patterson of Irwin; son-in-law Rich Lippincott of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren Olivia Lippincott, Ryan Patterson, Niki Patterson, Alex Lippincott and Rachel Patterson; sister Catherine Sampey of Fairchance; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca L. “Becky” Musgrave, 75, of New York, NY, formerly of Irwin, died Friday May 12, 2017. She was born January 8, 1942 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Samuel A. and Alice McAfee Musgrave. Becky grew up in Irwin and moved to New York in the mid 1960’s. She worked for the United Nations in the environmental statistical department retiring in the late 1990’s. She was an accomplished artist studying portrait drawing most recently, and was part of an art gallery in her New York community. She is survived by her son Joshua Musgrave and his spouse Philippe Costet of Florham Park, NJ, and a sister Susan F. Dunbar and her spouse Rick of Bisbee AZ. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main Street, Irwin, with Rev. Ronald Durika, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. He was a retired Machinist and General Foreman for General Dynamics and was also a former Instructor for Machinists at CCAC South Campus. He is survived by his wife, Marlene A. Runge Corazzelli, children, Katherine (Edward) Kokoszka, James E. (Annette) Silverman and Beth Ann (James) Leonaitis of CT, and Donna (William) Hopkins of NC, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Rae Kessler, 91, of White Oak died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Riverside Nursing Center.  Born in Glassport, July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Myer and Rose Recht Alpern and wife of the late Robert Kessler.  She was a buyer for the former Gimbel’s Department Stores, and worked until age 82 at their Eastland and Pittsburgh locations.  She was a member of the Congregation Gemilas Chesed and its Sisterhood and Hadassah.  She is survived by 2 sons, Steven Kessler of Pittsburgh and Mark (Stephanie) Kessler of Dallas, TX; 5 grandchildren, Matt Kessler of Pittsburgh, Katie Bertsch of Alpine, WY, Robert Kessler of Frisco, TX, Jenny Kessler of Seattle, WA, and Hannah Kessler of Dallas, TX; a great grandson, Benjamin Kessler of Frisco, TX; 2 sisters, Sylvia Newman of White Oak and Rochelle Glanz of Pittsburgh; also by nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 in the Original Gemilas Chesed Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Moshe Russell officiating.  Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 is in charge of arrangements.  The family suggests contributions to the Congregation Gemilas Chesed, 1400 Summit Street, McKeesport, PA  15131.

(Sant) Bailey. She was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish and was an avid reader. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Joseph (Lisa) Petrozza, of Mooresville, NC; grandmother of Anthony, of Atlanta, Holland Felts, of New York, NY, and Landon Felts, of Mooresville, NC; sister of LaRue (Edward) Kennedy, Sharon Hughes, and John Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Anthony Michael Petrozza in 2005; and siblings, Janice (Jim) Ferraro, Arlene (George) Meert, Diane (Lou) Eros, and James (Ernie) DeLiberato. Visitation on Saturday, May 20, 2017,  from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, PA, 412-466-3300, where a blessing service will be held   with Fr. Thomas Lewandowski officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, West Mifflin. Mary Louise (Stewart) Emanuel, age 86 of North Huntingdon, went home to Heaven on Monday, May 15, 2017. She was born October 3, 1930, to the late Raymond Stewart and Irene (Saunders) Stewart. Born and raised in Wilkinsburg, she was one of seven children. In 1949, she married her teenage sweetheart Reese Emrys Emanuel, and together they raised three daughters. Mary spent many years working as a secretary near her home in Export. After retiring, she and her husband moved to North Carolina were they enjoyed the sunshine, square dancing and spending time with close friends. They eventually returned home to Pennsylvania and have spent the last several years with their children and grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Circleville United Methodist Church.
