Theodore A. Smith, 91 of North Huntingdon died November 7, 2019 at Walden's View. He was born January 2, 1928 in Mckeesport, a son of the late John and Louise Almsmith Smith. Theodore was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a machinist  for PDQ Tool and  Die and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary Caulfield Smith, two brothers, Millard and William, one sister, Dorothy Wilson.He is survived by a son, Theodore A. Smith(Patricia), daughter, Sharon L. Polovina Thomas) grandchildren, Brandon (Michelle) Polovina, Jennifer (Robert) Mallory, Kellynn (Matthew) Krinock, Nathaniel and Trevor Smith;  great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jordyn and Noah.  Friends will be received from 3- 7 p.m. on  Sunday  at the James W. Mary Jane Serra, age 84 of North Huntingdon and Greensburg died November 6, 2019 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. She was born July 22, 1935 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Jesse and Vanda Falkosky Deemer. Mary Jane enjoyed crafts, painting, arts, cruises and travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Serra. She is survived by four daughters Adale Flores (Mike), Jessica Nigra (Paul), Natalie Smith, Charise Hess (Rob), one sister Donna Grifana (Phillip), 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, Pa Saturday 1-4 p.m. followed by a service at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Clara B. Palumbo, 86 of Liberty Boro, died Nov. 7, 2019.  She is the daughter of the late William and Blanche Borkowski and beloved wife of the late John Palumbo. 

She is survived by her sister Genevieve Borkowksi; brother Edward Borkowski and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by brothers Benjamin, John and Joseph Borkowski and sisters Cecilia Borkowski, Laura Mihalovich and Gertrude Wojton. 

Clara was a retired secretary for US Steel National Tube and was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish.

Albert was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirate fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, self employed as a Cryogenics Engineer and a graduate of Norwin Class of 1970. He is survived by his wife Beth Andolina Papula, two sons , Andrew (Jenna), Keith (Deanna) and one daughter Taylor Papula, brother, Gene (Christa) Papula, sister Marianne Papula, 4 grandchildren, Kane, Kora, Sylas and Jackson.

Born in Duquesne, May 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the Late Joseph and Mary (Vesonder) Kozak. Mrs. Kozak was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin. Beloved wife of the Late Albert Kozak, she is survived by her loving children, Barry (Kathy) Kozak and Donna (Chet) Palesko; six grandchildren, Alan Palesko (Amy Nicks), Amy Lujan (Marcos), Lauren Ray (Dustin), Nicholas Kozak (Alexandra), Daniel Kozak  and David Kozak; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Talia, Justine, Jackson and Max. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Tarczy and Clara Bodnar.

Gerry C. Cope, age 75 of Clairton, took his last breath at 10:24 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his home.  He was an electronic technician for U.S Steel, Clairton Works for 39 years. Gerry was also a Veteran serving during the Vietnam War, a former teacher of hairdressing and a hairdresser at John Cesko's in McKeesport, a former DJ at Charley J's in North Versailles for 16 years, sang in the doo-wop group The BelAirs, was a Mason in Chapter #162, and a member of the Knights Templar.  Born October 8, 1944 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Charles H., Jr. and Jenny (Gladkowski) Cope.  Gerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Alice (Lloyd) Cope; daughter Laurie (James Bayto) Stonick of Clairton; son Gerry C. (Barbara Payo) Cope, Jr. of Clairton; grandchildren Gerry C., III, Christopher, Dylan, Jayden, Jackson, and Aria Cope, and Thomas and Tyler Deliman; brothers Jay (Sharon) Cope of North Carolina and Wayne (Pam) Kucich of White Oak; and also nieces and nephews.

Stanford Alan Lefkowitz, age 88 of White Oak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born In McKeesport on June 23, 1931 and is the son of the late Carl and Rose Lichenstein Lefkowitz. Stan was the beloved owner of Penn Taft Pharmacy which has cared for generations of West Mifflin residents for the last 70 years. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Accounting and Duquesne University in Pharmacy, Mr. Lefkowitz also served the nation as a Navy Corpsman for the US Marines.  He was the Alumni of the decade for Duquesne University, President of the Allegheny County Pharmaceutical Association, Proctor for Interns for Pharmacy School for hundreds of pharmacy students, and sponsored scores of little league baseball teams.  Stan was very involved in the community.  Stan Lefkowitz was kind and compassionate - loved by everyone who knew him and always left folks feeling encouraged and better about themselves.

Leonard “Leo” Joseph Puma, age 94, of McKeesport and West Palm Beach, Florida, died Sunday, November 3, 2019.  He was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 18, 1925 and is the son of the late Samuel and Rose Marino Puma.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and received honors for his service. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in McKeesport.  He was a retired member of Iron Workers Local #3 for 71 years and was elected and served as President for 12 years.  He then was the Business Manager for the Pittsburgh Building Trades for the following 12 years.  He was an accomplished Union Rights activist and devoted much of his life to the cause. After retirement, he was a PA State Constable.  He was a member of the former McKeesport Elks Club, the Eleventh Ward Club, the Italian Heritage Society, the Renzie Seniors and the White Oak American Legion.
