Dorothy Klasnic

In her 94th year, Dorothy (Krajack) Klasnic, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 under Amedisys Hospice Care at Arden Courts Jefferson Hills.  Born on March 11, 1928 to Croatian immigrants, the late Mijo and Dora (Kralj) Krajac, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Port Vue where she and her late husband John (Bones) Klasnic enjoyed 63 years of marriage.  Dorothy was a great baker and passed down her recipes with personal guidance to her family.  A member of Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge No.3 in McKeesport, she was proud of her Croatian heritage. she was also a member of the Port Vue Senior Citizen’s and St. Mark’s Parish.  Dorothy is survived by a loving and grateful daughter Debra Klasnic Wesolowski (Mark) of Jefferson Hills, granddaughter Julia Wesolowski Kysela (Daniel) of South Fayette and great granddaughter Katherine Kysela. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.  Dorothy was the last of her family and was preceded in death by siblings Joseph Krajack, Michael Krajack, Rose Krajack Medic and George Krajack who will surely welcome her home.  Special thanks to the staff and administration at Arden Courts for their remarkable personal care and many acts of kindness.

 Kathleen Ellen Larkin (Qualters), 73, of West Mifflin, passed away September 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Martin and Dorothy Qualters on October 31, 1948. Kathy graduated from Duquesne High School in 1966. She was married to her devoted husband of 51 years, Stephen W. Larkin who dedicated the past 6 years tirelessly caring for her around the clock. She is survived by her brother, Richard (Maggie) Qualters, two children, Stephen (Erica) Larkin and Natalie (Timothy) Llewellyn as well as two cherished grandchildren, Weston Larkin and Jack Llewellyn. Everyone who had the joy to know her, knew what a special, kind, thoughtful and amazing woman she was in life. She was the strongest woman you may every come across as well as an Angel on Earth.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Teichart Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne and will be for immediate family members only.

Jimmie Lee Wills, 80, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Murrysville Health and Wellness Center, Murrysville. He was born March 13, 1942 in West Unity, OH, a son of the late Raymond and Eva Jane (Gorsuch) Wills. Prior to his retirement, Jimmie Lee was a school photographer with Lifetouch National School Studios for Western PA and Northern West Virginia. He was a member of Calvary Chapel, Greensburg and attended American High School in Frankfurt, Germany and graduated from West Unity High School in Ohio and later received his Bachelors of Arts Degree from Michigan State. Jimmie was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed hunting and was a Ham radio operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Ochoa. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Overfield) Wills; sons, Forest James (Maria) Wills, Joseph (Courtney) Brugnoli; daughters, Misti Brooke Wills, Tara Lee (Gerard) Slifkey; brother, David (Barbara) Wills; grandchildren, Evan Detwiler, Aslan, Giovanni, Parker, Oliver and Xavier Wills, Logan and Tyler Brugnoli, Gabrielle, Trinity, Genevieve Wills and Brooklyn Brugnoli. George F. Dirani, age 80, of Lower Burrell, passed away on June 23, 2022, at UPMC East. Born in Lebanon on February 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Fouad and Almasa Dirani. His family was very important to him and he was very proud of them. He was a loving and generous father and he could be very stubborn. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, and watching them grow, and woodworking. He also loved watching his grandchildren grow. He is in a better place and is reunited with his loving family members who preceded him. George is the husband of Juliette (Sassine) Dirani; father of Riad (Deborah) Dirani of Philadelphia, Aleen (husband, Justin Moser) Dirani of White Oak, and Rami (Helene) Dirani of Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren; brother of Mona, Michele Dirani, Milad Dirani, Georgette (Kahalim) Zhakem, and late Elias Dirani and late Al (late Donna) Dirani. It is with profound sadness we announce that Karen Elizabeth Jacky passed away in her Clairton, PA home on September 1st, 2022 at a youthful age of 67. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 1st, 1954 to late William and Audrey (Stokke) Jacky. Karen was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.  She later was married from 1975-1998 to Eric Knabenschuh. They resided in Elizabeth, PA where they would raise their only child Jon Knabenschuh. In addition to being a stay at home mom Karen also worked for her father’s insurance company from 1985-1991. She later moved to Clairton, PA and started her career as a senior service administrator for Quick Med Claims for the next 27 years. During that time Karen met her longtime loving companion Bill Baxter of 25 years.

Nancy (Kovac) Mollise, 78, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, surrounded by her beloved husband Sal, children and family. Nancy was born in McKeesport on September 22, 1943. She was the devoted, caring and ever-loving wife of her husband of 54 years, Salvatore Paul Mollise. Nancy and Sal would have been celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Nancy is survived by husband Sal, along with her three children, Maria (Robert Svedberg) Mollise of Atlanta, GA, Michele (Michael) Pirrone of Atlanta, GA and Salvatore Paul (Jennifer Bickerstaff) Mollise, II of Elizabeth Township; sister, Dorothy Kovac of McKeesport; sister-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Whiteacre of Washington; grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Svedberg; and step-grandchildren, Clay, Trinity, Madison and Beau Pirrone. Nancy was predeceased by parents, John and Anna (Mital) Kovac; sisters, Charlotte and Joan Kovac, and brother, John Kovac, all of McKeesport; and parents-in-law, Frank and Eleanor Mollise of West Mifflin. Nancy was a dedicated member of St. Michael’s Catholic Parish in Elizabeth Township for more than 50 years and truly enjoyed working the Lenten fish fry and crafting palm crosses for Palm Sunday and Easter services. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in McKeesport and was retired from Great American Federal and Three Rivers Bank, where she enjoyed helping and guiding her banking customers for several decades. She was also a member of Jednota and Elizabeth Township Seniors, and a breast cancer survivor participating in numerous Race for the Cure walks over the decades. Nancy’s true joy came from being with her close-knit family and her lifelong Scenery Drive neighbors and friends, and was known throughout the community for her incredible hospitality, delicious homemade meals, warm hugs, caring letters, Slovak pastries, and her and Sal’s manicured gardens.

Stella retired from the former Grandview Saloon of Mt. Washington, where she was the manager for over 20 years. She was a member of Annunciation of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church of White Oak. Stella was also a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and entertaining.

 Gary "Moe" J. Moran, 71, of West Miffln died at home on Sept. 3, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He is the son of the late Joseph "Kaufman" and Margaret (Gavlik) Moran.  He is survived by his  beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret (Agopoff) Moran; son Joe (Erin) Moran of Mt. Prospect, IL; daughter Kelly Moran; grandchildren Maeve, Brynn, Reilly, Aidan and Liam Moran; brother Dr. Gregory (Virginia) Moran and granddog Apple.  He was preceded in death by his dogs Pandora and Kendall.  Moe was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish - Holy Trinity Church; was retired from Allegheny County, was the owner/operator of Union Grill in Duquesne. and was a graduate of Duquesne High School.  He loved working outside and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  Funeral arrangements by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne.

Bonnie (Gephart) Swisher, age 77, of Forward Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at home. Born in McKeesport and raised in Elizabeth Twp., she was the daughter of the late James and Kathryn (Coleman) Gephart and was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Raymond Swisher. Bonnie enjoyed going to different casinos, visiting the beach and taking bus trips. Her strength, resilience, and deep and quiet love will always be remembered by her family. She is survived by a son, Brad (Lisa) Swisher of Derry; daughter, Kelly (William) Clausi of Rostraver Twp.; grandchildren, Lauren (Vince) DiSante, Seth and Laynie Swisher; sister, Holly (Nick) Luptak of Elizabeth Twp.; brother, James (Jane) Gephart of Elizabeth; companion, William Rodabaugh of Forward Twp.; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Victor M. Zilinskas, age 89, of North Huntingdon, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at his home. Born in Homestead on March 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Victor and Anne (DeVilla) Zilinskas Sr. He was a retired pattern maker at Fisher Body and a member of the Pattern Makers Union. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon, Pido’s Friday Night Bowling League, Pinheads Bowling League and the First Catholic Slovak Union. He was an avid golfer, loved to fix things, do puzzles and work on cars and other racing cars and loved to attend his grandchildren’s sports and school activities. Victor is the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Novotny) Zilinskas for 65 years; father and hero to Victor John (Rosalinda) Zilinskas of Palo Alto, CA, Susan Zilinskas of North Huntingdon and Melissa Ann (Mark Allen) Prutz of North Huntingdon; grandfather of Victor Q., Owen Marek, Braydon Nicholas and Mila Ann; brother of Mark (late Janice) Zilinskas of Monroeville and late John (late Jean) Zilinskas. She was a retired food service employee for East Allegheny School District and a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. She enjoyed bingo, jigsaw puzzles, playing Sudoku, and liked to read. She enjoyed the many friendships she made while living at Point Pleasant.

He was born October 30, 1950 in Homestead and raised in West Mifflin, the son of the late Joseph A. and Florence (Remas) Vislay. He was a proud Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving 6 years of active duty and 2 years reserve duty. He was a member of Praise Assembly of God Church, North Versailles, where he was an active prayer warrior. He was also a very active support person and mentor. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather and was so proud of and adored his family. He loved to read and study history and enjoyed the History and Smithsonian Channels. Joe retired from Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals, Cranberry Township and then worked for Avenna Healthcare.

Tyrone is the son of Joyce Gwendolyn Thompson and Louis Coward, Jr.  He was preceded in death by his loving brothers Kenneth Coward, Joseph (JoJo) Hill, Jr., Michael Coward, and his beloved grandparents Lucille (Nana) and Woodrow Cozart, Luealla & Louis Coward.

Tyrone was a graduate of Duquesne High School. He worked hard continually since graduation. He was currently employed for many years at Bettis Atomic Power Lab in West Mifflin.

Tyrone loved the Lord and attended Calvary United Methodist Church in McKeesport, PA.
