Ronald Eric Sopko, 47, of Murrysville, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019. He was born March 7, 1971 in McKeesport and was the son of Linda M. (Wigand) Sopko of Level Green and the late Ronald H. Sopko. Ron was the youngest of three children. He was a 1989 graduate of Penn Trafford High School and then acquired his associates degree in electricity at Dean Technical Institute. Ronald loved his job as a Postman.

Edward A. Valencik, "Mr. V", 93 of Glassport, died Feb. 7, 2019. He is the son of the late John and Rose (Simko) Valencik. He is the beloved husband of Dorothy (Terek) Valencik; children Elaine (Samuel) DeMarco, Ron (Claudia) Valencik, Janine (Angelo Norelli) Valencik and Linda (Bob) Dzialowski; grandchildren Emily (Dave) Kelly, Elise DeMarco, Julia (David) Callahan, Luke Urbanski, Zachary Urbanski, Lauren Dzialowski, Megan Dzialowski, Erin Dzialowski and John Dzialowski; great grandchildren Ailee Callahan, Dorothy Callahan and baby Callahan, Hawthorne Kelly and Asher Kelly. He was preceded in death by his brother John Lynch. Ed was a well known and much loved retired gym teacher at South Allegheny High School, where he also taught health, biology and science. He was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish; CMO; Glassport Duck Pin League and Glassport Senior Citizens. He was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh; played semi pro baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals; was an avid golfer and a huge Steelers fan. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Sun. 2 to 6. A funeral blessing will be held Mon. 10:00 am in the funeral home. Entombment following New St. Joseph Cemetery.

Betty Jean “B J” Budday, 89, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at AHN Jefferson Hospital. She was born November 11, 1929, in McKeesport, to the late William and Opal McClelland Wilson. Betty was the loving wife of the late Edgar W. Budday Sr. for 70 years. She is survived by sons, Edgar W. Budday Jr. of Jefferson Hills, Joseph J. Budday of Jefferson Hills, James (Anna) Reid Budday of Wilson, SC; grandchildren, James W. and Michael R. Budday. Along with her parents and spouse, Betty was preceded in death by siblings, Dolores Smith-Barber and William E. Wilson. She was a graduate of McKeesport High School, attended Community College where she received a nursing degree, was a member of Pine Run UMC in Clairton where she taught Sunday School Class, enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was a Holy Matron in the Order of The Eastern Star. Arrangements have been entrusted to S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. A memorial service at Pine Run UMC will take place at a later date as will inurnment at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pine Run United Methodist Church, 901 N 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. Lynda J. (Rosgone) Bacco, 76, of North Versailles, passed away Sunday February 3, 2019. She was born July 31, 1942 in Homestead, a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Papp) Rosgone. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arturo V. Bacco and a brother Gregg Rosgone. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, and a member of Mon Yough area council of PTAs for 42 years serving two terms as president. She loved children and had a passion for helping them grow. She attended Robert Morris University, was a fashion model in New York City and Pittsburgh, and also owned and operated her own jewelry business for over 30 years. She was a true animal lover having rescued many during her lifetime.

John Peter Frydrych, 95, passed away February 4, 2019 at Golden Heights Personal Care in Penn Township. He was born in Wilmerding on May 5, 1923 to the late Walter and Nellie (Kasprzyk) Frydrych.
John grew up in Wilmerding where he lived for 92 years. He graduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1941 and proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II from September 1942 through December 1945. After arriving back home in 1945 John went back to work for the Westinghouse Airbrake Company in Wilmerding. He retired after 44 years of service as a machinist.
John married his late wife Sophie (Czekaj) Frydrych in 1968 and was happily married for 46 years. John was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish and the former St. Leocadia Church. He served his church and family selflessly.
