Dr. Ramon Garcia Lozano, age 75, of Elizabeth Township, died on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born on September 4, 1946 in Manila, Philippines and is the son of the late Fernando and Natividad Garcia Lozano. He was a nephrologist and worked 44 years in private practice. He was a past Medical Director for Davita Dialysis in Oak Park Mall, the former Chairman of the Nephrology Department at UPMC McKeesport, served as a FAA Medical Examiner for many years, and was board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Geriatrics. He was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, Saint Michael’s Church.

Harry H. Evans, age 91, of Rostraver Township, formerly of White Oak, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 2, 2022 to be reunited with his wife and son. He was born in McKeesport on December 8, 1930 and is the son of the late Daniel and Francis Duncan Evans. He retired from Kinton Carbide in Export, PA. Harry was a 52-year member of White Oak American Legion Post 701. Harry was known for his big heart, his love for his family, and his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and family.

Marion Faye Ward, age 58, of McKeesport, died April 1, 2022, at home. Born June 11, 1963, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Shirley (Winemiller) Furman.
Marion enjoyed painting and collecting crystals. Marion always said her grand-babies were her heart.
Marion is survived by her children, Shirley (Brian) Ward, Lindsay (James) Ward, and Devon (Steve) Ward, all of McKeesport; son-at-heart, Bobby Hast of McKeesport; grandchildren, Dominic, Blake, Jayden, Raina (Isaac), Reese, Rumor, Tammy, Ryder, Edward, Sherry, Barbara, Travis, Synphony, Tyler, and Stephen; great-grandson, Jace; sisters, Deborah Furman of McKeesport and Sandra Furman Nolder of McKeesport; sister-at-heart, Robin Harbert of SC; and dog, Levi.

Edward "Eddie" Mitchell, age 66, died April 1, 2022, at home in McKeesport. He was born the eldest of six children on December 21, 1955, in Wilkinsburg, PA, to the late Smith Sr. and Juanita Mitchell. Eddie was a caring and devoted husband of the late Denise Mitchell. For many years he was a painter and owner of Mitchell's Painting. He retired as a supervisor in Environmental Services at U.S. Steel. Eddie was a diehard Steeler fan and loved watching the games. He also enjoyed going to the casino, cracking jokes, and having fun with his brothers and best friend, Ted. Eddie was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

William F. "Chip" Brown, 60, of Murrysville formerly of Level Green, passed away April 1, 2022 at home surrounded by family. He was born October 21, 1961 in Pittsburgh a son of William C. and Darlene J. (Connelly) Brown. Chip worked for ZOLL Life Vest, Pittsburgh. He was a member and post president of The Level Green Lions Club, he enjoyed camping in his R.V. and sitting by the camp fire with his dog Max. He was a classic car lover, his favorite car model was a 1962 Imperial. In addition to his parents, Chip is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Sallianne (Austin) Brown, children Laura E. (Michael) Miller of North Huntingdon, Andrew W. (Lindsey) Brown of East McKeesport, and Katherine (K.J.) Heinritz of North Huntingdon; grandchildren Harper Jean and Rowan Robert Heinritz; brothers Peter (Peggy) Brown of Florida, Douglas (Lori) Brown of North Huntingdon, and Dennis (Kristin) Brown of Level Green; also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cynthia A. Merritt, age 66, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 after a brave fight with cancer. She was born May, 16, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a daughter of the late Robert and Augustina Merritt. She dedicated her life to caring for others and worked for over 25 years at Sandin Home Heath in East McKeesport and then for over 5 years at Med Health Services in Monroeville. Everyone that knew her thought she was a “firecracker” and had a stubborn nature, but loved her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Michael Merritt. She is survived by Don Watt that spent over 40 years together; children Michelle (Francis) Smith of East McKeesport and Richard (Laurie) Burns of East McKeesport; grandchildren Skylar McLeod, Deon Smith, Marisa Smith, Sabryn Burns, Michael Smith, and Seren Burns; great granddaughter Melina McLeod; brother Anthony (Dee Dee) Merritt of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sister Annena Kreller of Irwin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born April 14, 1926 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Jesse (Wood) Way. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Schmidt who passed away February 9, 2004. Jean was a member, organist and pianist at the former First Baptist Church of Frank. She was also organist at the former Bell Chapel in Buena Vista. She was retired from the Elizabeth Forward School District.

Gloria "Glo" Crawford, age 96, of White Oak, died March 31, 2022, at home. Born January 5, 1926, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Chauncey E. and Amelia (Jones) Paulin and wife of the late William R. Crawford. Glo worked for U.S. Steel as a steel buyer for 20 years and would retire from by Jiminee Inc. She was a member of Kephart United Methodist Church, Home Gardener's Club of McKeesport, and AARP White Oak Chapter #2294. Gloria gave back to her community by volunteering at the McKeesport Hospital Gift Shop, Operation Blessing Food Distribution Mission, and was a Girl Scout Leader, and Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, baking, cooking, sewing, and shopping.

Lurray D. Blatchford, age 83 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Jefferson Hospital. Born September 29, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Eugene R. Bailey and Ruth Adele (Beeker) Wheat Bailey. A retired customer service representative with area banks, most recenly BNY Mellon, Lurray enjoyed needlepoint and reading in her spare time and was obsessed with cookbooks and word searches. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Earl Blatchford, who passed away June 15, 1996, her brother Charles Wheat, and her sister Ellen B. Singleton. Lurray is survived by her brother Eugene (Sandra) Bailey of Newark, DE; her nieces and nephews: Carrie (Shane) O'Hare, Brooke (Matthew) Hopkins, Elaine (Jim) Bubella, Donna (David) Miller, Charles (Sharon) Wheat, Jr., Janine (Bill) Cain, Kevin Singleton, Katherine and Neve O'Hare, and Andrew Evans; and also other family and many dear friends.

Danielle Beal, age 75, of Duquesne, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in Jefferson Hospital. Born on December 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Gazda) Trtica. She was retired from PNC Bank-Duquesne as an Assistant Manager and then as Manager from the Century Square Office. She was Catholic by faith, and she also was the fish breader, poker machine player, beer drinker, cigarette smoker, bookkeeper and cook at the Duquesne Croatian Club. She is the mother of Dean (Virginia) Beal of West Mifflin and Heather Ordos; has six grandchildren including Ashley Beal and Alaina Beal; and is the former wife of George “Bob” Beal. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 12-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B.
