Ashley Marie Snyder, 34 of Forward Township, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, September 30, 2021. She was born in Magee Hospital on October 23, 1986, to Cindy A. Snyder Ross of Clairton and Richard D. Snyder, Sr. of West Mifflin. She is survived by her significant other of 18 years, Nicholas Potter Sr. of Forward Township. She is also survived by her parents Cindy and Richard, as well as her beautiful children MaKenzie Snyder, Nicholas Potter Jr., and Khori Potter. Further survivors include her brother Richard (Gabby Boyd) Snyder, Jr of Charleroi, and her stepfather Jim Ross of Clairton. Ashley loved hard, and she loved often. She was an animal lover. Ashley was one of the real ones- she was witty, beautiful, true, and magnificently made. She was a Christian and is now home with God- no more pain, no more sorrows. Fly high my angel, we love you more than words can say. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. Joseph Makar, age 77, of White Oak, died on September 28, 2021. He was born in McKeesport on May 16, 1944 and is the son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Irene Oris Makar. He is the husband of the late Minyone Savilla Osborne Makar who died on March 16, 2021. Joseph was a physics teacher for many years at McKeesport Area School District and was also the principal of Yough High School from 1986 to 1997.

Shirley L. Johnston, age 95, of Monroeville, died September 29, 2021, at home.  Born October 29, 1925, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Niskosky) Sophia and wife of the late Edward E. Johnston.  
Shirley began her career at Westinghouse and then would retire from the McKeesport School District in the Administration Office.  When she was younger, she played the piano, organ and was a soloist at Christian Life Church in Trafford.  Shirley adored her grandchildren and loved to play Uno and Scrabble with them.

Gloria B. Sollosi, of McKeesport, died September 28th, 2021, at home. Born November 15, 1936, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Kakas) DiPerna. She was the wife of Michael T. Sollosi and they were married for 66 years.
Gloria was a graduate of St. Peter High School in McKeesport. She worked for over 30 years in the admissions department of McKeesport Hospital. She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church, and Mary, Mother of God Parish, Gloria was active in the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and The Ladies of Charity. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, baking, crocheting, sewing, helping her granddaughter Angie with her ancestry tree, and loved collecting Pandas.

She then attended Shadyside School of Nursing earning her Registered Nurse credentials in 1961 and devoted her life to nursing with her eventual retirement from Family Home Health Services, Monroeville, where she was the Director of Restorative Services.

Rochelle (Shelly) Denise Williams, 53, was born May 2, 1968, in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was the beloved daughter of Yvonne (Buckner) Smith and the late John Richardson. Rochelle departed this life on September 23, 2021, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her father, John  Richardson.   

Shelly was a 1986 graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Public Welfare Department.

Shelly had a vibrant personality and an infectious smile that lit up every room she walked in and touched every person she encountered. She was a fashionista who enjoyed shopping and being in the company of others. Shelly loved to laugh and have a great time. She was a devoted wife and mother whose children brought her great joy.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served on the J. Harold Hayes Scholarship Committee and the Esther Project.

Howard Hose, age 94, of McKeesport, died September 19, 2021, at Riverside Care Center. Born September 18, 1927, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Howard and Ella Hose and the husband of the late Eleanor (Hudak) Hose.
Howard worked for the McKeesport Candy Company for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran. Howard was a huge Pittsburgh Sports fan and enjoyed having coffee and catching up with the guys.

Howard is survived by his son, Thomas Hose; grandson, Justin Hose; and great-grandson, Austin.
