Joseph John Zajdel, age 89, of McKeesport, died November 4, 2021, at St. Anne Home.  Born December 28, 1931, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Antonio and Apolonia (Yerkey) Zajdel and husband of the late Annabelle Zajdel.  
Joe, or Jozius as the family called him, proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1977, earning the rank of Technical Sergeant.  He was a member of the PNA Lodge #352, the 11th Ward Club, the Croatian Club in McKeesport, and Mary, Mother of God Parish.  Joseph was an avid fisherman who spent summers at his fishing camp. He loved all sports, played on senior leagues, and always had a television tuned to a game. He traveled the world during his military career and in retirement.

Dennis Charles Cooper, 74, originally of Port Vue, passed away at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC, on October 27, 2021. He is survived by his mother, Normagee Cooper, of Port Vue; former wife and still best friend, Mary Ellen Cooper, of North Huntingdon; loving daughters, Tracey Maiolo (Vince), of Level Green, Melissa Cooper (Hitesh Soneji), of San Francisco, Carolyn Cooper, of Key West, and Dyanne Carpenter (Erik), of Stafford; grandchildren, Kirin and Kai Soneji and Sophia and Rose Carpenter, who were the absolute lights of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Cooper, and sister, Sharon “Sissy” Cooper.

Cecelia Ann "Dolly" Downes, age 87, of Olathe, KS, formerly of White Oak, died October 25, 2021, at Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center. Born October 4, 1934, in North Braddock, she was the daughter of the late Engelbert L. "Bert" and Cecelia J. (Visnansky) Onufer and the wife of the late John G. "Jack" Downes.

Dolly was a loving wife and mother that dedicated her life to caring for her family and providing support to others in the community. She was a Graduate of Divine Providence Academy Class of 1952 and attended the Earl Wheeler Modeling School from 1954 to 1955.

David Algeri, age 81, of Versailles, died October 23, 2021, at Transitions Health Care North Huntingdon.  Born June 29, 1940, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Pucci) Algeri and husband of Joan (Boullion) Algeri.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David (Debra) Algeri; three step-grandchildren, Lori, Gary, and Chris; a great-grandson, Bentley.  David was also preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Algeri.  
The services for David will be private.

Deborah L. Eagle, age 63, of McKeesport, died October 24, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born February 22, 1958, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Deemer, Dana "Dobie" Balog, and Patricia Balog and wife of Murrell Eagle.  
Debbie loved going to the beach, especially Ocean City, with the whole family.  After visiting Painting with a Twist, she found a new hobby in painting.  She soon purchased painting supplies and enjoyed hanging her artwork around the house.  Debbie looked forward to church and listening to K-Love around her home, but time spent with her grandchildren is what she cherished most.

Dolores J. "Dolly" Gall, age 75, of McKeesport, died October 20, 2021, at Kane Community Living Center. Born January 15, 1946, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Olive (Maines) Miller and the wife of the late Stephen Robert "Bink" Gall, Jr.
Dolly retired from Walmart Inc., where she worked in the customer service department with over 20 years of service. She was a former member of the Highland Grove United Methodist Church. Dolly enjoyed attending bingo, visiting the casino, playing cards with friends, and having lunch, ending with a trip to the flea market. Although, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Joseph S. Vrabel, age 74, of White Oak, died October 14, 2021, at Walden's View of North Huntingdon.  Born February 13, 1947, in Homestead, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Banyas) Vrabel and beloved husband of the late Helen (Stricko) Vrabel.  
Joseph graduated from Munhall High School in 1965. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a radio operator on the U.S.S. McCaffery. Joseph retired from U.S. Steel as an electrician with over 30 years of service. Joe was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with Whitaker V.F.C. #298 and became a lifetime member with Rainbow V.F.C. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting turkey and deer. Joe loved dancing to the oldies, running, and biking.
Joseph is survived by a son, David (Eliana) Vrabel; step-son, Tom (Kelley) Tomko; sisters, Diane Vrabel, Darlene (the late John) Turner, and Patricia (the late Andrew) Swabsky; niece and goddaughter, Kim Swabsky; daughter-in-law, Christine Vrabel.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph J. Vrabel; sisters, Nancy (Raymond) Vincevich and Eleanor (George) Balta; brother, Francis (Dorothy) Vrabel.

Tina M. Anderson, age 61, of McKeesport, died October 12, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born January 30, 1960, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Campbell) Neish and the wife of Jack L. Anderson, Jr.
She was a loving wife and mother, always there when needed. Her greatest joy and the light of her life was caring for her granddaughters. Tina retired from Forbes Hospital, where she was a secretary.
In addition to her husband, Tina is survived by her sons, Jason Anderson of Dravosburg, and Kris (Caitlin McKelvey) Anderson of Peters Township; granddaughters, Savia and Rylee; nieces and nephews; beloved pet dog, "Jake."

Born January 24, 1930, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Antoinette and Vincenzo DiBattista. He was employed by Tygart Industries and retired from McKeesport Housing Authority.  He was a member of the Boston Vets. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, woodworking, and going out socializing and dancing with his dear companion of 25 years, Helen Gray.  He loved spending time with his family. His proudest accomplishment was his four children and all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their families.

Pat retired from McKeesport Hospital, where she worked as a switchboard operator. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, and attended Corpus Christi Church. Pat was also a member of the North Versailles Senior Place. She enjoyed cooking and attending bingo.

Vincent A. Maizer, Jr., age 77, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died October 7. 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born October 28, 1943, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Vincent A. Sr. and Mary Louise (Miller) Mazier and the husband of Frances (Stibrik) Maizer.
Vince retired from US Steel, National Tube Works, where he was a pipe inspector. Afterward, he worked for J.C. Penney Co., in the maintenance department and, Giant Eagle, in the produce department. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Vince was also a member of the PNA #352 and 11th Ward Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Raymond "Slats" E. Weigand, Jr

Raymond "Slats" E. Weigand, Jr., age 100, of Liberty Borough, died October 4, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born August 25, 1921, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Raymond E. Weigand, Sr. and Anne (Weller) Weigand and husband of the late Christine Weigand.

Raymond was a World War II Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Alabama, working his way through the ranks to gunner's mate second class and always looked forward to reunions with Veterans from his ship.  He was awarded the Ushakov Medal from the Russian Government due to having served during Allied missions in the Arctic Circle in the early 1940s.  Raymond worked as a Dairyman with Menzie Dairy, then Turner Dairy Farm.  He was the Boy Scout Troop 53 leader for 35 years and enjoyed all scout activities and traveling with the Scouts to Europe.  Ray was a member of Teamsters Local 205.  He loved time spent with his grandchildren and smoking cigars.

Kuk, age 94, of Port Vue, died September 29, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born May 29, 1927, in Glassport, she was the daughter of the late Zygmunt and Leokadya (Gniazdowski) Ruszkoski and wife of the late Edward J. Kuk. Anna was a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, and the Polish National Alliance 750 in Glassport.  She loved jigsaw puzzles and sewing.  When her five daughters were younger, she would sew them dresses.  She was well known for the delicious cookies she baked for different family functions.

Shirley L. Johnston, age 95, of Monroeville, died September 29, 2021, at home.  Born October 29, 1925, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Niskosky) Sophia and wife of the late Edward E. Johnston.  
Shirley began her career at Westinghouse and then would retire from the McKeesport School District in the Administration Office.  When she was younger, she played the piano, organ and was a soloist at Christian Life Church in Trafford.  Shirley adored her grandchildren and loved to play Uno and Scrabble with them.
