John Holuka, 95, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Locust Grove Personal Care, West Mifflin. Born April 23, 1920, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Simon) Holuka. A retired employee of U S Steel Edgar Thompson Works. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, VFW Post 188 and a proud WWII veteran of the 8th Army Air Corps.

Prior to his retirement, Edward was a masonry bricklayer for US Steel and was a Corporal in the US Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, White Oak Rod and Gun Club, life member of the NRA and American Legion Post 0344 for 46 years. Edward was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and yard work and was a Pittsburgh Sports Teams Fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Marie Czarnecki Klotz; sons, Michael and his wife, Sheila, Gary, Edward Jr. and his wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Anna, E.J. III, and Zachary Klotz. She was past chairman of Reseda Jr. Women's Club, Reseda, CA, past chairman of North Irwin Jr. Women's Club, Mother Advisor of the Order of the Rainbow Girls and Den Mother for BSA. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William H. Miller; sons, Kevin Miller, Rev's. Kenneth Miller and his wife, Denise; daughter, Nadine Miller-Haelle and her husband, Frank; brother, Thomas Spahr and his wife, Donna; sister, Bonnie Koury; four grandchildren, Craig (Claudia) Miller, Kyle (Anna) Haelle, Justin Miller, Jenae Haelle; five great-grandchildren, Kristian, Alejandra, Sierra, Halley and William.
