Michael R. "Mickey" Holliday, age 69, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at home. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired carpenter for Local 230. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and was always woodworking on projects at home. Born July 5, 1953 in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Kenneth W. and Elsie (Sharpnack) Holliday. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Stephen) Ziacan of Elizabeth; son, Joshua (Tiffaney Chapman) Holliday of Elizabeth; former wife, Joann Holliday of Arizona; grandchildren, Mason, Austin, Sway and Joss; siblings, Gayle Bleil of Elizabeth, Cindy (Tony) Theodori of Uniontown, Thomas Holliday of New York, David Holliday of Elizabeth Twp. and Rick (Norma) Holliday of Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Debbie Holliday; also, nieces and nephews. William Thomas Bittle, 86, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born December 23, 1935 in Holland, VA., and was the son of the late Clarence Lee and Sallie Mae (Newsome) Bittle. He was the husband of the late Loretta (Lewis) Bittle who passed away February 20, 2017. They were married December 31, 1966. He was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish St. Michael Church, VFW Post 7632 Blaine Hill, Pleasant Hills American Legion and was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. William served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. For his service he received the Order of the Purple Heart twice, the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge. William worked many years in office machine sales, and the service business.

Russell A. DeMaio, age 72 of Elizabeth and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at home. Born June 14, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Albert S. and Vilma (Verlich) DeMaio. A retired bricklayer for both US Steel and Local Union #9 of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen. In his spare time, he loved doo-wop music, playing guitar, old TV westerns like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Big Valley, and Rifleman, but, most of all, he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Russell is survived by his wife Clara (Oates) DeMaio; his children Russell A. DeMaio, Jr. of Irwin, Carrie R. (Justin) Johnson of Washington, PA, Paula J. (Robert) McClinton of Port Vue, and Joe A. (Kelly) DeMaio of Jefferson Hills; his grandchildren Sarah, Breanne, Danielle, Dana, Marissa, MaLinda, Nicholas, Olivia, and Talia; his great-grandchildren Aubry, Talan, Amelia, Rose, and Lily; his brothers Gary DeMaio of Bethel Park and Ronald "Stumpy" (Jeroma) DeMaio of Rostraver Twp.; and also nieces and nephews. John Karlovski, 89 of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born December 24, 1932 in Duquesne, and was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Grulja) Karlovski. He married the late Shirley (Pomaibo) Karlovski on September 17, 1955 and they were married for 56 years before her passing in December 2011. Now, a Veteran for the US Army, John served during the Korean War, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. John worked for US Steel as a journeyman and brick layer for many years, and after retirement, he began farming. He raised many ducks, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, and even a peacock. John was a member of St. Dennis church in Versailles years ago, and was also a member of the Elizabeth Township Gun Club and the NRA.

Joseph Nagy, age 82, of White Oak, died on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born in Glassport on April 6, 1940 and is the son of the late Joseph and Anna Skalski Nagy and the husband of the late I. Jean Shearer Nagy, who died on March 5, 1993. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA); McKeesport Sportsman’s Association; and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was employed and retired as a police officer for White Oak Borough. He also was a self-defense and firearms instructor for the McKeesport Sportsman’s Association and the White Oak Police Department and was a White Oak City Councilman for six years.

Russ retired from Laidlaw Transit, where he was a mechanic and driver. Before that, he worked at Westinghouse Electrical Corp. and Lockhart, where he was a machinist and crane operator at both places until they each went out of business. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 205 and 601 Electrical Workers Union. Russ was a member of the Faith Bible Baptist Church of Wilkins Twp. He was a lifelong member of the Rainbow Volunteer Fire Co. of White Oak. Russ took great pride in being able to help provide safety and peace of mind to his community. He enjoyed camping, cars, and, most of all, being a mechanic.

Beverly Lee Yosko, 70, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at her home. She was born June 26, 1952 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Robert and Norma Jean Crawford. Prior to her retirement, Beverly was a secretary for Lico Chemical Co. and was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, McKeesport. She was a graduate of Norwin Sr. High School and enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, photography, taking annual trips to Topsail Beach, NC and her canine companion, Joey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Crawford and sister, Mary Jane Patterson. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Kenneth E. Yosko; son, Kenneth Yosko and his wife, Hayley; daughter, Jennifer Stafford; and grandson, Ryder. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Darnell K. Martin, 55, of McKeesport, was born September 9, 1967, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son of his late father, Charles Martin, stepfather, Frank Mikell, and Mary (Larkins) Mikell. Darnell departed this life on September 16, 2022, at Forbes in Monroeville, PA.
He was a graduate of the class of 1986 from, McKeesport High School. Darnell lived in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Darnell was a nice guy with a big heart, would give anybody anything, always doing for others. Darnell enjoyed cooking, cookouts, and going out to eat, he hated eating alone. He always wanted someone to try his food or eat with him. He enjoyed traveling.
Darnell loved being around his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed shopping, he was the “fly guy”! He enjoyed watching westerns. Darnell's occupation was a full-time provider to his children and family. Darnell was a member of Calvary First United Methodist Church in McKeesport. When he was younger, he sang in the church choir.

Charles William "Bill" Albrighton, age 97 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Friday, September 23, 2022. Born August 11, 1925 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Emma (Marsh) Albrighton. The retired proprietor of Bill's Barbershop on Versailles Avenue in McKeesport, Bill was a member of Port Vue United Methodist Church, a US Navy Veteran of World War II sering in the Pacific Theater as a Seaman 1st. Class, and an avid golfer and bicyclist. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Brunory) Albrighton, who passed away on April 24, 2012, and his six siblings: Betty Warren, Joan Scheetz, Sylvia Nestler, and Dorothy, Ed, and Jack Albrighton. Russell A. Paterra, age 75 of McKeesport and formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Born July 15, 1947 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Augustine and Dorothy (Wilson) Paterra. A graduate of the University of Dayton, Russell was a self-employed consultant and executive coach and a golf fanatic, even volunteering as a marshal at the US Opens at both Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines. Most importantly though, he was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who will be immensely missed by his family and friends.
