Joseph Rymarowicz, Jr., 72 of Glassport, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born February 14, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Joseph J. and Mary Jane (Yandrlic) Rymarowicz. Joe served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a part of the 1098th Transportation Company. Afterwards, he worked for Mercury Printing Company as a Printer. He attended First Evangelical Free Church for the past 40 years. Over those 40 years, he was a Cook for their Teen Ministries retreats, Men's retreats, and for any of the special breakfasts that the church hosted. After retirement, Joe became a part time delivery driver for Breitinger's Flower Shop and would help the church with any maintenance work that was needed.

Peter A. Ivaska Sr., age 58, of West Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in McKeesport on March 20, 1963, he was the son of the late Joseph and late Jean Marie (Brenner) Ivaska. He was a retired machine operator. He was Presbyterian by faith and he enjoyed Nascar, fishing, being outdoors and all sports. He was a member of the Army National Guard for 13 years. Peter is the beloved husband for 25 years to Lori (Pesta) Ivaska; father of Peter A. (Lisa) Ivaska Jr. of Conway, SC, Joseph (Roxanne) Ivaska of Dravosburg, and Anthony Ivaska, at home; 6 Grandchildren; brother of Paul Ivaska of Knoxville, TN, Lynn (Tom) Kostelnik of West Mifflin, Cindy Ivaska of McKeesport, and Geraldine Ivaska of West Mifflin; son-in-law of Michael and Sandy Pesta of Pleasant Hills. Shawn Eric Teamann, 55, of North Huntingdon, was greeted in heaven by his parents Lois and Joseph Teamann on January 20, 2022. He was born February 4, 1966 in Portsmouth, VA. Those that knew Shawn knew him as one of the kindest, most patient and giving people they had met.  He was a faithful man who loved our Lord, his family, his church, and his community. As a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Shawn served as Eucharistic Minister until his illness. He was a fan of The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins, loved taking his dog Piper for long walks, and enjoyed family vacations to Sandbridge. Shawn had a successful career as a retail manager, most recently with DSW Shoes. In October of 2020, Shawn was diagnosed with T-Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia (T-PLL), an incredibly rare and aggressive form of cancer. He had a stem cell transplant on October 28, 2021 with his sister being his donor. Shawn fought hard but his body just couldn’t beat the battle. He leaves behind his wife Cheryl (Twigger), sister Deborah Teamann, sons Stephen (Christina) and Nathan Torok, grandchildren Abbey, Lily and Zack, mother-in-law Pat Twigger, brother-in-law George Twigger, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Shawn’s family wishes to thank Dr. Jing-Zhou Hou and his staff, Hillman Cancer Center 4th floor, and Shadyside Hospital 6th floor West for their compassionate care of Shawn. Friends will be received from 1-7 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, N. Huntingdon. Mary Smiley, 66, of McKeesport, was born March 10, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama She was the beloved daughter to Ethel Smiley. She was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and later moved to McKeesport where she lived for the last 22 years. Mary departed this life on January 2, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport. She was preceded in death by her mother. She leaves behind so many families and friends that she truly loved. Anyone that ever met her loved her from the start. You were never just a friend; you would always be family. Mary is survived by her loving two daughters, Tina Smiley and LaDonna Smiley; three sons, Charles Smiley, Marcus Smiley, William Smiley; all of McKeesport PA., Life-long Partner, Billy Knight; 31 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Prior to his retirement, Arthur was a welder for Westinghouse, a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII and was a member of Norwin Alliance Church. B. Lorayne Reynolds, 92, of N. Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at UPMC East. She was born March 15, 1929 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Deano and Viola (Elwood) Campoli. Lorayne was a bartender at the Eagles in Irwin and enjoyed camping, playing Bingo and visiting casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred “Bob” Reynolds; and sisters, Marian Thompson and Marie Etta Schaefer. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Weixel; grandchildren, Jason Weixel, Kristi (Matt) Helinski; great-grandchildren, Sophia Weixel and Thomas Isherwood. Jerome J. "Jerry" Olack, age 83, of Liberty Borough, died January 19, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.  Born July 9, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Cverna) Olack and husband of the late Carol (Thompson) Olack.  Jerry was a member of the former Blue Rock Club, Jack Ham Dobre Shunka Fan Club, and the Port Vue Athletic Association.  He was active in many local bowling leagues and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.  He is survived by his significant other for over 30 years Sally Williams; children, Cindy Olack, Shelley (Jim) Supinsky, Joe (Marianne) Olack, Tim "Stitch" (Barb) Olack, and Jerome "J.J." Olack, Jr., all of Port Vue; grandchildren, Joseph Olack, Bill Stearns, Sami Olack, Mandi Olack, D.J. Mary Ann Palmer, 60, of North Huntingdon, formerly of North Versailles, died Wednesday January 5, 2022 at home. She was born June 2, 1961 in McKeesport the daughter of the late Thomas J. Sr. and Mary J. (Giovanicci) Palmer. She was a 42 year employee of Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, West Mifflin. She was a member of the Norwin Community Group and a supporter of White Oak Animal Safe Haven. She loved dogs and enjoyed gardening and camping. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Thomas J. Palmer Jr. She is survived by her niece and nephews Deborah Patane of Tampa, FL, Thomas J Palmer of West Jefferson, NC, and David J. Palmer of Irwin, also great nieces and nephews, a great great nephew, cousins, and many friends.

Dennis Brown Scherff, 91, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday January 23, 2022. He was born April 5, 1930 in North Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Florian E. and Anna M. (Daily) Scherff. Dennis graduated from North Huntingdon High School, Class of 1948 and served as a Sergeant in the Army from 1948 to 1953. Upon returning from the military he worked at Westinghouse Airbrake Company in Wilmerding as a systems analyst from 1953 until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and time spent at camp in Potter County. He loved to garden and taking care of the family orchards and strawberry field. As a child he loved to hunt pheasant and once even shot an albino pheasant. He enjoyed all sports and played softball as a child. You could always find him watching Pittsburgh sports especially his favorite team the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Becky focusing on raising her family and had a passion for following her sons involvements in the bands at Norwin and Pitt, then worked a number of places including being a clerk at the Holiday Inn Express in North Huntingdon. She is preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Marie Swenson. She is survived by her husband of over 24 years Robert J. Swenson; sons Robert S. Titus of Uniontown, Robert (Fiancé Jaclyn) Swenson of Irwin, Nicholas Swenson of Irwin and Tyler Swenson of Irwin; brothers William Gerardi of Apollo and Christopher Gerardi of Apollo; and her dog Max.

He liked to play the slots in Atlantic City and liked all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers. He is the husband of Lan Thi Ngo of Duquesne; father of Kim Lee Ngo of Duquesne and Dan Minh Ngo of Irwin; and has 3 brothers and 2 sisters in Vietnam. There will be no visitation.
