Joseph “Joe” Duane Russell, age 77, of Port Vue, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.  Born in Detroit, MI, on October 24, 1945, the loving son of the late Joseph Kirkland and Mary Abigail Russell.  Joe spent 50 years as an over-the-road truck driver, where he inherited an intense love of the highway and open road.  He looked forward to traveling to new places and relaxing with the love of his life, Laura.  He also thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandkids play and splash all of the water out of his backyard pool, his weekly visits with his best friend John over a cold Coors Light, and simply spending time with his family.

(Quinn) Filson, age 96, died at home in Irwin, PA, on March 15, 2023.  She was employed by Joseph Hornes Co., Pittsburgh, Jaison’s Department Store, McKeesport, and Kauffman’s Department Store, Century III Mall.  She was a Christian, and a longtime member of the McKeesport Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and member of the Women’s Association.  She was active at the First United Presbyterian Church of Boston, PA, and the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, NJ.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 939, Versailles.

Thomas "Tom" Morrissey Jr., age 49, of White Oak, passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2023.

After graduating from McKeesport High School in 1991, Tom attended California University of Pennsylvania. There he met his wife, Christine, and made lasting friendships as a Phi Kappa Theta fraternity member and playing for the Roosterhead Rugby club team. Tom was an avid outdoorsman; he loved telling and retelling a good story, watching the Penguins, listening to Johnny Cash, and all things Irish.

After college, Tom built homes with Warren & Alcott Construction before moving on to wastewater treatment plant start-up and operations. Most recently, he worked for PA American Water at their McKeesport facility.

Tom was a proud father of Emily and Kelly and thoroughly enjoyed supporting all aspects of their various activities.
He was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a longtime member of the Smithton Sportsman Association. Tom also had a grass-cutting business where he enjoyed providing a much-needed, dependable service to many of his elderly customers.

Walter E. "Wicky" Chuchla, age 73, of McKeesport, died February 17, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born October 13, 1949, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Alice (Johnston) Chuchla and the husband of Georgeann (Rose) Chuchla.
Walter retired from Allegheny County Public Works department, where he was a heavy equipment supervisor. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 and the former Secretary Treasurer of McKeesport Ambulance Service. Walter was a member of the former St. Mary Czestochowa Church, Mary, Mother of God Parish. He was also a member of the 11th Ward Club and the McKeesport Seniors. Walter enjoyed fishing, sitting on the beach, and classic cars. He owned a 1963 Corvette and a 1939 GMC truck. Walter's work family restored the 1939 GMC to pristine condition while he was in Mexico on a family vacation. This was a testament to the type of boss and friend Walter really was. He was truly loved by all and would do anything for anyone! His greatest joy and the light of his life were his grandchildren, and the time he spent with them.

George B. Barnes, age 71, of White Oak, passed away peacefully, on February 16, 2023. He was born on July 9, 1951 in McKeesport, the son of William and Alice (Ferry) Barnes.
After being graduated from West Mifflin North High School, George served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. Then he resumed his employment at Westinghouse which later became Bombardier, where he retired as a Lead Manufacturing Technician after working there 46 years. George was a talented musician, owning and playing over 20 guitars, and travelling with the Gospel group Frontline, for which he wrote and recorded several songs. He will be missed, as well for the times when he and Don lead the family through singing all the songs we knew.
