Edward H. "Ted" Mains, Jr., 73, of Penn Township, formerly of White Oak, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022. He was born April 1, 1949 in Greenock, and was the son of the late Edward H. Mains, Sr., and the late Margaret (Heholt) Mains. Ted graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School, class of 1967 and went into the Army during the Vietnam Era, serving from 1969-1971 as a Military Policeman. After his time in the Army, he worked for W.E. Mains Landscape as a Landscaping Contractor. Ted and his wife, Roberta, were long time members of Sacred Heart, St. Martin de Porres, Corpus Christi, and now of St. Angela Church. Ted was a former WOAA Board of Director, and Football & Softball Coach. In 1999, he underwent a kidney/pancreas double transplant. Post transplant, he stayed active with the transplant community, participating as an athlete and a member of Team Alleghenies, where he won 2 gold medals in golf. Ted really enjoyed starting his day with a "Bunch of Old Guys" getting coffee and breakfast. One of the most important things to do was spending time with his family. Between sporting events, school concerts, or vacations at their South Carolina beach house, Ted prioritized family and the memories they've made over the years.

Ted is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Roberta (Pupich) Mains; daughters, Marcella Mains Barry of North Huntingdon, and Melissa (Matt) Hale of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Tyler & Megan Barry, and Morgan & Will Hale; sister-in-law, Jean (the late Rob) Pupich; and various nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his brother, William E. (Lois) Mains; his sisters, Irene (Curt) Greenwood, and M. Jean (Len) Lukowski; and by his in-laws, Robert & Dolores Brocard Pupich.
