Frank Knezovich, age 92, of Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Riverside Care Center. He was a retired steelworker for J & L Steel in Floreffe. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth and an Army veteran serving during World War II.

GERTRUDE C. BUCHLEITNER, 99, of Duquesne, died Nov. 26, 2016. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Schultz) Snyder. Wife of the late Eugene C. Buchleitner. She is survived by her son Eugene (Sally) Buchleitner of Elizabeth and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son James Buchleitner and brother Frank Snyder. Gert was a member of St. Joseph Church and worked at the Canopy in McKeesport. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Wed. 10:00 am till 11:00 am at which time a funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Tom Lewandowski. Margaret E. Costa, age 78, of Port Vue, died November 25, 2016, at the Riverside Care center. Born September 6, 1938, in Trafford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Butcher) Bartakovich and the wife of the late Carmen Costa, Sr.
Margaret was retired from Macy’s Department Store, where she was a sales associate and she also worked as a nanny for many years. Her greatest love was caring for her family and all the children in her life. She was a member of the St. Mark Parish, Port Vue Woman’s club and the Port Vue Seniors. She enjoyed trips to the beach with her family and was best known for preparing magnificent family meals.

Donald Hodge, age 81, of Versailles Borough, died Nov. 23, 2016, at Allegheny Health Network Healthcare At Home & Inpatient Hospice at West Penn Hospital. Born May 10, 1935, in Mifflin Twp., he was the son of the late Elmer and Sarah (Shaffer) Hodge and the husband of Lucille (Salvi) Hodge. They were married for over 61 years.

George A. "Tookie" Zalac, 87, of Glassport died November 25, 2016. He is the son of the late Vincent and Frances (Puskar) Zalac. He is survived by a son, Gregory Zalac; grandchildren Brandon, Chrissy, Ashley, and Karlie; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Veronica Kolic, Mildred Luketic, Helen Lazar, Dorothy Zalac, and Mary Ann Lesko, and brothers Louis, John, Frank, and Joseph Zalac. George was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish and served in the U.S. Army WWII. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A funeral mass will be held Monday 10am at Queen of the Rosary Parish with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki.

Elmer G. “Boots” Kiraly, age 71 of Port Vue, died on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born in Hays on Dec. 6, 1944 and is the son of the late Elmer J. and Eleanor Kramer Kiraly. He was employed at Copperweld in Glassport until he retired. Elmer was a former volunteer fireman for Port Vue and was a co-founder of “Gerela’s Gorillas.” He was very devoted to his daughters and grandchildren.

Todd Thomas Cook, age 41, passed away sadly on Saturday, November 19th, 2016, in McKeesport. Born July 21, 1975, in McKeesport, he was the beloved son of John A. and Charmaine (Arvin) Cook.
Todd attended McKeesport High School and worked in interior construction for Top Notch Installations. He was a perfectionist on any job he tackled. There wasn’t anything Todd couldn’t build or fix. He liked to deer hunt, fish and would lend a hand to anyone who needed him.

Frances Ruth Garrison, age 90, of Glassport, died November 15, 2016 at home. Born January 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Beacher and Vallie (Knox) Younkin and the wife of the late James A. Garrison.
Frances was a practicing Jehovah Witness and a homemaker. Frances was most famous for her spaghetti sauce and chicken noodle soup.
She is survived by son, William J. (Joanne) Garrison of Harrison City; daughter, Dorothy Nehila of Glassport; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; uncle, Merle Knox of Berlin, PA; nieces and nephews.
