William C. Whitehead, age 92, of North Huntingdon, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born May 28, 1928 in Irwin, a son of the late Clarence R. and Sara E. (Daily) Whitehead. Prior to his retirement, Bill was a master tool and die maker for GM and attended The First Presbyterian Church in Irwin. He was a graduate of Norwin High School Class of 1947. He was involved in many activities such as Rough Riders Assoc., Swinging Squares of Irwin and Herold Grange Square Dancers, White Oak Gun Club, Laurel Highlands Coachman, the Winnebago Club, and the Odd Fellows. Bill was a board member of the Auto Workers Federal Credit Union. He was involved in may more activities, but his true love was his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth J. Romig Whitehead; sons, William C. Jr., Larry and Gary; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Whitehead. He is survived by his sons, Bruce, Mark (Suzie), and Rick; daughters, Linda Somerville and her husband, Joseph, and Janet Gilbert and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Douglas (Vicky) Whitehead, Melanie (Richard) Freese, Adam Whitehead, Michael Whitehead, Samantha (Bill) Kane, Ashton (Michael) Wertz, Linnea (Drew) Wortmann, Courtney Whitehead; great-grandchildren, Dante, Kylie, Abby, Bryce, Maddox, Riley, Eden, Bryer, Wren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his little dog Toby. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. Robert Lee Monnie, 76, of North Versailles, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Manor Care, Monroeville.  He was born September 17, 1944 in Meadville, Pa., a son of the late Charles and Pauline (Cook) Monnie.  Prior to his retirement, Robert was an electrician and small machine mechanic and a veteran of the US Air Force having served during Vietnam.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sports, antique cars and attending car shows.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Uncle Bud" Monnie.  He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice Rose (Frazier) Monnie; son, Darrin Monnie and his wife, Shelly; daughter, Dawn Klasnick and her husband, Ryan; grandchildren, Lacie (Mark) Brooks, Ted Klasnick, Allyssa Gavorn and Ron Gavorn.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Jonah Hercules Fite, 43, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2021. Jonah was born on January 12, 1978 in Mexico City, Mexico. He was the son of James Mitchell Fite and Lucinda Brewer Fite McHolme. His young life was spent living and attending schools in State College, Elizabeth and later Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. After one year at State High, Jonah spent his sophomore year of high school studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico before returning to the U.S. and graduating from Elizabeth Forward High School in Elizabeth Township, PA in 1996. An honors student and men’s varsity soccer athlete, Jonah went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University where he majored in International Business and Spanish. Jonah was a proud Brother of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity at CMU, as well. After being diagnosed with mental illness in 1998, Jonah was in a constant battle for his mental health and well-being. In the years that followed, Jonah selflessly donated his time helping others who suffered from similar afflictions.

Rickard of Lake City, Pa, Judy (Jack) Fouser of West Mifflin, Dr. David J. Rickard of Kure Beach, NC and Dory J. Rickard of White Oak; grandsons  Brett (Dina) Fouser, Brian Fouser and Brad Fouser; great granddaughters Brynn and Dessa; brother Samuel Vincent Rickard, sisters Marie  Hamilton and Dorothy Cancilla; also nieces  and nephews.  Jim was retired from Bell Telephone Company where he worked for over 40 years; was a member of Bell Telephone Workers Credit Union; and was very involved with Duquesne High School Reunion Committee.  Anyone who knew Jim, loved Jim. Susan (Nero) Basilone, age 93 of Ellenton, FL and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 in Life Path Hospice, Sun City Center, Brandon, FL.  Born June 21, 1927 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Mary Louise (Pasalaqua) Nero.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, Susan worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and retired from the Croatian Fraternal Union in Monroeville. She was also a member of the Sons of Columbus, Genova Council #6 of Clairton and the Bell Pioneer.  Susan is survived by her son Anthony (Denise) Basilone of Ellenton FL, his son Christopher (Shyra) Basilone and his daughter Nadia, and daughters Bianca and Gianna Basilone; her daughter Michelle (Michael) Mitchko of Canonsburg, her sons Michael (Courtney) Mitchko and their sons James and Maxwell and Matthew (Vanessa) Mitchko and their children Ava and Mason.; her son Jim (Kristen) Basilone of Murrysville his sons Jimmy (Erica) Basilone and their children Niko and Keegan and Joshua (Cristen) Basilone; and her son and Jim’s twin John (Beata) Basilone of Manchester, NH and his children Dana (Grant) O’Hara and their children Dominic, Nico, and Lucca, Jonathan (Danielle) Basilone and their children Anthony and Lino, and Shane Basilone;  also many nieces and nephews; and Susan’s dear friend who was like a daughter to her: Donna (Rick) Selby.  Besides her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her great-grandson Liam Basilone; her sister Ann Yacavace; and her brothers Anthony, Dominic, and Carl Nero who are all eagerly awaiting her arrival in Heaven.

James Anthony Cottone, 74 of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died on May 5, 2021. He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania as one of eight children on December 11, 1946, to the late Eugene and Angeline (Leeper) Cottone. James was a 1965 graduate of Clairton High School and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a steelworker for the USS Irvin Works for nearly 20 years and worked as an insurance broker for the remainder of his very hardworking career, which continued until his death. James was a talented football player for Clairton High School and Parsons College. Throughout his life, he enjoyed camping, boating, dancing, music, sports, and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his daughter Ellen (James) Richey; sisters Joann (Jack) Geary and Mary Ann (Robert) Melani; and brothers Eugene (Bonnie) Cottone and Robert (Cindy) Cottone, and companion Dorothy Smoyer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony (Janet) Cottone and Frank (Dinka) Cottone as well as his sister Carmel (William) Donnelly.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 9th from 6-8 and Monday, May 10th from 2-4 and 6-8 at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. Veronica Kinch, of Montgomery, Texas, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully from this life to eternal rest, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 1.  Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Opatick.  Frank, her husband of 56 years, preceded her in death, along with four siblings:  Bernard (Natalie), Eugene ‘Skip’ (Elaine), Lawrence ‘Tubby’ (Norma, surviving), Marianne (Ronald).

Veronica is survived by her children Jonathan ‘Jay’ (Becki), Timothy (Kim), and Laura Jean (Sean); seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Frank), Brittanie, Jacqueline, Jennifer (Greg), Troy (Linzie), Ryan and Darren; three great-grandchildren Blaine, Priscilla Grace, and Paizley; her helpful nephew, Wayne; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and her cat Maggie.

During her life, she built a successful career as a Sales Representative for Bell Telephone, later Verizon, and was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother, Gramsey, Great Gram, and Aunt.  She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, graduated from Duquesne High School, and was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, in Duquesne, PA., for more than 60 years.  She loved animals, was passionate about her garden and yard, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.  She was proud of her entire family and always showed an interest by keeping in touch with everyone.
