MARY C. SEKOWSKI age 63, of Duquesne, on February 17, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Wasko) Cerepani. She was a former guidance counselor aid for Duquesne public schools. She was a judge of elections for the city of Duquesne. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and attending her grandchildren’s baseball games. She was the wife of 42 years to Francis “Buddy” Sekowski; mother of Todd Sekowski of Duquesne and Ryan (Iresha) Sekowski of West Mifflin; grandmother of Todd J., Tiana, Ryan Jr. and Rylie Sekowski; sister of Dorothy (John) Hodinko of Clairton, David (Jo Lynn) Cerepani of West Melbourne, FL and John (Mary Jo) Cerepani of Kennedy Twp. EUGENE N. "GENE" COSTEL age 80, of West Mifflin, on February 16, 2017. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Irene (Ondik) Costel. He was a retired high school math teacher from the Steel Valley School District retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, their Men's Club and volunteered at church fish fry dinners. He was an avid bowler and an avid golfer, and had a hole-in-one at Butler's Golf Course. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and retired from the US Naval Reserve as a Chief Warrant Officer Four with 30 years service. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and he was a graduate of California State College. Beloved husband of 53 years to Agnes "Aggie" (Ribar) Costel; father of Gary (Melisa) Costel of Butler and Daniel Costel of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Andrew, Michael and Timmy Costel; brother of Marcella (late Buddy Petruska and late Chuck) Jaskulski of West Mifflin, Patty (Terry) Bernd of Monroeville; also nieces and nephews. Visitation on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Patricia M. "Patty" Moss, age 63 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Born December 19, 1953 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Sylvia (Cegelski) Skibinski, and loving wife of the late John S. Moss. Patty was the Vice President and Manager for PNC Bank in McKeesport for 33 years, where she was a friendly and familiar face to all of those in the community. In her free time, she enjoyed taking trips to the casino, going to craft shows, playing bingo and visiting Deep Creek Lake. Most importantly, she loved the time that was spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a special way of making memories with her family that will always be cherished. Robert E. Smith, age 89, of Irwin, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born July 1, 1927 in Wilmerding, a son of the late Clarence C. and Verna (Stormer) Smith. He was a long time member of the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church where he participated in their dart ball competitions. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and had the honor of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.
