William H. Young, age 85 of North Huntingdon died April 20, 2019 at his home. He was born September 24, 1933 in Williamsport, Pa, a son of the late William Young and Margaret Gilette. William was self employed in the dry wall industry, an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and golfing.  He is survived by his beloved wife Darlene Ober Young, two sons Michael, Bryan Young (Michelle), one daughter, Beverly Gold (Mark), grandchildren, Colleen Ellig (Joshua), David Gold (Alyson), Katie (Joshua) Fournier, Khegan Young, Calahan Young, Saige Young,Delaney and Kendal Young. 6 great grandchildren, brother Paul Wright, sister, Sandy Hopfensberger. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Tues 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Robert T. "Bud" Miller

Robert "Bud" T. Miller, 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at Hempfield Manor.  He was born October 31, 1924 in Turtle Creek, a son of the late Edgar and Mary (Fenton) Miller.  Prior to his retirement, Bud was a tool and die maker for Firth Sterling Steel and was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII.  He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, North Huntingdon, Valley Lodge Masons 613, Turtle Creek, and former member of the American Legion.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine "Kay" Miller; brothers, Edgar, Harry, Willard and Paul Miller; sisters, Audrey Palmquist, Elsie Brown, Irene Tracey and Mary Brown.  He is survived by his son, Robert B. Miller and his wife, Carol; daughter, Sharen Silvis and her husband, Jack; grandchildren, Darryl (Corie) Silvis, Laurie (Sam) Peddicord, Amy (David) Denny; great-grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Shaffer, LeAnne (Steve) Dorough, Jack, Brad; great-great-grandchildren, Arielle, Abby, Tyler, Leona, Sage and Jack. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles, PA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, North Huntingdon or Excela Hospice.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.

Born January 7, 1919, in West Wilmerding, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Slivick) Garbowski and the wife of the late Raymond Sowa. Lottie dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church. She enjoyed attending bingo and lottery scratch off tickets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Pauline (Logo) Kendall, age 90 of the Wilson section of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in HCR ManorCare Whitehall.  Born August 27, 1928 in Coal Valley in Jefferson Hills, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Tatos) Logo.  A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton, Pauline worked as a waitress at the Golden Gate Restaurant and ran the former Christina's Spaghetti House in Clairton.  She joins her husband, the late Abraham Kendall, and her siblings Mary Evanko, Ann Ulackovick, Julie Trasp, and Basil and John Logo.

Ronald J. “Lukie” Lucas, Sr., age 76, of North Huntingdon, died April 17, 2019. He was born in McKeesport on August 3, 1942 to the late John P. and Rose Palygi Lucas. Ronald was employed by the borough of West Mifflin for almost 36 1/2 years then worked for Norwin School District as a security guard during his retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Lucas; son, Ronald (Jennifer) Lucas, Jr. of Glassport; granddaughter, Karlye Lucas; step-grandchildren, Rebecca Dryer and Nathaniel James Boykin; sisters-in-law, Janice (William) Vasy of N. Huntingdon, Kathy (the late Michael) Vrabel of Plum Borough; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Lucas.

Family and friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 4 pm until 8 pm, where service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 9:30 am with Pastor Cindy Lindow officiating.  Burial will follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery.

John R. Park, 63, of Park's Motel in North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Greensburg. He was born August 15, 1955 in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Russell Oliver and Estella (Terrazas) Park. John was Autistic and food was everything to him. His favorite dishes were leg of lamb, spanish rice, lychee and sushi. He loved doing artwork when he was younger with his therapist Linda Dillard from the Washington County Health Center. John was the most loving brother and uncle, gentle with a his touch and had a compassionate soul. He is survived by his brothers, Kevin (Tracy) Park and their children, Briana and Dylan Park, Dennis Kip (Lisa) Park and their son Caleb Park; sisters, Melanie Driggers, Denise KMFG Kristopaitis; and nieces and nephews, Schyler HMFM and Kyler NRSAT Kristopaitis, who he enjoyed spending memorable times together and will be sadly missed.  A gathering will take place on Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. followed by a memorial service at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. Lois Drexler (89) of North Huntingdon passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14 at Canterbury Place hospice in Lawrenceville. Lois was born in Pittsburgh on June 27, 1929 to John and Naomi (Miller) Bressler.

Lois grew up on Mt. Washington, always living close to her maternal grandmother, Lillian (Dallmeyer) Miller on Albert Street. She loved spending time with her Aunt Anna and playing stoop ball. After her dear brother “Bill” was killed in action during WWII, Lois and her parents moved to Brookline. She attended South Hills High School and after graduation worked as a secretary at a bank in downtown Pittsburgh until her 1952 marriage to Thomas Drexler of Erie. After a brief time in Erie, Lois and Tom moved back to Brookline where they raised their three children until moving to North Huntingdon in 1975.

Sarah Lane, age 92, of Greensburg, died April 15, 2019.  She was born in Carfin, Scotland on May 14, 1926 and is the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Rennie Kelly. She was the wife of the late Frank Drnevich and the late William Lane.  She worked for many years in the cafeteria for McKeesport School District and prior to that, during WWII, she worked at the Christy Park Works in McKeesport.  She was a very dedicated mother who loved vacationing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts.

She is survived by her children, Frank (Angela) Drnevich of McKeesport; Rebecca (Joseph) Larson of White Oak; Sheila Piechowicz of Irwin; Thomas (Melissa) Drnevich of North Huntingdon; Timothy (Diane) Drnevich of North Huntingdon; James (Nadine) Lane of Greensburg; Shawn (the late Donald) Lane of Oakdale; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters.

The family would like to thank the clergy, sisters, and staff at St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 2 pm until 8 pm. Sophie Wojton, age 98, of Tampa, Florida, passed peacefully on Sunday April 14 . She was born in East McKeesport, to the late John and Anna Ekiert. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Matthew S Wojton. She was the ultimate housewife, raising their six children and at the same time, supporting Matthew in his many community endeavors. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, Sister, aunt, Bubba and friend. She and Matthew spent their married life in Wilmerding, and in 2010 she moved to Zephyrhills, Florida where she divided her time amongst her three daughters. She is survived by her children Carol (Richard) Dziki of Zephyrhills, Florida, Blair Wojton of Glassport, Phyllis (Bill) Beaver of Tampa Florida, Fran (Mike) Hoover of Tampa, Florida, Sta Wojton of Wilmerding, Matt Wojton of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
