Alan A. Schick, 80, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Squirrel Hill, died Friday December 9, 2016. He was born April 3, 1936 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Fred A. and Katherine Schick. Alan was a Electrical Engineer. After enjoying an early retirement, he traveled the world and had visited 52 countries. He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Lin Thorne of Elizabeth Township, and his brother, Donald Schick of Tulsa, OK, and cousins, Ginny Schick of Pittsburgh and Pat Oswald of CO. There is no visitation.

He was a machinist by trade. He was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish where he was a former altar server. He was a US Army Veteran for eight years including a tour of duty in Iraq. He received a Combat Action Badge. He was a graduate of Wilson Christian Academy and Mon Valley Technical School. Beside his parents he is survived by brothers and sisters, Sally (Matt) Smith of Parker, CO, Brian (Deirdre) Kamauf of North Huntingdon, First Sergeant, Jennifer Martin of Altus Air Force Base, OK, Terrence (Crystal) Kamauf, Houston, TX, Stephanie Evagues of McMinnville, TN and Rebecca Kamauf of Duquesne; grandson of Eleanor Duche of West Mifflin; boyfriend of Richelle Swyers of Dubois; also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday from 12-8 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne (412) 466-3300. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish at 11 a.m. Where military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family.
