She was born in Irwin, a daughter of the late Clarence and Vera (Cook) Whitehead and was also preceded in death by her husband Marion C. Painter and a son Calvin C. Painter. Along with her late husband they operated M.C. Painter Excavation. She was a former member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Irwin, and formerly active with the Hahntown Women’s Club. She loved the outdoors. Surviving are her children Alan R. (Cynthia) Painter; her daughter in law LaRue Painter; her grandchildren Bria (Kevin) Craycraft, Lindy (Brian) Charney, Roy (Grace) Painter, Matthew Stants Painter (Erin), and Sabrina (David) Rose; also sixteen grandchildren; a sister Loretta (Chuck) Faith of South Carolina; also nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 47 years Lawrence Geyer; brother Jack Marsula; and sister Bernice Katherine Lasher. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Susan) Geyer Jr. of Chalfant; and granddaughter Elizabeth Geyer.

Jay was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. For his service he received the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, National Service Medal, United Service Medal and the ROK Presidential Unit Citation. He is survived by his wife, Marcella (Soubeyrand) Miller, 4 sons, 2 daughters, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a sister.
