Sally R. West, 86, of Manassas, VA, formerly of Dormont, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Forbes Regional Hospital. She was born January 30, 1937 in Carrick, a daughter of the late Howard Merrill and Mary (Michaliszyn) Rowlands. Prior to her retirement, Sally was an operating room tech and enjoyed sewing, reading and playing cards at the senior center. She was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd West, and brother, Howard Merrill Rowlands Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Regina Curry (William), Sharen Saunders (Dale); sister-in-law, Mary Lou Rowlands; grandchildren, Teri Saunders, Tanner Curry and Riley Curry. James (Jimmy) Robert Boughner, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectantly from a pulmonary embolism on Monday, November 20, 2023. Jimmy was a loving husband and father, a humble and devoted man to family and friends. “Where the path of love and friendship cross, it leaves a mark forever.”
Jimmy was a 1977 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, a graduate of The Ohio State University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was an attorney, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Jimmy was a person of broad accomplishments and impeccable character in his personal, professional, and civic life. He worked for five companies; Ernst & Whinney, Arthur Andersen, The Beechwood Company, Schneider Downs, and The Nutting Company, Wheeling, WV. Jimmy always worked behind the scenes to make others more successful without the desire or need for recognition.
Jimmy served as a board member and President of the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Trustee of the E.R. Crawford Estate Trust, member of Youghiogheny Country Club, member of Wheeling Country Club, committee member and past President of West Penn Golf Association, member of the USGA Junior National Committee, board member and past Treasurer of Mon River Arts, Treasurer/Secretary/Director of Membership of the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh, and member, elder, and former Chairperson of the Corporation of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church. Through all these positions, Jimmy served the Lord he loved. He knew he was blessed, and he was a blessing to others. (Genesis 12:2)

Patricia Ann “Patty” Lister Sparico, 87 of West Homestead, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Tuesday November 21st, 2023 at her home. She was born in West Mifflin on August 6th, 1936 to the late Charles and Martha Matz Lister. Patricia was the loving wife of 60 years to the late Antonio Sparico. She is survived by her daughter Jannine Ackerman of West Homestead, son Anthony (Trina) Sparico of Upper St. Clair, grandchildren Megan (Alex Gennari) Sparico of West Homestead, Anthony (Amanda) Sparico of Pleasant Hills, Natalie Sparico of Upper St. Clair, Annalee Sparico of Upper St. Clair, Tracy Johnson of West Mifflin, great-grandchildren Adelina, Rex, Julian, Wyatt, Matteo, and the loving dog Hazy. In addition to Patricia’s parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Sparico, her daughter Kristin Sparico, her brother Thomas Lister, sisters Norma Cooper, JoAnn Weaver, and Constance Ondrik. She was a member of the Christian Servitors, and ladies auxiliary for Volunteer No. 3 Fire Co. of West Mifflin also including New Life Through Christ Church in West Homestead. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles as well as playing games on the computer however, her favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren and making memories. Patricia had a career as a police dispatcher for West Mifflin Police Dept. she also had worked as a tax collector. Patricia L. Atkins, 91, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born August 28, 1932, in Duquesne, and was the daughter of the late Jennie and James Hannegan. She was the wife of 56 years to the late Howard C. Atkins, who passed away, December 10, 2014. Patricia was very involved in the Girl Scouts of America and functioned as a Den Mother for many years. She worked 20 years for the Elizabeth Forward School District where she headed the cafeteria, supplying many generations of youths with delicious and nutritious meals. Patricia was a devoted Christian and member of the former Boston Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. Patricia was a hardworking and loving woman that will be missed by her family.

Dr. George Constantine Sotereanos, DDS, born September 12, 1930 and died November 18, 2023, was the third son of Greek immigrants Constantine and Marcella Sotereanos, originally from Vrontados, Isle of Chios. He leaves behind a rich legacy, including three children: Constantine Sotereanos, MD, Nicholas Sotereanos, MD, and Anastasia Sotereanos, BS, as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Born in McKeesport, PA, George's journey began at age seven, when he started working as a grocery boy, contributing to his family's livelihood. He excelled academically, graduating top of his class from McKeesport High School, where he was later honored in their Hall of Fame. George's relentless work ethic continued through his years at the University of Pittsburgh. While working full-time night shifts at the National Tube steel mill, he earned his BS in Chemistry in just three years, again finishing first in his class. His pursuit of excellence led him to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. Balancing full-time work at Koppers lab as a chemist, he graduated at the top of his class, followed by a residency in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at West Penn and Allegheny General Hospital.

John Lucarelli, of Wilmerding, peacefully passed on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the age of 82. John was the devoted husband of Diane (Lucas) Lucarelli.
Loving father of Angela Lucarelli-Kutz and Maureen Lucarelli, proud grandfather of Katie, Lindsey, and Johnny Kutz. He is also survived by his brother, Sonny Lucarelli, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Lewis and Mary (Welsh) Lucarelli, and siblings, Kitty Pabst, Peggy Lou Hall, and Buddy Lucarelli.
John was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and fixing things around the house. He was very laid back, reliable and knowledgeable.
His family was everything to him. They will miss him dearly.
