He worked for Vegley Welding, McKee Asphalt, BK Electric and RSV Construction. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting and riding his motorcycle. Rodney D. Myers, age 76, formerly of Braddock, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at UPMC East. Born in Braddock on April 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna M. (Holmes) Myers. He was a former member of the former Presbyterian Church in Braddock, enjoyed playing bingo, coloring and playing musical instruments. He was a ladies man with girls at the programs and workshops that he attended. He is the brother-in-law of Larry W. (Sharon) Johnson of West Mifflin; brother of the late Carole Johnson; uncle of Kimbel (Megan) Lowery of Ligonier and Terry (late Phyllis) Lowery of North Huntingdon; extended family Bill (Dana) Adams of Washington, PA and their family, Casey and Josie and Robert (Melissa) Ferry of Elizabeth Twp. and their daughter Madison. He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews. Kathy Brecko, of Duquesne, PA., 89, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on March 31, 2023.She was born in Braddock on July 10, 1933, and was the daughter to the late Edward and Catherine (Medrick) Wentroble. She was the wife of the late Joseph Brecko. Kathy was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church in West Mifflin. Kathy’s greatest joy was being a mother to her children, Joseph John Jr. (Debbie), Sue (Marina Yanko), Cindy, and Lori Brecko. She loved being a grandmother to her Granddaughters Amy, Kathi and Chaya and Great Granddaughter Kelly. She was a homemaker. She also had a career as a Bell Telephone Operator, Teacher’s aide for the Duquesne School District, and served as president to the PTA of Duquesne Catholic Schools. She was preceded in death by brothers William (Maxine), George (Ann), Edward (John), Joseph (Late Josephine and Patricia Grace), and sister Mildred (Jim) Noe.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Kathy had a sense of humor, funloving, and loved to laugh. In her youth, she loved dancing to her favorite polkas.  Loved watching the Steelers. Loved going to the bingo and the casino. Never went out of the house without putting on some lipstick first. She loved to drive. She loved to cook and bake, especially cookies and pies. Special thanks to our Mom’s caregivers Lori, John, and Kayla who allowed our mom’s remaining years to live at home, on her terms. Finally to Bridges Hospice for their care and compassion of our mother in her last year of life. And extra thanks to our therapy dogs Rusty and Gracie who gave our mother much happiness and emotional support. Born in Glassport, on November 19, 1939, he was the son of the Late Walter and Elizabeth (Michaels) Worek Sr. He was a retired teller for various banks, ending with PNC. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish – St. Joseph Church and the Duquesne Annex Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Vice President. He loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Walter is the beloved husband of 60 years to Carol (Ruggier) Worek; father of Arlene (Bruce) Goetz of Mars, John (Sharen) Worek of West Mifflin and David (Maria) Worek of South Riding, VA; Grandfather of Ben (Lauren) Worek, Brian Worek, Molly Worek, Megan Worek, Shelly Worek, Josh Goetz, Ali Goetz, Ian Goetz and Rachel Goetz; Brother of Late Eugene (wife Beverly survives) Worek and Dennis (Debbie) Worek of VA; Nephew of Aileen (Late Albert “Bob”) Michaels of Duquesne; Brother-In-Law of Sandi (Late Gerry) Como of Pleasant Hills, Shelly (Late Paul) Ruggier of Elizabeth Twp. and Thomas (Late Evie) Fichera of West Mifflin. Evelyn E. Rusteikas, 98, of Duquesne died Saturday, March 18, 2023, near the home of her son at the Westminster retirement community in Lake Ridge VA. She was born November 1, 1924, in McKeesport, daughter of the late John and Sophie (Ranchik) Slaney. She was preceded in her death by her husband of 55 years Leo F. Rusteikas, who died on September 7, 2011, and her sisters Mary Slaney and Irene (Slaney) Sovak.

She is survived by her son Gregory (Lori) Rusteikas of Manassas VA; grandchildren Scott (Melissa) Rusteikas of Concord NC and Christi (Matthew) Marcheschi of Buffalo Grove IL; great grandchildren Gianna, Gemma, Natalie, Andrew, and Finley.

Evelyn was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge VA, and a longtime former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (St. Thomas The Apostle Parish) in Duquesne.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday at Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300. Blessing service will be at 9:30am Monday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. Dan Sweeney officiating. Shedlock of West Mifflin and Jennifer Haskins of West Mifflin; sister of the late June (late Charles “Bud”) Dudgeon and the late Robert (late Margaret) Nemes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Born in Duquesne on September 9, 1943, he was the son of the late Stephen T. & Sylvia (Zavonovich) Piskor. He was employed at U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works, in the Primary Mill, Builders Square, and Shop and Save, in Century Square, as the Dairy Manager. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church and the A.A.R.P. Chapter # 3172, at the Thompson Run Club and enjoyed bowling and going to the casino.  Daniel was the husband of 58 years to Darlene (Bacik) Piskor; father of Dan (Sue) Piskor of Springfield, VA and Dean (Susan) Piskor of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandfather of Diana (Jake) Glaser of Centerville, VA; and brother of Stephen (Barb) Piskor of Fox Chapel. Born in Greenville, PA on September 29, 1957, he was the son of the late Frank & Oleva (McBride) Whitlock. He worked for K-Mart and was a Truck Driver for Schneider National. He enjoyed hunting. Arnold A. Mathe, age 89, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, at UPMC McKeesport. Son of the late Alexander and Irene (Salko) Mathe, he was born in McKeesport on May 3, 1933. He was a retired food broker and salesman and a graduate of Dale Carnegie Sales School. He was a member of St. John Mark Lutheran Church, Homestead, where he served on Council, was a Lector and Usher. He was a Past Master of McKeesport Lodge F&AM #375, a member of F&AM #731 and was involved in youth basketball for the West Mifflin Recreation League. His grandchildren were his life and his great grandchildren were very special to him. He proudly served his Country in the Army during the Korean War. Arnold is the loving husband of 68 years to Jeannette (Miskanic) Mathe; father of Terry Naylor of West Mifflin and Tammy O’Brien of Munhall; grandfather of Christopher Naylor, Zachary (Tosha) Naylor, Dr. Taylor O’Brien and Blake O’Brien; great grandfather of Alexander Naylor, Garrett Naylor and Ava Naylor; and brother of late Thomas Mathe and late Dennis (surviving spouse Joy) Mathe. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church. Pam was a loyal Steeler fan, calling herself a “Steelerette.” She was also good at art and poetry. She is the mother of Mylo (Sharon) Markovich of Greensburg, Samantha Markovich of Elizabeth and the late Clint Foley; grandmother of Lily Coffey, Ella Coffey, Ben Markovich, Brian Markovich, and Mylo Markovich; sister of Leonard (Joanne) Evagues Jr. of Duquesne, Michaeleene (late Anthony “Carly”) Giannandrea of West Mifflin,Alicia (Brian) Ziemke of Elizabeth Twp., and late Edward Evagues; and boyfriend Val Kruska of Elizabeth Twp.
