Louis Washowich, 81, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Lou is survived by his loving wife Jean, sons Michael (Missy) and Matthew (Jen Reck, Payton) and granddaughters Taylor, Haley & Lacey. Born in McKeesport, PA on July 8th, 1939, Lou grew up in a city that he later felt in life was his duty to serve.

Ernest "Ernie" Gregory Warren,  61, of Eads, CO, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021. He was born March 13, 1960 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Charles A. Warren of Elizabeth Township and the late Marilyn (Closser) Warren. Ernie was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School where he participated in Varsity Wrestling and Baseball. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed nature and the outdoors. Ernie had worked for the US Postal Service.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Orr)  Warren, daughter, Chelsea M. Warren of Youngwood, brother, Charles "Steve" (Patricia) Warren of Washington, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Anna Mae Gioia, 94, of Lincoln Boro, passed away Thursday April 1, 2021 at home. She was born June 5, 1926 on the family farm in Elizabeth Township, and was the daughter of  the late Clyde and Arelia Billick. She was the wife of the late Nicholas (Nick) Gioia. They got married on her 21st birthday and were married for 41 years. Anna was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, and also a member of the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. She worked for White Star Laundry and J & L Mill in Christy Park. She was a long time employee of McKeesport Hospital as a Messenger Escort and was a Union Steward for Local 205. Anna Mae was best known for her love of her trips to the casino and baking, especially Easter Bread and Pizzelles.

He was born March 10, 1931 in Port Vue and was the son of the late John and Margaret Malos of White Oak.  Dennis was self-employed in the trucking business for many years and was a member of the Teamsters Union No. 249. He was a US ARMY Veteran and also worked security for US Steel. He was a lover of nature and enjoyed hunting with his friends. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing tennis with his wife and Renzie pals.

David was a member of the Boston United Methodist Church, the Croatian Club in Versailles, the G.C. Murphy Veteran's Club, and the Norwin Senior Softball League. He was also a member of the former Boston Fire Co. Webby was retired from the former G.C. Murphy Co. Warehouse after 30 + years of service. He had most recently worked for Twin Rivers Recycling.

Arron was the proprietor of his own Tattoo business. He was a great artist and could draw anything. He had a big heart and enjoyed cooking gourmet food. In addition to his father, he is survived by his grandmother, children, siblings,  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his beloved dog. Elizabeth “Betty” Robbins 92, of White Oak, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021.  Betty was born October 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Stefan and Stella (Damaski) Kozlowski. She was the wife of her beloved husband, the late William "Billy" Robbins. Betty was a remarkable woman.  She worked for 26 years at the City of Pittsburgh Office of Personnel and after retiring from that position moved on to work for 8 years at the Federal Jury office becoming the Jury Supervisor, she got her driver’s license at the age of 40 and also obtained her GED at age 40...”just because”.

Karen M. (Tom Katona) Paterra, 71, lifelong resident of Versailles Borough, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 in White Oak. Karen was born in McKeesport on April 14, 1948, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Smith) Paterra of Versailles Borough. She was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Paterra who died in 1972. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Church - St. Patrick Worship Site, The Palenese League of America, and served as a past officer of the Palenese Women's Auxiliary She was retired from the County of Allegheny where she worked for over 24 years as an administrative secretary. Karen was a jack-of-all-trades. and would attempt any home repair job that she physically could. She was a women of great faith and her family was the center of her world. She was a 1966 graduate of McKeesport High School. From 1969 to 1971 she traveled to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and France. For her, the highlight of these travels was when she was so close to Pope Paul VI, she could almost reach out and touch him.

Richard was a member of Christy Park United Methodist Church and was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a former City Controller and Tax Collector for the City of McKeesport and had retired from US Steel. Richard was manager of McKeesport 50 + Softball Team and was instrumental in the Mon Valley Unemployed Committee that was formed in the 1980s.

She was the wife of the late David J. Shegan, who passed away April 18, 1979. “Margie” graduated from McKeesport High School in 1945. As a young woman she worked as a camera girl at the Vogue Terrace in North Versailles and subsequently in the mail room at the Irvin Works before starting a family with her husband. Margie was a member of St. Sava Orthodox Church in McKeesport, where she was a former member of The Young at Heart's group. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She loved traveling, beach vacations and annual family reunion weekends.
