Mary E. Brooks, age 94, of McKeesport, died August 13, 2021, at Riverside Care Center. Born March 23, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ella (Cox) Harper and the wife of the late James F. Brooks, Sr.
Mary retired in 1991 from Louise Child Care as a daycare teacher. She attended the Macedonia Church in Duquesne, where she sang in the choir and helped with the usher board. Mary was a member of the tenant council at Isbir Manor and the Le Femme's Club.
Mary is survived by her sons, Eric Brooks of McKeesport and Ronald Brooks of Michigan; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Paul T. Kampert, age 76, of Bridgeville, died August 10, 2021, at home. Born January 25, 1945, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Jaskulski) Kampert and the beloved partner of Bonnie DiGuillo for 31 years.
Paul had worked at the G.C. Murphy Warehouse early in life, where he met his late wife, Rosemarie. He retired from the U.S. Steel Duquesne Works and worked for the sisters of St. Francis.
He loved watching cowboy and western movies and enjoyed Steeler and Pirate games.

Goldie K. Stoupis, age 84, of White Oak, died August 10, 2021, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born October 28, 1936, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Ljuba (Yanzetich) Klisanin. Goldie was born and raised in McKeesport, living most of her adult life in White Oak, PA. She was a majorette while attending McKeesport High School, and later in life enjoyed crafting, reading romance and mystery novels, playing bingo and spending warm summer days at White Oak Heritage Hill Swimming Pool. She also loved traveling to California to visit with her brother, choosing at one point to relocate to Seal Beach for several years, where she enjoyed her time and developed lifelong friendships that were very special to her. Most of all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

]William K. "Willie" Yeager, age 48, of West Mifflin, formerly of McKeesport, died August 10, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born May 2, 1973, in McKeesport, he was the son of Thomas E. and Debbie (Roberts) Yeager, and the late Shirley (Anderson) Yeager and the partner and best friend of Elizabeth "Sissy" Richel.
Willie worked as a plumber until his health would no longer allow and formerly worked at MTMI Mechanical and East Suburban Inc. He was a member of First United Methodist of McKeesport. Willie was an avid softball player and enthusiast. He also enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, darts, karaoke, and fishing. Willie was always there to lend a hand. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Carolyn L. Gross, age 80, of Munhall, died August 8, 2021, at Riverside Care Center. Born July 2, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Lenart) Mattis and wife of the late Richard Gross.
Carolyn was an avid bingo player, a proud member of her long-time co-op housing family, and loved conversing with her friend Rita. Her mom, Helen, was her inspiration in life.
She is survived by son Dennis Mattis; brother, Wayne (Mary) Mattis, and other relatives and friends.

Mary Elizabeth Toomey "Mary Beth" died after a long struggle with kidney disease on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, while in hospice care at Kane Community Center, Glen Hazel. A native of Hazelwood who grew up in Whitehall, she was born on April 18, 1953, and was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Toomey and Mary Catherine (O'Shea) Toomey, as well as her brother Daniel M. Toomey. She is survived by numerous cousins: the Kelemen's - Ed Kelemen, Mary K. Kier D. Higginbotham, age 46, of McKeesport, died July 13, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Born April 24, 1975, in Dorchester, MA, he the son of Woodrow Barry and the late Betty Jo Higginbotham.
Kier liked to take care of his family and friends at any cost. He enjoyed playing chess and his favorite game to play was Scrabble. Kier was a devoted man of God and carried his Bible everywhere. He loved all kinds of music, loved cooking from scratch, with chicken noodle soup the family favorite and loved watching action and sci-fi movies.
Kier will be missed by all.

Charles E. Peck, age 80, of McKeesport, died July 29, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Born October 31, 1940, in Glassport, he was the son of the late Edward and Angelina (DiPerna) Peck and the husband of the late Roberta (Harff) Peck.
Chuck retired from Ashland Oil Co., where he was a service manager. He also worked at Camp Hill Corp. of McKeesport. Chuck was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church of McKeesport and the former St. Cecelia Church of Glassport. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, video poker, and trips to the casino. Chuck's family's happiness brought him the greatest joy in life.

William George Kessling, age 68, of Liberty Borough, died July 22, 2021, at Kane Community Living Center. Born February 22, 1953, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William C. and Elizabeth A. (Clarke) Kessling.
Bill retired from his family's business Kessling Pharmacy, where he managed the company from 1986 until December 28, 2014, when his dear mother died. The family business served the surrounding communities of Liberty Borough for 67 years. Before that, he worked at US Steel National Tube Works until its closure in 1986. He was a former member of Liberty Presbyterian Church. Bill was also a member of the Liberty Borough Veterans Association, where he could often be found laughing and joking with friends.
He enjoyed following Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football. His greatest joy was the years he spent with his mother serving the community and continuing his father's legacy by managing the family business.

Blanche H. Upperman, age 73, of McKeesport, died July 19, 2021, at home. Born September 8, 1947, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Cooper) Upperman.
Blanche was a loving person with the biggest heart. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations to Wheeling, West Virginia.
She is survived by her siblings, Harry Upperman of McKeesport, Marchelle (Donald, Jr.) Boccardi of Rostraver and Aljean Wilcher of Port Vue; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; also many cousins.

Erin Bachman, age 49, of McKeesport, died July 16, 2021, at home after surviving 3 years with colon cancer. Born October 14, 1971, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Sandy Bachman of McKeesport and the late Raymond Bachman of Versailles Boro.
Erin was relentless against any obstacle thrown her way. She was and always will be her mother’s hero. Erin enjoyed listening to music, dancing to it, or even writing her own songs for her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was able to live the rest of her life with her sweetheart, Maurice "Mo" Chepell, by her side. Erin was 1993 graduate of McKeesport High School.

Dennis M. Glaub, age 73, of North Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died July 13, 2021, at home. Born July 7, 1948, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Gerondites) Glaub and beloved partner of Judith Wargovich for 28 years. Dennis served in the Marines during the Vietnam War and was a member of the North Versailles VFW Post 8430. He worked for Duquense Light and retired as a Lineman. He enjoyed fishing, whether locally or taking trips to the Chesapeake Bay or Canada.
