Leslie Robert Fiduccia, age 74, of Liberty Borough, passed away on September 21, 2021, at AHN Jefferson Hospital.  Born April 19, 1947, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Evanko) Fiduccia and husband of the late Donna (Fry) Fiduccia.  Les was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam.  He was a truck driver for almost 50 years.  In his pastime, he enjoyed walking his dog Lucy, spending time at the casino, and watching Westerns.  His most recent hobby was collecting Harley-Davidson shirts, shot glasses, and coins.  However, his favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved teasing them and making them laugh. Pap made sure he was there for all their significant milestones.

Helvi Sjöblom Gogots passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born March 3, 1923 in Alajärvi, Finland to Adolph and Anna (Takala) Sjöblom and came to the Pittsburgh area at the age of 6 months. She is survived by children, James Gogots (Joyce Hall) and Lynn (Chuck) Ejzak; grandchildren, Philip and Julia Ejzak; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Gogots; brothers, Toivo and Edwin Sjöblom; and sister, Helen Jones. She spent most of her life in Jefferson Hills. After graduating from Clairton High School, she worked for All American Aviation, the predecessor of Allegheny Airlines/USAir. She also worked as a secretary for several firms and as a travel agent. She loved to travel and do ballroom dancing. She was a member of the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society, Scandinavian Society of Western PA, the Finlandia Foundation/Finnish Room Committee of the University of Pittsburgh, and Red Hat Society.

Michael Paul Ballas, age 84, of North Huntington, PA, passed away on September 21st, 2021 after a series of recent strokes and a courageous battle with cancer over the last 15 years. Michael was the beloved husband of Norma Lee Ballas for 58 years and loving father of Michael R. Ballas of Delaware and Mark Ballas of Alpharetta, Georgia. Michael was also survived by his brother Jack and wife Rita, sister Mary Elizabeth McCutcheon, brother, Paul and wife Jean.

Walter Thomas Meyers, 91, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at home. He was born June 12, 1930 and was the son of the late Amos Elmer and Gladys Cullingford Meyers.  He was the loving husband of 63 years to the late Peggy Ann (Lloyd) Meyers who passed away in 2016.  Walter graduated from Elizabeth High School as Valedictorian and obtained a degree in accounting from the College of Holy Cross. He was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth. He was a U.S. Navy Commander who served in The Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired after 23 years of service.

Mary Nicoludis, age 84, of White Oak, died September 19, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born June 15, 1937, in Kalavarda, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Emmanouel and Despina (Zervos) Maroulakis.

Mary was a hairstylist and owned a shop most of her career.  Later in life, she still enjoyed cutting and styling hair for friends.  As a long-time member of Annunciation of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak, she cherished the friendships made over the years there, and they became a part of her family.

James Joseph Walsh, age 89, of Port Vue, died, September 17, 2021, at home. Born September 17, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James "Red" and Blanche (Wintermeyer) Walsh and the husband of Eleanor R. (Whitehead) Walsh for 65 years.
James retired from US Steel, Duquesne Works, where he was a steelworker. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. James was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post #447. He loved all Pittsburgh sports, and in his early years, coached baseball for the American Legion teams.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Donnelly, 64 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, at home. He was born in McKeesport on November 12, 1956, to the late Robert and Rita Morally Donnelly. Chuck was the loving husband of many years to the late Debbie Furst Donnelly. He is survived by his sister Colleen (Ray) Hicks of West Mifflin and his brother Robert (Jackie) Donnelly Jr. of Clairton. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his great nieces and nephews. Further survivors include 9 sister-in-laws and 5 brother-in-laws. Chuck had a soft spot for animals, especially his dog Chelsea, by whom he was preceded in death. He was a former member of the Italian Club of Glassport, the WAC Club, and Club 46. He enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports, his favorite team being the Pittsburgh Steelers. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. Buck, 88, of Munhall, formerly of West Mifflin, PA passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday, September 13, 2021.  She was born June 22, 1933 in Duquesne and was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Hudak) Stuno. Eleanor was the wife of the late Paul M. Buck.  She was the co-owner of the former White Oak Florist and also worked at the former Kopriver Florist in Duquesne. Eleanor served as past Secretary of the local Teleflora organization. She leaves a legacy of supreme cookie baker and was known to carry cookies to most every event or visit she attended.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Joanne Marie Ruby early Saturday morning, September 18th, 2021 at her home with our father, her partner and caregiver of 60 years by her side.  Joanne was born in McKeesport on January 27, 1938 to the late John and Ann (Bock) Dobos.  She started her career in retail while still attending high school, working for G.C. Murphy Co, Toyco, and finally JCPenney’s where she was a loyal employee for 36 years, retiring in 2012.  The most important thing to our mother was family. She was our rock and inspiration. She was there for all of us through the good and bad, for every one of our life’s “firsts” and wasn’t afraid to put us in our place when need be. She is survived by our father, Ronald L. Ruby of McKeesport; her children John  (Theresa) Ruby of Mt. Pleasant, Beth (Christopher) Straka of Latrobe, and Amy (Tony) Cunningham of Lincoln Place; her nine grandchildren who were the light of her life and will miss her deeply: Johnathan Ruby, Kayla Ruby, Ethan Ruby, Erika Rose Kellerman, whom she cherished like a daughter, Nikolas Kellerman (Kaitlyn Swiger), Megan Joanne Kellerman, Ryan Cunningham; and Shannon Cunningham; her special CUJO wiener dog Tucker; and her sister Marian Storch of Monroeville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.  “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.”

Robert "Bob" Ralph Thomas, 91, formerly of Duquesne, passed away at Kane Regional Center in McKeesport.  He was the son of the late Ronald and Edith (Lucas) Thomas of Duquesne.  Bob is survived by his brothers Kenneth of Leechburg and Glenn of Canandaigua, NY; cousin James (Ruby) Thomas of Virginia.  Known as Uncle Bob to his nieces and nephews:  Mary (Ron) Urbaniak, Ronald G. (Debbie) Thomas, Arthur (Amanda) Thomas, Matthew (Laura) Thomas, Mary Edith (Eron) Lyons; great nieces and nephews Eric and Leah Urbaniak, Christine, Ronald H. and Mitchell (Breanna) Thomas, Amber Thomas, Michael and Brennan Thomas, Lucas and Liam Lyons; great great niece Madilyn Thomas.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald A. Thomas, Sister-in-Law Madge Thomas and Emma Thomas and lifelong companion Phyllis Rothermal.  Bob was a retired Weigh Master for US Steel Bar Mill in Duquesne, and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Duquesne.  Bob was a gourmet cook, who enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and walking daily.  A frequent traveler, Bob has traveled all over the world and the United States.  He enjoyed hiking in many of those places includng the Rocky Mountains and the Alps of Europe.  A funeral service will be held Wed. at 11:00 am at Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.  Interment following Southside Cemetery.

Deborah M. "Debbie"  Filson, 64, of North Huntingdon, passed away, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1957 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John F. Trepanowski and Betty (Kovalyak) Trepanowski of  White Oak.  She was the wife of the late Dennis J. Filson, Sr., who passed away November 10, 2017.   Debbie was a staff member of the UPMC McKeesport Cancer Center, and would later work at Home Depot for a short time.  Debbie was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at their Corpus Christi Worship Site.  She was a proud member of The Click Clack Club. Debbie also was a surrogate mother to Truck Company Marines.

Paula Jean Pope, 61, of Hempfield Township, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. She was born August 20, 1960 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John F. Trepanowski and Betty (Kovalyak) Trepanowski of White Oak. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life, but most recently worked as an office manager at Hydro Technical Services in Elizabeth. She was a huge supporter of our veterans and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at The Port Vue American Legion Post 447. She was also a member of The West Hempfield American Legion Post 53 and The Wendel-Herminie Athletic Association. She loved camping, campfires and poker machines. Paula also loved spending time with her relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.
