Olive (Faulds) Dishong, age 81, of West Mifflin, died November 30, 2016 at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born October 9, 1935 in Homestead, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Florence (Link) Faulds and wife of the late Donald Dishong, Sr. Olive worked as a cashier for Hills and then most recently at Kennywood. She loved concerts and music, especially gospel. She enjoyed to play cards, sometimes alone and also with her family.

Robert Thornton Swauger, Sr. age 94, of McKeesport, died Nov. 29, 2016, at his home. Born Oct. 15, 1922, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Marshall and Sadie Mae (Thornton) Swauger and the husband of the late Vera May (Wilson) Swauger.
Robert was a W.W. II veteran and fought in the Battle of Anzio. He was awarded the Purple Heart. After his service, Robert returned home and went to work for the McKeesport Water Authority. Upon retirement, he took up a new job description, that of family guardian, and he took it quite seriously.

Derek James Hill, of McKeesport, was born Oct. 29,1986, and passed, Nov. 27, 2016. He was 30 years old. Derek was the son of Janice (Halaszynski) Rojas and stepson of Daniel Rojas.
Derek enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family. Derek was a humble person who cared deeply about helping others. He often spoke at NA meetings in an effort to save people from the pain he knew too well from his own life experiences.

Mark A. Fazek, known as "Bear" to his family and close inner circle of friends, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1957, to the late Ruth M. (Bates) and Marine Corps Cpl. Albert M. Fazek. He grew up in White Oak and then resided in McKeesport. He is survived by son, Justin J. Fazek; and daughter, Jessica (Army Sgt. Paul) Kustra; grandchildren, Justin, Dominic, Haylee and Jordan (whom he lovingly referred to as "Bubbalou"; sister, Mary Elizabeth Fazek (Matthew) Shaffer; and nephew, Joshua.

Margaret E. Costa, age 78, of Port Vue, died November 25, 2016, at the Riverside Care center. Born September 6, 1938, in Trafford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Butcher) Bartakovich and the wife of the late Carmen Costa, Sr.
Margaret was retired from Macy’s Department Store, where she was a sales associate and she also worked as a nanny for many years. Her greatest love was caring for her family and all the children in her life. She was a member of the St. Mark Parish, Port Vue Woman’s club and the Port Vue Seniors. She enjoyed trips to the beach with her family and was best known for preparing magnificent family meals.

Todd Thomas Cook, age 41, passed away sadly on Saturday, November 19th, 2016, in McKeesport. Born July 21, 1975, in McKeesport, he was the beloved son of John A. and Charmaine (Arvin) Cook.
Todd attended McKeesport High School and worked in interior construction for Top Notch Installations. He was a perfectionist on any job he tackled. There wasn’t anything Todd couldn’t build or fix. He liked to deer hunt, fish and would lend a hand to anyone who needed him.

Frances Ruth Garrison, age 90, of Glassport, died November 15, 2016 at home. Born January 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Beacher and Vallie (Knox) Younkin and the wife of the late James A. Garrison.
Frances was a practicing Jehovah Witness and a homemaker. Frances was most famous for her spaghetti sauce and chicken noodle soup.
She is survived by son, William J. (Joanne) Garrison of Harrison City; daughter, Dorothy Nehila of Glassport; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; uncle, Merle Knox of Berlin, PA; nieces and nephews.

Dorothy had retired as a sales clerk from Cooper’s Animal Supply. She attended the Prayer Time Cathedral in White Oak. Dorothy loved going to the casino, playing the lottery, shopping and dinners out.

Kyle Petty, age 21, of McKeesport, died Nov. 8th, 2106, at UPMC Mercy. Born Aug. 3, 1995, in McKeesport, he was the son of Shawn and Karri (Mask) Petty.
Kyle was a good son and a good friend. Everyone thought of him as their little brother. His daughter, Khyla, was his world.
In addition to his parents and daughter, survivors include his love and Khyla’s mother, Samantha Picone; siblings, Cori, Dashia, Raelynn, Shawn Jr., Daniel, Diaz, Shane, Tamara and Mariah; aunt, Krista Pettis and uncle, Robert Petty; cousins. Kyle was preceded in death by sister, Shawntae.

Rodger C. Hall, age 83, of White Oak, died November 4, 2016, at his residence. Born September 4, 1933, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Friend Arthur and Ada (Toms) Hall and the husband of Anna (Salvi) Hall, for over 61 years.
Rodger retired from US Steel Homestead Works, where he was a millwright. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, where he was an usher and a member of The Holy Name Society. He was a US Marine Corps. veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed caring for his home. Rodger especially enjoyed trips with his wife to Myrtle Beach, SC and Seaside, NJ.

Born November 30, 1923, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Costantino and Giovanini (Masceri) Mercurio and the husband of Mildred (Keresman) Mercurio, for over 60 years. Patrick worked at Cox’s Department Store, where he was a buyer in the men’s clothing department for over 25 years and later retired from Macy’s, as a salesman. He was US Army veteran, serving during WWII.
