IRENE E. DENNE age 85, of Connellsville, formerly of Duquesne, at the home of her daughter, Sharon. An earthly angel gained her Heavenly wings on May 19, 2018, when Irene Denne passed through Heaven's Gates. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Blaczyewska) Balawajder. Irene was a wonderful and loving wife and mother. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy in life. Irene always thought of others and would brighten the day of others by sending cards. She also enjoyed feeding birds every morning from the back porch. Irene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. She loved listening to Polka Party every Sunday morning and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. She was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and prayed the Rosary daily for those in need. Beloved wife of the late Bernard T. Denne; mother of Sharon (Bill) Crissman of Connellsville, PA, Linda (David) Konar of West Mifflin and Thomas B. Denne of Turtle Creek. Predeceased by her son-in-law, Carl I. KIGER , 59, of Duquesne, died on May 9, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  She was born on June 23, 1958, in Pittsburgh, to the Late Stanley & Lois (Schuffert) Kruszewski.  She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Kiger, Sr.  She was the mother of Charles A. She was a retired hairdresser and her great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. EDWARD “BOOTSO” PROKAY age 90, of West Mifflin, on April 27, 2018, at his home. He was the son of the late Lucas and Ann Majoros Prokay. He retired from Union Railroad as a mechanic and also as a truck driver from Rogan Hauling where he hauled slag from the mill to fill in the Duquesne Village Shopping Center. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Brother of Margaret Estok of West Mifflin and the late Ann Ciglan, Irene Juhasz, Joseph, Alex and James Prokay; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Whitey was a retired bearing repairman from US Steel Duquesne Works, a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, member of the American Legion Post 701 White Oak, former VFW Post 188, the AARP and the former West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens. He proudly served our country in the Army during WWII. Beloved husband of 68 years to Cecelia A. Bill was a member of the Croatian Club of Duquesne and a member of the Duquesne High School 1944 State Basketball Championship Team, he proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Husband of the late Virginia M. (Johnson) Valiquette; father of William H. (Chris Ann) Valiquette III of West Mifflin and the late Janet Renshaw who is survived by her former husband, Daniel Pollak; also seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter; brother of Gloria (late Ted) Shell of Port Vue, Arlene Gida and the late Jack Valiquette. LLOYD SR. 63, of Clairton, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  He was born on Nov. 2, 1954, in McKeesport, to the late Thomas George Lloyd Sr. and Elizabeth (Conroy) Lloyd.  He was a box assembler at the Box Factory, Pittsburgh. He was the husband of the late Lois Lloyd. He is survived by his son, Earl William Lloyd Jr. of Clairton. He was the brother of Mary Jane (James) Groff of Duquesne, Thomas G. Lloyd Jr. of Donora, the late Elizabeth Snyder and late Donna Lloyd.  Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Gropp officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at the McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery.

 


Richard Phillip "Ricky" Falchetti

RICHARD PHILLIP “RICKY” FALCHETTI age 66, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration H.J. Heinz Community Living Center on February 14, 2018. He lived and worked most of his life in the Duquesne area, including working at US Steel Duquesne Works, primary mill. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a National Defense Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was diagnosed with ALS in early 2017 and fought this terrible disease at home with the help of family members, friends, and as the disease progressed, his care was continued by loving and caring people at the VA. He was a son of the late Louise Rose (Consiglio) Falchetti. He is survived by his father, Richard L. Falchetti; brothers, Mark (Rosemarie), Byron and Keith (Mary Anne); and sister, Carmela; and special friend, Paulette Barry. He loved his nieces, Alyssa, Liana, Julia, Maria, Brittnie, Paige and Anziana; and great-nieces, Hailey and Natalie; and his aunt, Pat, in Kentucky; also cousins. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. where Military Honors will be rendered.
