Ronald R. Riley Sr., age 71, of North Versailles, died September 16, 2023 at UPMC East. Born May 11, 1952, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Raymond Riley and Olga (Gatchie) Riley Lenhart and longtime companion of the late Betty Jackson.
Ron retired from the Pittsburgh VA Hospital in the dietary department. He graduated from McKeesport VoTech, studying Cabinetry making. Ron was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport. Ron was also a member of the VFW and the former McKeesport American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed reading and was known for his "sweet tooth," snacking on his favorite candies, Jolly Ranchers, and Twix bars. Ron loved to make his family and friends laugh.

Clifford C. Nolder

Clifford C. Nolder, age 57, of Elizabeth, died September 1, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside due to complications with his liver. Born October 20, 1965, he was the son of the late James "Nuggy" and Carol Ann (Pierce) Nolder.
Clifford worked in construction. One of his favorite jobs he had was working on a fishing boat. Clifford enjoyed moving around and lived in many places, such as Virginia, the Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, and Florida. He moved back home to Elizabeth years ago when his father became ill. Clifford loved spending time with his nephews and their children.
Clifford is survived by his siblings, Jim Nolder, Heather (the late Ron) Yuhas, Laura Nolder, and Kathleen (Mike) Davis.

William F. Cunningham

William F. Cunningham, age 73, of North Versailles, died September 5, 2023, at Squirrel Hill Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. Born October 24, 1949, in Carnegie, he was the son of the late Francis and Beatrice Cunningham.
William retired from Duquesne Light Company as a Computer Analyst and then worked for ACS. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. In his younger years, he coached his sons' baseball team.
William is survived by his sons, Mark and Brian Cunningham, and sister, Shirley (Harold) Bier.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Albert F. Harmon

Albert F. Harmon, Jr., age 84, of Dravosburg, died at home on September 4, 2023.  Born September 12, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert Sr., and Mary Jane (Evans) Harmon and husband of Elaine (Laver) Harmon.

Albert worked at Copperweld in Glassport, the Pittsburgh Rail Car, and Napa on Route 51.

In addition to his wife, Albert is also survived by sons, Edward (Brittany) Harmon and Albert (Patty) Harmon; grandchildren, Kristie Harmon, Edward Harmon, McKenna Harmon, Ashley Donaldson, Justin (Tara) Harmon, and Alicia (Chris) Amodeo; many great-grandchildren; brother, Kinzy Harmon, former daughter-in-law, Deborah (Rick) Wellek, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings Clifford Harmon and Kreal Canning.  The services for Albert will be private.

Terrance “Terry” M. Johnson, age 59, of McKeesport, PA, departed life as we know it unexpectedly on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  Born May 31, 1964, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson and Fred Smith and brother of the late Tiffany Johnson.  Terry was a 1982 graduate of McKeesport High School and served in the US Army from 1984 to 1988.  He was an avid fan of all sports.  However, basketball was his favorite.  More than anything, Terry enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.

Kenneth Leon Woods, Sr., age 73, of Pittsburgh, died at home on August 26, 2023.  Born October 9, 1949, in East Chicago, IN, he was the son of the late Charlie Sr. and Eugene (Cole) Woods.  Growing up in East Chicago, Kenneth was a track and football star in high school.  He was the halfback on the football team and a record holder for many years in the 100-meter dash.  He enjoyed watching football and was a die-hard Steelers fan.  Kenneth was an avid fisherman and passionate about making his lures and trying them out on the shores of Lake Erie.  He was a self-taught photographer and especially loved taking photos of his family.  Kenneth cherished many trips to the casinos of Atlantic City and locally with his brother Robert.

Thomas B. Taylor, age 70, of McKeesport, died August 18, 2023, at home. Born April 22, 1953, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Samuel Paul and Anna (Capers) Taylor.
Thomas was a former machinist for U.S. Steel - Irvin Works. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church in McKeesport. Thomas used to enjoy roller skating and playing cards with family and friends.

Jay A. Penwell, age 68, of Pittsburgh, died August 9, 2023, peacefully at home. Born September 2, 1954, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Gayle Malcolm and Ruth (Rigg) Penwell and the loving husband of Nadine (James) Penwell for almost 21 years.
Jay loved life and was a happy and honest man. He graduated from Perry High School and then earned an Associate's Degree in Science from CCAC in Industrial Management.
As a young man, Jay worked as an Ironworker and later became an employee of American Electric Power Company. He began working at Pressure Chemical Company in 1990 and grew through promotions to become the Plant Manager. His career there spanned 33 years. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and a long-time member of Avalon Lodge #657 in Bellevue, Pa. He was a former member of Pittsburgh Elks Lodge #11 in Pittsburgh, Pa, and held titles as the Exalted Ruler and Trustee.

 Duane E. Walls, age 65, of McKeesport, died August 6, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital with his wife by his side. Born July 17, 1958, in West Mifflin, he was the son of the late Edward and Ursula (Paskert) Walls and the husband of Michele (Welsh) Walls for 37 years.
Duane worked in sales for Cornwell Tools. He graduated from West Mifflin North High School. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, planting flowers, and going on trips.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Pamela Welsh; nephew, Nicholas Nedel; niece, Laura Nedel; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

LaDonna L. Gardner (Chandler), 53, of Port Vue, passed away at home on July 28, 2023.  She was born July 10, 1970, at McKeesport Hospital.  LaDonna worked at UPMC Montefiore for several years as a Health Unit Coordinator.  She was the daughter of Raymond W. and Charmaine S. Chandler Chalfant.  In addition to her parents, LaDonna is survived by her husband of 20 years, Lawrence R. Gardner; children, Jessica (Marc) Cardinale, Hallie (Josh) Albro-Bettell, Michael Gardner, and Lucas Gardner; grandchildren Alexander Bettell and Vayda Cardinale and many loved family and friends whom she held dearly in her heart.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond J. Chandler; grandparents, James and Ann Chandler (Yusinsky) and Thomas and Susan Chalfant (Despiter); and several other loved ones she held dear.

Marlene A. Schelinski, age 83, from Turtle Creek, died July 13, 2023, at the Squirrel Hill Wellness & Rehabilitation Center . Born July 23, 1939 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Frank and Alberta Massung.
Marlene was one of the first female bartenders and also worked in retail jewelry sales.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with the children and grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by daughters, Sharon Schlenski and Pam Wakefield and son, Paul Schelinski.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Renzie Park in pavilion one at 4 p.m. Luncheon will follow with celebration until 8 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.

Kathleen Alice Krausmann, 70, of McKeesport, PA, passed away on July 21, 2023, from natural causes.

Born Kathleen Alice McCarrison on April 6, 1953, she leaves behind her husband, Gary, and her children David, William, Alan, Keith, and Amanda. She is also survived by four grandchildren, one great-grandson, and two daughters-in-law.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and James, brothers James, Johnathan, and Kenneth, as well as sisters Dolly and Patricia.

Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and lived her entire life in the Pittsburgh area. A devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she remained the cornerstone of the family until her passing.

Daniel E. "Dan" Gretz, age 77, of Liberty Borough, died July 15, 2023. He passed away peacefully, in the company of family at home. Born June 21, 1946, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward and Frances (Witkowski) Gretz and the loving husband of the late Christine M. Gretz for 54 years.
Dan retired from US Steel Clairton Works, where he was an instrument repairman. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during peacetime on USS Shangri-La. Dan was a strong supporter of veterans and active-duty military personnel. He was also a member of the Liberty Borough Veterans Association. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing with his sons and grandchildren, writing poetry, and relaxing in his Gazebo. He looked forward to spending time and vacationing with his family. His favorite destinations include Lake Erie and hunting in Green County. Dan spoke often of his love for his wife, Tina, and being "Together Forever". Danny and Tina were true soul mates; having known each other since childhood, celebrating their first communion together at Holy Trinity Church in McKeesport.

Nancy was a longtime member and Christian Mother of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Eugene Church. Nancy enjoyed crafting, crossword puzzles, word searches, and shopping. She had a love for cats and cared for many over the years.
