John M. Bodnar, 105, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Southwestern Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Bodnar was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, a retired self employed Tavern owner, a proud U. S. Army veteran of WWII, and a former member of the G.B.U. Duquesne. Born December 29, 1911, in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Suhoza Bodnar and the beloved husband of the late Anna Holko Bodnar and the late Anna Hornyak Bodnar. He was also preceded in death by a son John M. Bodnar, Jr., and seven siblings; Andrew, William, Nicholas, Michael, Joseph Bodnar, Ann Drotar, and Margaret Liszka. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the McKeesport Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a retired home health care Nurse. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Karla) Komaniak of Holiday Park and Todd (Debra) Komaniak of Sarasota, FL, daughter, Deborah (David) Majercik of White Oak, grandchildren, Benjamin, Zachary, Sunni, Samantha and Jacob Komaniak and Julianna Smith, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Frank P. Gottlieb died Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Beloved son of the late Abraham and Nettie Bondy Gottlieb. Beloved brother of Florence Gottlieb Krakoff (late Samuel) of Industry and Marcus A. Gottlieb (Carole) of Pittsburgh. Nephew of Janet Bondy Eisen (Bernard). Uncle of Richard Krakoff, Lisa Krakoff Biancucci (Richard), Michael Gottlieb (Laurie), Linda Gottlieb Gordon (Alan), Amy Gottlieb Cook (David) and the late Daniel Krakoff. Also survived by many cherished great and great-great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and countless friends. Raised in Midland, PA, Frank was a journalist who graduated from Duquesne University. He was a Vietnam Veteran and former News Director at KQV News Radio. He was the recipient of the Golden Quill Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
