Hewas born on July 4, 1937 in Harrisburg, PA to Francis and John Fetterman Senior. John graduated from the North American College in Rome and was ordained in December 19, 1962. He came to Pittsburgh in 1972 and taught classics at the University of Pittsburgh. John was interim pastor at Christ Episcopal Church in the North Hills. John was Associate Clergy at Calvary Church in Shadyside and Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Madison, Wisconsin.
