Ruth Ann Werner, age 83, of Forward Twp., passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at home. She was a member of the Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth and the Elizabeth Senior Citizens. She was a former member of the Forward Township Senior Citizens, Axelton Senior Citizens, Elizabeth Heritage Senior Citizens and the Blaine Hill Senior Citizens. She mostly enjoyed her weekly bingo trips with friends and she loved to play cards with her family.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Jefferson Hills. Born November 15, 1928 in Canton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Lester H. and Nora (Vanderhoff) Berrier and wife of the late Richard T. Black. She is survived by children, Janice (Sam) Shamber of Henderson, NV, Katheleen (Paul) Sneed of Finleyville, Thomas (Joanne) Black of Townville, Patricia (Kevin) Grace of Cochranton, and Colleen (Thomas) Fink of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care in Whitehall and Heartland Hospice for their loving care in the past year. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Donald Thompson officiating. He had a passion for gardening and decorating his house all year long, especially at Christmas where he raised money for Children's Hospital.
